This experience is one we are SO glad we had. The sunrise was phenomenal and the bike ride was so much fun! Our tour guide was funny and so entertaining, this was especially important with the early wake up call. He also took amazing photos of us during the tour. 10/10 recommend this tour!! I can’t imagine not having done this while we were in Maui.

This was a very early morning which is understandable as you are going up for the sunrise, but you spend an hour or more riding up to the top and the driver did not stop talking the entire way and we made a stop on the way, seemed like it could’ve started 30 min or so later as we got to the top and watched the sunrise for an hour and their were stars there! While the sunrise and seeing into the volcano was absolutely stunning the bike ride was a cool experience but due to the local politics you now only do a ~6 mile segment twice and it was just okay (you can rent a bike separately and bike from the top down on your own just not with a commercial group). Also, unfortunately this is advertised as a 6 hour tour and you are expected to be there at 330am. We had children we had to return to and it did not finish until about noon which we could’ve better prepared for if it was advertised as a 9 hour tour, just be prepared for that.

Not a bike tour

This should not be marketed as a bike tour; it’s an overpriced bus tour. You get to hop on a bike for 10 minutes and ride down hill, then they drive you back up and you ride back down the exact same area a second time. While getting to see the sunrise at Haleakala was breathtaking and amazing, I was highly disappointed by the tour as it was not the adventure I signed up for and could have saved a ton of money.

I have ridden down Haleakalā multiple times. This is the first time I was disappointed. The lack of openness in the shortened ride was disheartening at best. Riding for 10 minutes at the top and then being picked up to do the same few miles again was not what was advertised. Not what we signed up for. Not what we paid for. On the positive side, the guide was funny, knowledgeable, and helpful. We enjoyed his stories.

Eddie Buddy was the most amazing tour guide ever! I am proud to be a honorary Eddie’s Buddy! He is very knowledgeable, engaging, witty AND a great driver! The sunrise at the top of the volcano was breathtaking. Make sure to wear a winter hat and dress warm! Don’t worry, you can leave your extra clothing on the bus while you ride down or put in your backpack. This was so much fun! This is a must do in Maui. Support Maui & Tip Well. Mahalo 🫶

Bike Shop cancels trip 15 hours before time, tough luck

They cancelled on the afternoon before the trip less than 15 hours before pick up. I then wasn't able to set up another ride with anyone else. Very frustrating, had to leave on the following day. It is a no money back refund if I cancel before 24 hours but no penalty to them for messing up a important trip that I had planned for.

As everyone knows, Maui recently expereienced devastating Maui wildfires in which many lost their homes, businesses, and lives. We were fortunate to not have lost our business, however the after effects of the fires resulted in a exodus of tourism from the island after the wrong message of maui is closed was spread. Our numbers are so low that we can only operate a couple days a week, and even on those days we have to operate efficiently so that there is a business to come back to for many of our staff who are currently on unemployment. Unfortunately with the low numbers we are met with the challenge of having to cancel or consolidate tours. We apologize that you were met with this situation, but hope you understand that waited as long as we could to try to get more bookings, but when we were unable to needed to cancel.

Super friendly staff. The ride up the mountain was filled with a lot of information about the areas that we were driving through. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with and took great care of my son and I. Great sunrise followed by an amazing ride down the mountain. I would highly recommend this trip.

If you're thinking about booking this trip, stop reading this and book it! The views are incredible (but cold- wear warm clothes under the waterproofs that they provide, plus gloves and a headband for the top). Our tour guide Corey was amazing - knowledgeable, funny, and energetic which is just what you need when leaving at 2am. The bike ride down is thrilling and so much fun. Wear layers so you can remove them as you go down the mountain. By the time you finish, you will be in shorts and t-shirts. Stores and breakfast places weren't open Sundays so breakfast had to wait until we got back (the breakfast place in the plaza was delightful). If we come back, we'd do this again!

Cannot miss once in a lifetime experience.

The sunrise was the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen. When the park ranger began singing the traditional sunrise chant my wife was brought to tears. The bike ride down the volcano was amazing with lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures and views. We would consider this experience a must do if you are in Maui.
