Your evening at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort on Maui begins with lively pre-show music and entertainment, priming you for a night of cultural immersion, so you can understand the island’s history and ancestral tales.

After your pre-dinner entertainment, settle down to watch the show—”Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide," a captivating performance that demonstrates the dances and ancestral stories of Polynesia, including a lively fire knife performance.

During the performance, indulge in a hassle-free, all-you-can-eat buffet. This luau-style dinner offers a variety of Hawaiian specialties, allowing you to sample a wide range of local flavors without the need to choose from a menu.

As a souvenir of your memorable evening, receive a special gift, such as a traditional flower lei, a kukui nut lei, or a hand-carved wooden necklace. After the show, you’re free to arrange your transportation and plan the rest of your Maui evening.

Don’t be fooled and pay extra for premium seating

Review coming from a 31 year old female who brought their in-laws, husband, and sister to the Marriott for Thanksgiving. The luau overall was pretty standard, especially the food. The drinks were an awful selection of sugary fake mai tais and only one selection for white wine (Pinot Grigio). We were extremely disappointed to have paid for premium seating, which was a significant cost difference. My expectations were pretty low already, as this is a commercial, family event. This is so far from a dining experience or a show. We were sat at a table away from the stage with a family who did not pay the premium, which tells us that we paid up for absolutely nothing. The communication for this event was minimal, and even required me calling Viator to review a receipt for payment.

Two things that prevented a 5 star - food was excellent and so was the entertainment. However, the 2 issues were 1) transportation from front of Marriott to the Luau spot was onerous for elderly or those with walking difficulties- very long walk and 2) not clear communication on backup plan for inclement weather - it was drizzling and wet weather (which we had to be in for 30 minutes with our elderly mother). The rating would have been worse had the rain not stopped because there was no plan for shelter if the rain would have gotten worse.

This is a beautiful luau. One of the best luaus we’ve seen. The food is delicious and served communal style at the table which is much better than the buffet style you get with other luaus. The table gets so much food, it ensures everyone gets a sizable portion of every offering and the table host will bring out more of what you like not like the buffet styles where the first served get the major and best food leaving minimal and less craved food for the last served. The setting for the luau is breathtaking as the show starts just before dusk and the get to eat as the sun is setting in front of your eyes, huge plus. The hostess beautiful and dancers are amazing. The hostess sings beautifully and all the other dancers are graceful in their traditional dances, not to mention funny outtakes throughout the show. This was our second time watching this luau show and we loved it as much as the first time. I highly recommend this luau show.

If you’re looking for a luau in Maui, I highly recommend this one! It’s located on the beautiful grounds of the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort. Dinner was served tableside family style and was much better food than other luaus with buffet dinners. Open bar with generous pours, fabulous entertainment and views made for a very special evening 🌺🏝️🎶
