Overview

Great time with the ten islands tour.

We had a great time with our guide, Alberto. He was very informative and fun to be around. We had the boat to ourselves and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our driver Ramon was very kind, too. Great tour. We highly recommend it.

Amazing wildlife and guide

My family and I had a blast. Kids are 7, 10, 11 and me and my wife. Arturo was an amazing guide/biologist. Sooo knowledable and friendly. Spoke English really well. He had a plethora of information about the islands/Mazatlan and all of animals we saw. Got to see more birds/different species than you can count. Got to see sea lions which was a big treat as they are hard to find. Saw a small pod of dolphins that came up and swam with the boat. There was even a baby dolphin. As for reviews about times getting changed, this happened to us as well. Was supposed to be scheduled for 12:00 trip but was on the verge of being cancelled because not enough people signed up. We got moved to the 8:30 trip and this was better for us anyway.

Loved seeing the birds. Sitting in the front of the boat was fun, but I couldn't hear the guide much of the time. He was very knowledgeable when I could however!

Disreputable Practices

We signed up for a 9:00 trip with our friends then we got a call from the tour operator the day before the excursion, after we could cancel for a refund, saying they moved the time to 8:00 with a pickup at 7:15. Our friends could not meet us at the earlier time yet the tour operator and Viator are demanding full payment. We will never use Viator again. We recommend using a local hotel’s concierge to book excursions instead. They are local and have real relationships with tour operators so they are able to help with these types of bait and switch practices.

Loved the 10 Islands tour. Beautiful day, with all the natural wonders of Mazatlan. Our tour guide Arturo was knowledgeable and accommodating. We are so happy we made this memory as a family.

Fun to be Out on the Water

Arturo was a fantastic guide! We had a lot of fun seeing the islands and hearing about the local legends. It was a nice excursion. We weren't told there was snorkeling as part of the afternoon excursion (Viator said only in the morning), so we didn't wear our swimsuits. If you want to snorkel, make sure you wear your swim gear.

Excellent tour of the islands

We got to see a lot of the islands up close. We also saw sea lions and a large family group of dolphins. This boat tour is best for those who don’t have trouble climbing into a raft like boat. There were are rolling waves but the boat ride was pretty smooth. The guide, boat captain, and bus pickup folks were all friendly and gave excellent service.

I highly recommend this tour. The guide was super knowledgeable and patient. She knew the islands like the back of the her hand. The tour is well worth the cost. The views are amazing and she even took pictures for us, which are optional for purchase. She answered all of our questions. The only thing I’d say is that she was extremely laid back. We would’ve liked to have seen more energy or excitement to set the tone of the tour a bit more.

This tour was amazing!! Well worth every penny. I highly recommend it. Our tour guide Aurora was super knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a pleasure meeting her and learning about the islands. The boat ride was really fun and safe. The way the captain handled the boat made us feel comfortable. Beautiful sights. Simply breathtaking. Can’t wait to return.

Excelente experiencia Te recojen en una van, vas conociendo la ciudad y ya despues terminas en la marina donde se encuentra el bote, te llevan en el bote y conoces todas las islas de mazatlan mientras que el guia te va explicando su historia, el viaje incluia pequeños snacks y al final tuvimos un rato para hacer snorkel, desafortunadamente el agua de mazatlan es un poco turbia y no se podian apreciar muy bien las criaturas marians pero fuera de ahi es una experiencia que vale la pena
