For those who are taking accommodation at the South, South East, West, South West of Zanzibar our meeting point will be at Mocco beach villa Transfer point. If your are at Nungwi and Kendwa we will Pick you up and drop you off free of charge at your hotels receptions / beach / outside hotel parking point.

Great experience, the crew was patient with us and very educative. Def doing it again. Maybe they can teach everyone how to properly use the snorkelling gear before use because for first timers it can be a struggle

Disclaimer: If you're looking for a tour without a dolphin "hunt", without a lot of other boats and people on the sandbank, this might not be yout Tour and none of these tours will be! We did the tour during the off-season and it was still quite busy. Luckily our guide was really chill and would wait till some boats were gone to swim with the dolphins. "Swimming" means more jumping in, when they were near and seeing them shortly. Still, it was a magical experience and the dolphins kept coming back, so they didn't seemed bothered. The snorkeling was super nice, colorful fish, some corals - totally recommend! The sandbank was busy but also very beautiful, the fruit was great! In general the guides were nice and we felt welcomed and safe. The boat is not the most comfortable and feels quite small for the amount of people. But as all boats were the same this tour is definitely recommendable. I would not have wanted to miss this experience and this tour in particular was worth the price.

The whole day was great and thanks to our guide/captain listening to our request to hang back (there were way too many boats at 9am, chasing dolphins- borderline dangerous when in the water)- WE ACTUALLY GOT TO SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS 3 times 👏🏻. I used a a separate driver to meet up with the group and Captain Barnaba’s communication was excellent. Made it easier for my driver too. The fresh fruit is a wonderful treat as mid-morning snack!! Kind consider crew- and a nice group ( I was solo traveller).

The tour was awesome and great value for money! I would highly recommend it. The team were very helpful and we were able to see dolphins and lots of fish on the reef. I was expecting it to be as easy to encounter the dolphins as it was! The tour did not feel rushed so you could really experience everything and relaxing at the sandbar eating amazing local fruit was the perfect end to an amazing mornings! A must do if you are looking for a half day tour!

Honestly the most amazing trip! The guides made such an effort to ensure we got to swim with the dolphins and even went around the other boats so make sure we got to swim with them. The menmba island was gorgeous and got fruit there. The snorkeling experience was out of this world, the guide even swam around the Reef with us and showed us the best parts! Would highly recommend

It was unpleasant swimming behind the engine - exhaust and fuel went to your face. The captain and guide did a great job finding dolphins and we had a refreshing fruit break after snorkling. The captain even jumped in and got s great video 😃👌 Remember sunscreen ☀️🧴

Smooth Experience

They reach out to you before to confirm where you will be picked up/what time. During the tour, dolphins didn’t show face at first but our guide and captain didn’t give up and made sure we saw them before leaving the area. I swam so closely with the dolphins. Sandbank was so beautiful and the fruits were delicious and fresh. Ismael also helped us to record the dolphins and fishes under water. We definitely recommend!

Face-to-face with dolphins!

It was an amazing experience and I was so surprised with how close we got to the dolphins - a few metres away, several times. The snorkelling at Mnemba was great too but take note you don't go on Mnemba island as it's private, you do get to go on a beautiful sandbank just off it though. The crew were friendly and the pick-ups/drop-offs were organised, the ride to the dolphins and the island is stunning as well.

Great 1/2 Day Trip

I thought this tour was really great and well managed. The driver was prompt at my resort for pickup and then took us directly to the meeting spot. We connected with the organizers of the boat trip. Keep in mind that the company offering this tour isn't the one actually running the boat trip. We had to wait awhile because other folks had booked the same boat but they didn't use this tour service. As a result they got lost and it was hard to find them. I mention this because it can happen again but it's not reflection on this tour company. They took us to the dolphin area and I wasn’t sure what to expect. Other reviews talk about inhuman treatment and boat hunting dolphins. I saw nothing of the sort. The boats just tried to anticipate where the dolphins were swimming to so that the folks that wanted to see them in the water had a good view. Nobody got close to the dolphins to harm them. That being said there were over 20 dolphins when we went. We also went snorkeling on a small reef, that had lots of small fish and crabs. We got dropped off on another beach that had many shops selling souvenirs. On this trip everyone gets wet. I was the only one with a waterproof bag so I was fine.

The captain and guide were very lovely and did their best to make the tour as good as could be. Good value for money. Mnemba island was beautiful but very busy with lots of boats everywhere. Lots of dolphins to be seen but they have zero interest in swimming with you (can’t blame them being chased around by loads of boats all day)

Really lovely morning spent snorkelling with dolphins and around the local coral reef. Was a great experience to be in the water with the dolphins and look down on them swimming together (often getting even closer than expected). The coral reef also has so many varieties of beautiful fish to see. The company (Captain Barnabas tours) was very good from start to finish: easy to communicate with before booking, picked us up on time at our hotel in a nice air conditioned vehicle and really good guide & boat captain on the day who ensured we all had a great time. The huge fruit platter on the beach afterwards was a nice touch. A very memorable trip overall :)

Best Trip we have been on

It was the best trip me and my partner have been on. We’ve been to 14 countries snorkeling now and nothing compared to the reef seen on this trip. The amount of wild life that you’ll experience during this trip is unreal! The dolphin me trip. We were lost for words! You are literally swimming amongst them in their natural habitat. As for the company and the trip itself it was also amazing. The staff are so pleasant and easy going. You are in control of the day. They ensure everyone has their full experience before moving onto the next part of the trip and you are so well looked after. We cant believe the price of this trip we could happily pay double or even triple for what he experienced. Thank you!

Dolphins, snorkelling and fruits!

We had a great time with our 3 kids and got many opportunities to swim next to the dolphins as they pass by. After the dolphins we had a nice snorkelling experience at the corals and finally fruit on the beach. The crew was very nice and helpful.

Hassan and Osman were such great guides. They gave us the chance to see the dolphins so close, while snorkeling with them, prepared fresh fruits for us at the sandbank and were exceptional Kind all day. We definitely can recommend this tour 10/10
