Captain Sid was very knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit about the ecology of the area. Lots to see osprey, turtles, alligators and peacocks at the dock

The Waccamaw River Nature & Wildlife Tour was absolutely serine, beautiful and interesting. One caution though as a person of color. I suggest the tour guides refrain from telling the story of the people of West Africa, who were violently captured and enslaved against their will. They did not accompany the Colonist for a tour of the America’s looking forward to a life of enslavement. It was just unnecessary to tell and uncomfortable to hear. It was an horrific time in the US. Let’s tell the truth and continue forward.

Captains Michelle and Sid are professional, funny and extremely knowledgeable about their environment. This tour should be on EVERYONE'S list of things to do in the area, especially if you have kids. The birds, turtles and gators on the river are awesome.

Cruising on fresh water in a swamp, seeing osprey, turtles, snakes, cypress trees, vultures, a large American alligator, and hearing all the stories about the Waccamaw River and Socastee Creek area along with the history of the Intracoastal Waterway and the influence of rain and wind on animals, people, and plants was all fascinating to us Oregonians.

The cruise was phenomenal. We loved every minute of it! We learned so much, saw alligators, osprey, egrets, huge turtles, etc. The Captains were so sweet and knowledgeable, as well as hilarious! We had so much fun! Thank you Captain Rick, Bella, and the other fabulous Captain (I am terrible with names, so please forgive me—I remember Rick’s name only because he is Bella’s Dad). Not a lot of familiarity with the inter coastal waterway. Not living near the ocean and being introduced to something I’ve heard about but never spent time thinking of it made it that much more interesting. The guide was entertaining. A little corny at times but not over the top. I recommend it for everyone

This was a fun, fact filled tour. Both the captain and 'crew of one's were kind, helpful, knowledgable and possessed a great sensr of humor. Although we didn't see an abundance of wildlife-only because of the time of year we were here, we enjoyed learning about the river, it's wildlife as well as the habitat. We will definitely go again...and again, and again! Super fun experience!

First of all, we paid $38 for the trip booking on line, only to find out it’s $31, according to the price on the wall when we arrived to depart. The tour was well organized, but the tour guide talked from start to finish, making it hard to relax and enjoy the trip. The tour covers a small portion of the river (perhaps to conserve on fuel), and you see very little wildlife.
