  • How far in advance should I book?Preparing a customized tour requires some time, especially if reservations for restaurants or other venues are required. We recommend making a reservation as early as possible. Ideally, it should be 3 months before your travel date, or 1 month before the travel date at the very least. Once we receive your booking and your answers from the Custom Tour form, we will begin putting together your Itinerary Sheet and will start arranging your tour guide, buying tickets, making reservations at venues for your tour, etc.
  • If you cancel the tour any time after we have sent you the custom Itinerary Sheet, the service fee of 15% of your total tour cost will be nonrefundable.
  • If your cancellation falls within the fees applied to the Standard Cancellation Policy, the service fee of 15% will no longer take effect. You will only be responsible for the cancellation fee specified in the Standard Cancellation Policy. Please carefully review the terms and conditions specified on the checkout page.

  • PLEASE FILL OUT THE TOUR FORM: After your booking, you will receive a link to the Nagano Form (within 48 hours) that asks for pertinent information required for this booking. Please ensure that this Nagano Form is completed accurately at least 7 days before your tour date.
  • For those who would like to explore neighboring areas such as Matsumoto, Kamikochi, Hakuba, or other neighboring areas with a tour guide and private vehicle, the option is available as an add-on when you receive our form after you make the booking. This was a great tour with our guide, Hiroaki Horiuchi-san. It was a lot of fun going to the monkey park, seeing Obuse, eating delicious food and trying local sake, and staying in a ryokan. Highly recommend this experience!

Toru was just amazing. The planned a personal itinerary for us and ensured we saw everything ! He even stopped at a local soba place for lunch!
Wonderful time, wonderful guide in Nagano

Our guide Wei Wei who met us at Nagano station was perfect for this trip. Wei Wei was very knowledgeable on Nagano, besides the sights, she also made sure we tried local delicacies. For lunch she took us to a really nice Soba restaurant with a perfect view of a Japanese Garden. She also let us know the great Japanese artist Hokusai spent his last year’s in Nagano and there is a museum with his work. She took us there even though it was not on our itinerary because we were interested. We also had local chestnut deserts. Wei Wei picked out a really nice cafe for that feat and marked sure we also enjoyed the local apples and juice. Overall I am very satisfied with Wei Wei, her attention to details, ability to accommodate and local knowledge.
great value for money and our guide wei wei fan was very lovely

early start from Tokyo to get to Nagano station but well worth it. Picked up from the station by our friendly guide Wei. Driven around in a private car. Saw a huge temple and walked around the village. Highly recommend the "spicy ice cream". Wei took the time and effort to get to know us. Even took us to a recycle shop as an impromptu at my request. Drove us to the chestnut and apple prefectures. Roasted chestnuts were huge and delicious. The soba for lunch , also a treat to the tastebuds. the walk up to see the monkeys was beautiful- entrace fee included. Though there was no monkeys on the day we visited, they are wild so no grudges there. HIghlight was the ryokan stay. The dinner was just an experience in itself- all 12 courses of it. the public onsen was absolute bliss- plus additional private onsen included as well. the breakfast the next day was a nice touch. with everything included in this private trip, I say you get a lot of bang for your buck.
Snow Monkey Adventure with a Traditional Japanese Night

Our guide Ilhom was very friendly and knowledgeable and was happy to suite the itinerary and show us things to our interests - whilst the tour offers set destinations was still time to venture off along the way. Snow Monkey Park was amazing, such a cool experience for all ages who have never seen before. Note there can be quiet a walk depending on the weather and which carpark is open. Japanese Ryokan was quiet an experience, recommend to research 'Ryokan' prior to ensure you have a full understanding - not all hotels offer private or western bathrooms - food was definitely a traditional experience. Considering how you are travelling after the tour the next morning as local train is 1hour + from Nagano Station - especially when you have lots of luggage.
      Teriffic Tour!

Ilhom was an excellent, warm and friendly guide. Not only did he know the best time for viewing the snow monkeys (when they were most likely to be bathing in the hot springs), but he also took us to some excellent places to try local delicacies, including for the best Karaage chicken we’ve ever had. Ilhom was terrific company, and we were sorry to say goodbye to him at the end of the day. The Ryokan he arranged for us was very good - lovely, helpful staff and very comfortable rooms. There is also a fantastic private onsen on the roof, available for bookings. All up we had a very enjoyable couple of days - the tour was excellent value for money and we highly recommend it.
A great way to experience a unique place

We are normally fairly independent travellers but decided with 3 small kids in tow that this tour suited us. We were picked up from Nagano station and had a great day with Fan who was knowlegable, helpful and fun. She juggled our day to fit in all we wanted to do, finishing at the 4/5 star Aburaya Tosen Ryokan which was very close to the snow monkey park. The Ryokan was exceptional, expensive and worth it. Food, servise, onsen and lodgings were awesome and felt very traditional. Highly recommend it.A few things to note:-The snow monkey park is about 1.5km from the closet parking. A lovely walk through a pine forest builds anticipation, but bear in mind for little kids. I think it adds to the experience-Yudanaka is about an hour by slow but scenic train from Nagano. Not a problem but worth knowing. As the tour aspect is just one day (they should change the title as others have mentioned) most will need to use it to get back. Its a cool 1980s bullet like train that rambles its way back to the very modern Nagano station.-The confirmation process with Trip Advisor was a bit clunky and i ended up stuck on the phone longer than i would have liked. Was really just a miscommunication between them and the tour provider. Wouldn't put me off though. This tour was a highlight of our recent family trip and our guide really made it even better.
Great Day in the Nagano Area

Everything about the day was fantastic! Fan was so nice and friendly, it was easy to have casual conversations with her. At the same time, she also gave the wife and I space as we walked around to take in the sights. Fan was so helpful in answering questions and helping us with the communication barrier at the local stops. Overall, it was a fantastic time and one of the many wonderful experiences from Japan my wife and I will remember!

The private tour experience was fantastic, and Ilhom was a gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. We visited all of the locations listed in the description of the tour, and Ilhom explained many facts about each location and waited patiently if we wanted to go off-script and take extra pictures or see something along the way. He brought us to a local ice cream shop that was one of his personal favorites - it was great! We visited neat little stops and snack places, and at the major sites such as the Snow Monkey mountain, our guide patiently waited as we took all of the time we wanted to our heart's desire. This was extremely important, as it was our primary purpose for the tour, and not once did we feel any rush. We truly got everything we wanted out of that visit. The one night at the Ryokan was an excellent experience, too - highly rated if you have not experienced a Ryokan before. The hosts were extremely gracious and the dinner/breakfast was exceptional. Thanks for a great trip!

The tour guide was amazing and chilled. First day we visited Zenkoji Temple, Obuse townvery peaceful and beautiful town, sake and wine tasting, visited as park with full of cherry blossoms with lake and Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park. Later he dropped us at Ryokan. The hot spring bath and the dinner was amazing. The Ryokan host was a sweet lady. Second day we had opted for Matsumoto castle most beautiful with cherry blossoms with all its glory and Wasabi farm visit. All the snow covered mountains and wasabi farm with fresh river water flowing with cherry blossoms in full bloom , felt like heaven on earth. The tour guide also made a stop at strawberry picking place on request and we had the best strawberries of my life. Overall a very pleasant experience in the most beautiful town in Japan which is not too crowded with tourist and will be remembered in our hearts for long times. Thank you for organizing such beautiful pleasant and peaceful trip : lots of love :
