Viator needs to update the details for this trip. It is not a tour; it is merely a bus ride with no guide whatsoever. The two workers on the bus did not speak English, and this excursion literally will dump you off at each site, with ZERO history or guidance given. Most of the site have signs only in Japanese so I only understood where we were and the nature the places by Googling the location as we drove by road signs. Villages are cute to see, but they are filled with souvenir shops and restaurants so combined with no historical context for the places, trip is a waste of time and money. And despite the ticket saying a Bento box lunch is provided, it is not.

It was a fun experience. The bus stopped at many places for us to explore which was also nice. Overall, the trip was very enjoyable and would recommend it to friends and family.

Shirakawago is very beautiful! Best if the tour can spend more time there. Can skip Hachiman and stay longer in the other 2 places. The tour includes a bento for dinner on bus. But it didn’t happen even the tour guide had no idea about it. Other members on the bus were come from another travel agents with a AUD20 cheaper package cost without the bento. I think Viator should refund the cost of bento to me.
