We pick up from most Negril hotels and other accommodations. You must contact your local supplier at the number provided at least 24 hours prior to the day of the tour to confirm your hotel or central pick up point.

What To Expect

Begin your tour with an early morning pickup from your Negril hotel and relax on the journey to Jamaica’s South Coast. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views as you climb through the mountains and learn more about local life in Jamaica as you drive through rural villages and lush farmlands.

The first stop of the day is at YS Falls, a dramatic seven-tiered waterfall in the heart of the rainforest. Hop aboard a jitney (shared bus) pulled by a tractor for a short, thrilling ride through the forest, then enjoy some free time to explore the natural wonder. Perhaps dive in to swim beneath the falls, swing on the Tarzan rope, or get your adrenaline pumping on the zipline canopy (extra cost).

Continue to the Black River, where you’ll enjoy a typical Jamaican lunch (included) at the Riverside Dock restaurant, then head down to the riverbank to begin your cruise. Set sail aboard a pontoon boat for an hour-long cruise along the river, and look out for wildlife such as crocodiles, eagles, and egrets as you cruise downstream.

On return to the dock, your driver will be waiting to take you back to Negril. Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Worth the time and money

Clive (the driver) was fun and knowledgeable and even stopped for us to be able to buy some sunscreen from a local place and avoid the resort prices, although the cheapest sunscreen was actually at YS Falls' gift shop. The drive from Negril was roughly 1.5 hours and you get to see a lot of the island. There are tour guides when you get to the falls, they try to keep you moving to avoid groups getting bunched up and crowding the various pools, try to go early in the day to avoid the crowds. The lower pools are fine for enjoying the experience so you can get through the upper pools first and relax later. There is also interesting wild life and scenery to explore as it is very much like a public park in the States. The lunch at the Black River tour was great. Fried chicken with pineapple sauce, red peas and rice, and curried goat are served buffet style belong side Papaya juice and water. You only get one trip but they serve you enough that you won't need another. The tour is fun and you'll see some crocodiles and fish and birds, the more questions you ask, the better it will be.

Fantastic experience at the falls with lots of photos taken for us, the falls are stunning and would have liked to spend more time there. The river safari was chill and the guide knowledgeable. Also did the zip line at the falls and this was great! Our driver Razor was friendly and the vehicle clean and comfortable Overall a fantastic day out!

Troy was the best tour guide ever! He showed us local spice trees & leaves along the way. Gave info on each parish that we drove through to reach the falls and safari. Answered all of our numerous questions about his country. Guide at YS falls assisted us in climbing and even took photos with our phones. Beautiful area around the YS falls and we swam in the mineral pools. Excellent local lunch at the safari dock. Knowledgeable boat guide show us crocodiles that came right up to the boat. Tons of local birds. Get off the resorts and experience the wonders of Jamaica!

Didn't get to go. They cancled saying due to weather. Now I'm waiting for refund. At least they let us know by email the night before

Both black river and YS falls are well worth visiting. Been before on a Tui tour and loved it, but was the only boat not to see the crocodiles so had to come back. Expected a bus full of people but ended up with a guide and one other couple in a SUV car. Bit akward as had to sit separately (as other couple would not move the whole trip there and back). Driver started off with a little knowledge but soon lapsed into silence, then watched his video and answered his phone while drinving. We visited YS falls first and were told it would only take us 1 hr in there. Friends staying with us went on the Tui tour and spent a lovely 2 hours going up the falls, in the gift shop and cooling down in the beautiful pools. We felt rushed, and had to keep finding the other couple as he told us to come back alltogether. The Tui tour did Black River first, which allows you extra time at YS (which is needed). He spent most of the journey stopping off for his lunch/shopping (3 stops in all) I didn't pay £20 more than the Tui tour to come back 3 hrs earlier and spend the journey doing his shopping. Will definitely do the trip again, but will go with Tui. Our friends said their rep gave them loads of info all the way and engaged everyone and was really funny. Got to see the crocodiles though.

YS Waterfalls was a nice place to visit. The staff was awesome with maneuvering you over the slippery rocks and with the rope swing. They take pictures and video for you. The Black River Safari was a waste of time. As previously stated in the reviews boring float down the river, but we saw plenty of alligators. Maybe a little music and better commentary from guide will help liven up the tour. The lunch at the end was good. Our driver Razor was really good. He made the experience more enjoyable by stopping at local eateries. We were able to try the pepper shrimp, coco bread, and some spicy fish. Great customer service was provided by all!!

The most beautiful tourist attraction that I seen my entire trip. The first location is where the Falls are located along with other spring mineral pools- which makes the whole area ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. The Black River excursion was very breathtaking and informative! Staff for both excursions were very polite and hospitable!

The guide, Clive, was great and informative. The ride was a little long, but the trip was well worth it. The falls are spectacular and the water was refreshing. The areas around the falls is very well kept. Safari was very good also, saw lots of crocs up close. Overall, must do tour when in Negril.

It was all fantastic. The waterfall was wonderful and the pools were lovely. Our guide took MANY photos for us. I got some great photos of the crocodiles along the river ride.
Not worth it

This was the only negative experience we had during our stay in Jamaica. The process was disorganized, our poor driver was sent to multiple wrong locations. Once we finally arrived, we missed the tour and had to wait for another one. The river boat is boring. We saw a handful of crocodiles and some birds, that was it. The boat captain was pleasant and informative, that was the positive. At YS falls we were dropped at the entrance without any idea of where to go, what to do, or who to do it with- we were left completely alone to figure it out. The falls are small with limited access to the water. We did go on the rope swing, even my youngest who is 10, it was very mild and easy for all of us to do. Our driver, Ranger, was the best driver of the entire trip. He gave us so much history and information about Jamaica and the people during our drive- very much appreciated. I needed an ATM also and he went out of his way to accommodate us. He was the highlight of our day.

Amazing. 5 Star Service. Everything was seemless. Jenieve picked us up and helped me find grater cake, Alicia took us to the ATVs and helped me up when I fell, Gilbert went out of his way to make sure our pictures were on point, Leroy help me gently jump into the river and get back out again safely. The vegan meal was the best meal ive had since I arrived in Jamaica. Wish I had discovered Rastasafari sooner and had brought more spending cash with me.

My husband and I really enjoyed the beautiful sights and rope swinging in the waterfalls! Seeing all of the crocodiles on the safari was really cool too, however, we had to wait until afterward to each lunch and were very hungry during the boat ride. It was also a 1.5 hour drive each way, so you have to be willing to spend a large part of the day in the car.
