    Not worth the money
    ashley_p, Mar 2024
Expensive for what it was. But everything in the bahamas is very expensive. The experience is a boat that takes you to a small island where you're on your own to explore until the time comes to take you to another island to see the pigs. The first island is nice and lunch is provided chicken and fish rice and veggies but drinks are expensive and not included. There's a small area to swim but it's over crowded from other tourists. Not enough kayaks and paddles to go around a d the area to use them is extremely small so getting hit by a kid trying to paddle board is normal lol. The pigs is not what I expected. It's about a 20 min experience even though you're there for about 45 min. They give you a cup with 4 small cubes of apple to feed a pig. They go through it very fast and they don't go in the water if it's not a calm day out. So not worth all the money to pay to pet a pig and feed it 4 small cubes of apple. Also if you have bad knees and can't climb up about a 4 foot drop to get on and off a boat beware. There were a handful of elderly that really struggled and needed alot of help to get on and off. Not handicap friendly.
Fun experience with a few snags

Getting interactions with the pigs was a free for all since the group was so big. Some of the larger pigs were intimidating but overall this was a fun experience. My one downside is I didn’t book through my cruise line (booked viator) and different people kept telling me different things/ directing me to other areas so I felt like I was going in circles at times. Overall this was a great experience
    Tourist trap for lazy sunbathing
    Christina_G, Nov 2023
It is extremely rare for me to write a negative review but I really did regret going on this excursion. The whole thing felt a bit disorganized from the start with people who booked different activities all on the same boat. More importantly, the „swimming pigs“ were not swimming. They are farm animals who have to be lured towards the water with food and then, they walk in the surf a little bit. Don’t get me wrong - I like that the owners keep the pigs around, even when they get older instead of slaughtering them and replacing them with cute piglets. But I do feel the ad pictures are very misleading. There are maybe 2-3 smaller pigs and a bunch of huge ones. The pigs do not enjoy being held, so nobody got to hold one. People (and I mean, huge masses of them) also only wade through the water with a bit of food…there is no „swimming with pigs“ (might be for the best though, seeing as several pigs defecated in the water.) I will say that the crew was very nice and enthusiastic about the activity but certain tourists hogged the pigs and never let anyone else get a turn to get better pictures. After maybe 25min, we returned to Pearl Island and I originally decided that the slight disappointment about the pigs should be forgotten…after all, I had also booked this tour to go snorkeling because the island was supposed to have nice corals. Now, yes, the ticket does specify that no guided snorkeling tour is included. But I didn’t realize that even when you bring your own equipment, you are entirely banned from the snorkeling area. I was sent back to the beaches and checked out both sides, seeing absolutely nothing. Pearl Island is a nice enough beach resort if you enjoy just slashing around in the water and sunbathing. But that’s all you can do (or everything else costs extra). The straw market is completely overpriced. Despite the high excursion price, not one drink is included and the lunch is just okay. If you’re staying in a hotel without a nice beach, sure, go for a day on Pearl Island (though I would do the beach day only). But for me, it was a waste of a day as my hotel has free access to the Atlantis, which has nice enough beaches as well as a bunch more things to do (and I missed out on that day entirely because the excursion ended more than a full hour late which meant I no longer got access.) I wouldn’t do it again, let alone for that price.
    Pig encounter

The pig experience is super short and chaotic but worth it to do once in your life :) The pigs are actually super sweet. The private island was nice and had lots of places to relax and lots of shaded areas which was nice because the sun gets pretty strong. The lunch was better than expected. I didn’t have the chicken but I thought the fish was really good. I’m glad I did it but wouldn’t go again. Every single person who worked on the boat and the island was extremely friendly and helpful.
    No snorkeling as described

Well for the 5 h excursion they just take you to an island just 20 min away and then to the pig beach which is 5min only and back to the same island... the pig adventure was amazing which was about 40 to 50 min but the rest of 3h is just killing time in the beach. The staff was amazing but it's not worth paying this much for this tour

    Easy enough to find...

Easy enough to find coming off the cruise port. Travel organization between Pearl Island and back to cruise port, was not great.
    Late start great finish

This particular tour guide's pig experience was exceptional. The entire tour itself was average and didn't come off to a great start as the checkin agent was 45 min late and we lost that time to spend on Pearl Island. Pearl island has some interesting snorkeling off the beach with a sunken boat, airplane, and statues. The food was also decent. The crew that took us from Pearl island to Athol island for the pig experience was by far the best service and experience you could expect. They were courteous, professional, and very active in trying to ensure you get all the pictures and interactions with the pigs as much as possible. Most of the pigs were piglets with a few adolescents, so it was easier to manage. The tour didn't start of great but it definitely ended great thanks to the staff running the pig experience.
    Great pigs!!!

Overall this excursion was fun. It had a few hiccups which caused for a few less stars. Upon arriving to the marina as instructed to check in we had to wait more than 45 minutes for staff to arrive. Once they arrived there was no organization with the check in process. Once checked in we had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour for a boat to arrive. Once it was there they told us the max amount of passengers was 25 and then proceeded to fill the past the max. Once on pearl island we waited around until our time to go see the pigs. While we waited we had lunch that was suppose to come with water and soft drinks but we were told we had to purchase that. Once on the island with the pigs it was AWESOME!!!! We were able to hold, feed, and pet the pigs. Best part of the excursion. When we were ready to leave we were again met with crowds of people trying to get on boats to get back to the marina. Overall not a bad excursion just needs to be way more organized.
    Fun with the Pigs

Swimming pigs, would've thunk it. They really swim out to take food from you and on the beach some of them will roll over like a dog when you rub their bellies. Fun experience for all.
    Disappointed
    Denise_N, May 2023
The lunch was really poor They rushed 70 of us on a boat to the beach and gave us 1 hour to take the pics. They don’t give you any drinks or even a bottle of water. They do t share informations or at least pick up hours.
    Fun Fun Fun !!!

This was a one of a kind experience. The pigs were so gentle and cute. They loved to swim out and get treats. I also got to hold a piglet that was so sweet. I highly recommend if you get a chance to try it………Do It! ❤️
    Highly Recommend - Pig Beach

My family had a wonderful time, esp. my daughter who adores pigs. I appreciate the thoroughness of the planning including pre-piggy safety instructions and guidelines on what to do and not do. The snack for the pigs was a big bonus, attracting the pigs to be near you. My daughter also held a pig, and these pigs were well-trained. For example, no one in my family got bitten. It was a fun activity on a nice beach.
    An absolutely great...
