Worth the walk
John_R, Apr 2024
We signed up for this tour a couple of years ago but had to cancel due to illness. It was worth paying for it again. The guide was super knowledgeable and kind. It’s an amazing story.
So Much Great Knowledge!
ewa_p, Apr 2024
AJ was amazing! SO much knowledge , the tour should have been 4 hours long he crammed so much information into so little time. Loved going to the transportation museum after, it made for an even deeper dive! AJ, if you read this please e mail or text me, I have a question about doing a private tour next time.
Great gift for train lovers!
MariaJose_F, Mar 2024
Alexis is a great guide very enthusiastic and with tons of knowledge! Highly recommend this tour if you are interested in learning more about the subway history!
Great tour
Kevin_M, Mar 2024
Excelente tour. Ryan was a fantastic and knowledgeable tour guide. We would definitely do it again! We would be interested in another tour maybe the Brooklyn tour. We will be back!
Response from Host, Mar 2024

Finding Hidden Gems
Mark_S, Mar 2024
AJ was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and obviously had a personal interest in the history and workings of the NYC Subway system. The material can be hard to follow if you are not already a little familiar with the system. It was fun to see the art installations that are "hidden" in plain sight in the stations.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hi Mark, I think you for taking the time to leave a review. And I appreciate the feedback about the material, we'll be sure to pass that along to AJ. Be well!
Phenomenal History Tour
Bentley_S, Jan 2024
Alexis is extremely knowledgeable about the subway history in New York. This tour is a must for history buffs because she not only tells about the subway system over time but also the social and political culture that played a part in the evolution of mass transit.
Back to the past
Rachel_S, Jan 2024
This visit was very interesting. Our guide was fantastic. She told us about the history of the metro and we were able to see photos from the past. After a 20x in NYC, I look at the subway and its details with attention and fascination. It was like going back to the 1900s. Thanks for a great time!
Fun subway tour
Martina_M, Nov 2023
My family and I had such a good time on this tour. He was engaging and very informative. My usually hard to please teens thought it was cool.
Great Guide
Peter_B, Oct 2023
AJ was great, very knowledgeable. Was great as a small group more personal. Would recommend this tour and AJ!
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thanks Peter, we appreciate it and we’ll let AJ you enjoyed it as well. Our best to you!
Marcy_M, Oct 2023
Content was too rich and the seeing the history was too light. We would have wanted to see more of the old subway.
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Hi Marcy, I thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback for us. I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind reaching out to us for two reasons, one we would like to know more about the rich content as opposed to seeing the history. Since the NYC subway system is always evolving over its 120 years we try to show the history as best we can. I would love to know what was lacking and what you would like to see more of. Also I would just like to be able to the situation right considering you felt you had an average experience. Please contact us at and we can do that for you. My best!
Best 2 hours of my 5 day visit!
Kira_S, Oct 2023
The guide, AJ, was incredibly engaging and clearly extremely knowledgeable about the NYC subway and subway systems worldwide. His excitement was palpable. I wished the tour was longer. I'm for sure booking another tour next time I'm in NYC.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Kira, thank sooo much for this amazing review. The title says is all and we are so happy you thought so about the tour. We look forward to welcoming you again the next time you're in NYC. Take good care!
Great underground subway tour!

Scott_H, Aug 2023
A very enjoyable tour. Informative with lots of gems about the growth of the subway system, the artwork and how it contributes to the economic landscape of the city.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Awesome review Scott! I thank you for it. So glad you enjoyed your subway tour experience with us. Cheers!
Great tour
acfils, Aug 2023
Loved seeing the stations that are no longer accessible. The tile work at each station was really cool.
Response from Host, Aug 2023
Awesome! Thank you and thrilled you enjoyed your Underground Subway Tour. Take good care!
Interesting, maybe upgrade
Steve_C, Jul 2023
Interesting history, knowledgeable guy. Expected to see more of the abandoned stations rosin just a whiz by.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Hi Steve, thanks for the review and for the feedback. We understand the stations do go by quickly on the train, but we also think the inherent value of the tour is that now you know they are there and can seek them out over and over again on your own. Thank you for joining us and take good care!
I think it is a little...
Steven_R, Jul 2023
I think it is a little misleading, because we thought we were going to be able to walk the ghost subway stations rather than just whip past them. Great info otherwise
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Hi Steven, we're happy you enjoyed the information given on the tour and we apologize if you felt misled. We do try to make it as clear as possible that you will see abandoned stations most New Yorker don't know exist but not enter them. It is illegal trespassing and dangerous for the public entry otherwise. Again we appreciate your review and thank you for your feedback. Please take good care!
Subway tour is a good experience.
Marcia_B, May 2023
Very nice history of the subway. Our guide AJ was knowledgeable and thorough, Too much standing while listening. I would recommend finding locations that participants can sit.
Response from Host, May 2023
Hi Marcia, we appreciate the feedback. We always try to keep our tours moving so we will work with AJ to do just that. The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) makes it very difficult to find places to sit in the system (besides inside the trains) but will definitely work on it. My thanks to you!
Not a great tour
Peter_K, May 2023
Didn’t really see much about the subway system. Didn’t learn about how the subway evolved enough. Very rough overview
Response from Host, May 2023
Hi Peter, I greatly appreciate the feedback. I see you were booked on the tour yesterday with our guide Alexis who has consistently excellent reviews for this tour and others, so this definitely comes as a surprise. I would love to hear more specific details on what you wanted to see and how we can improve. Please reach out to us at and let us know and we will try to make this experience right for you. All my best!
Subway History!
Woody_W, May 2023
Loved the history. Fascinating! The only critique I had was in the beginning when starting off with telling the story of it's history that there need seating. Other than that it was great.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thanks for leaving a review Woody and we apologize for the lack of seating, it is very hard to find a place to sit in the beginning of that tour as the MTA prohibits in at Fulton Center but we have taken your feedback in and we will see what we can do to improve. Thanks again and glad that you enjoyed the tour overall. Be well!
NY City Subway Tour Fun and Well Done
Kurt_E, May 2023
Very interesting and well done tour of the NY City Subway system. It physically covered a few stations in lower Manhattan, Union Square to City Hall area. Great for anyone who likes the history of cities, city infrastructure, and public transit/ rail systems. Alexa was very well versed in subject matter, energetic, funny, and made the tour fun and informative. 1.5 hours was the perfect tour length.
Response from Host, May 2023
Hi Kurt, we're so glad you enjoyed our Underground Subway tour with Alexis. We'll be sure to share your kind words with her as well. Thanks!
