Depart from a central location in Osaka and climb aboard a comfortable vehicle for the transfer to Shin-Osaka station, where your futuristic bullet train awaits. Climb onboard and marvel at the vehicle’s incredible velocity during the ride to Hiroshima.

On arrival, continue the journey to Miyajimaguchi by vehicle or train then board a boat traveling to the majestic Sacred Island, a landmass hailed as one of Japan’s most beautiful landscapes. Disembark and discover the natural and cultural treasures of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed island with your guide. See the shimmering Itsukushima Shrine then revitalize with a delicious lunch in a local eatery (own expense).

Reboard the boat and cruise back to Hiroshima to reflect on the heartbreaking history of the region. Take a moment of contemplation at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a historical site near to where the atomic bomb exploded. See exhibitions that articulate the carnal destruction the bomb caused and marvel at the city’s regenerative recovery.

Finally, board a bus to the Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome), a skeletal structure that miraculously survived the 1945 attack. Return to the station for the exhilarating return journey on the bullet train, where the tour concludes.

It was an excellent tour, Sato, the tour guide was very professional and answer all our questions
Maria_M, Apr 2024
The island of Miyagama was a nice tourist experience. The visit to Hiroshima was very moving, and with Sato's help we understood every reason and consequence. I would recommend this tour with Viator, specially because gave us freedom to choose our lunch preference.
Amazing

I loved this trip. The tour guides were very organized to transport us from osaka to Hiroshima. I loved riding the Shinkansen experience.
Very interesting and excellent guide

I enjoyed Miyajima Island and the Shrine and the Hiroshima tour was well explained and very interesting.
Highly recommended if you only have one day to visit Hiroshima

My partner and I had a lovely experience. We learned so many interesting things from our guide Akiko. The trip is only scratching the surface of Hiroshima and Miyajima island given the time constaint, but totally worth it. The only thing we didn’t like was the fact that the group was rather large (10+ people), we had to wait multiple times and collect people from both Osaka and Hiroshima. On Miyajima we left the group and did our own thing and met the group at departure. This way we actually managed to see more of the island.
Great to see these places.

Our group of 10 had a great day. It could have been better if our tour guide spoke better English, but she was really nice and it was a good tour.
Well worth it!

Akiko is a national treasure, full of knowledge and enjoyed how she peppered in tidbits from her own life and experiences into the tour. It was nice not having to worry about transportation, we left from Osaka and they had guides who escorted us to the Shinkansen platform and off as well. Seeing the Hiroshima Memorial Museum is a MUST see!
Hiroshima and Miyajima

This is an excellent choice if you want to explore Japan a bit further. Miyajima island was fantastic with the gigantic Torii gate and the curious, wandering deers. Hiroshima was interesting from the historical point of view of WWII and a crude reminder of the horrors of war. Masako-san, our lovely tour guide, looked after ourselves to make sure we were all comfortable, she always answered any questions we had about the places we visited. Highly recommended!
Wonderful experience!
BRENDA_R, Nov 2023
Saw the Torii Gate at both high & low tide. Shrine was amazing, bring your walking shoes. The Peace Memorial was history lesson. Guide Keiko had many personal stories because her family were survivors. We can never allow this to happen again.
Memorable trip. No violence No more Hiroshima.

Hiroshima Automic bomb dome and Miyajima trip was memorable. Reading history is different but when you visit the place that experience touches your heart.
Hiroshima is a must

Fantastic moving experience. The guide was fantastic and very sensitive in her management of the group.
Lack of information
Sandra_T, Sep 2023
Tour guide needs to be more informative with clear details in regards to tour at hand. very soft spoke limited English which made it more difficult to understand.
Not to be missed while in Japan
MaryK_L, Jul 2023
Walking under the gate on Miyajima island and, while somber, the Hiroshima museum. Very educational.
Not worth it
Pilar_S, Jul 2023
Guide was not prepared she was literally reading; Tons of waiting time that could be optimized, it didn’t not worth the cost for a tour that we could do by ourselves
Rain delayed our train-...
Wendy_T, Jul 2023
Rain delayed our train- was very impressed with Kay’s dedication to follow us through until the end. Very professional and kind.
So worth it!
REGINA_C, Jun 2023
This was a most worthwhile excursion. Miyajima is stunningly beautiful and Hiroshima is solemnly breathtaking. The Tour Guide gave a good balance of guided time and free time to explore. She didnt rush us, managed the group really well and communicated effectively. When I booked this tour, I was hesitating because it's on the expensive side. But it's so worth it, especially when you consider that it includes round-trip Sinkansen tickets.
Great Day and Thanks to the Local Operator!
Michael_H, May 2023
I would really like to commend the local tour organizer JTB and it’s team for an initial problem that was largely of my making, and making sure that I got to the tour and had a wonderful day with our excellent tour guide, Hiro. Specifically, I had some initial confusion about whether the tour group at the meeting hotel was associated with Viator or not (my own fault; everyone else figured it out, but it might be nice to put the words “Viator” on the tour group signage). notwithstanding that, JTB, sent a person to come get me, make sure I got on the train, and then coordinated my pick up in Hiroshima. All way above and beyond. The tour itself was excellent and really appreciated them working hard to make sure I caught up with the rest of the group. Thanks so much.
Enjoy History at Hiroshima
Kalinga_Y, Apr 2023
Hiroshima memorial was the best part and Miyajima Tour was not very good as guide always in a hurry .The time given us not sufficient . We travelled from Osaka to Hiroshima ,but at Hiroshima got late to start the journey. So we have to cover all short comings . Hot san Guides has given good explanation and thanks for her.
I Would Recommend This Tour
Edwina_C, Apr 2023
It was a large group of 25 but everything went well. We were given enough time and our guide was very professional and kind and funny too. I would recommend this tour as it was good value for your money.
Peace makes the world...
WINKYAW_T, Apr 2023
Peace makes the world beautiful. Each of us has responsibilities to keep our family safe and secure. Similarly it is our job to ensure our environment remains peaceful in order.
Rainy day , knowlegable experience
Yvette_B, Apr 2023
It was a rainy day, but we were able to cover it all. We learned so much. Eye opening experience to the tramatic experience of war.
