While the ghost tour was amazing and I was thoroughly enthralled with the tales I was being told, what truly stood out to me was the commitment to safety the team showed me and my partner. Both of us are trans and despite our efforts neither of us pass as cisgender. While waiting for roll call one of the guides pull us aside and quietly informed us simply that we would be switched groups since another party had been making extremely bigoted remarks about us. After the tour our guide who goes by BJ pulled me aside a second time to ask that I stay a bit and let her escort us to our car. After talking for awhile she was happy not only to ensure our safety but she also helped us find my car as I couldn't recognize anything in the dark. Truly the team went above and beyond to ensure our safety and I'll never forget it. While this won't apply to most people who take the tour, I was still so touched by their dedication to comfort. I can't recommend this place enough

Fun, Entertaining with a little history

Took my two kids ages 15 and 12 along with my husband on the OBX ghost tour in Manteo last night at 7. It had been rescheduled from Tuesday night, due to weather, and they were super nice about it. Our guide was Tala, and she had a great recall of local history and lore. For those expecting a “spooky” or scary experience; this is not it (eg. Savannah, GA ghost tour in the dark), but it’s a pretty walk with entertaining local lore about hauntings and some history that speaks to the names of local places, etc. The guide engaged participants on the walk, told jokes and had a great recall of local lore. Good for kids.

We had a great time with our tour guide Laura. She had some interesting stories to share about the history of OBX. We had a 3 and 5 year old and they walked (no stroller) and sat while she told stories. It was a little over an hour so appropriate for kids. Nothing was too graphic for them.

Our tour guide Lara did such an amazing job at making history come to life during our OBX ghost tour! It was so interesting and the entire family had a great time! Also we took a stroller and had no problems getting around!

Nice hearing some of the history of our banks. Tama was our guide and a great story teller. Had small kids and they also invited the tour and was not afraid.

Spooky night of family fun in Manteo!

Our group of 9 had a blast on the tour despite the rainy drizzle the entire time…what could have been a miserable night because of the weather was awesome thanks to our tour guide, Beth! She is an amazing storyteller and each of us enjoyed the experience from ages 5-65! Beth also stuck around afterward to look through our photos and help us identify orbs or figures…she was the best! The kids had fun taking turns holding the EMF detector at each of the various stops and we even got some tips of places to visit and look for in other spooky spots. We hit up the Cora Tree in Frisco the next morning with our own little Cora and had fun exploring. Highly recommend the tour to families, even those with younger kids and even those hard to please teens and pre-teens! Excited to come back next year for our annual OBX vacation and check out some of the other places mentioned on the tour…thanks for a wonderful and memorable time!

Stephanie was awesome and the check in person was able to accommodate two of our extra guests. We’ve done this tour before and we always enjoy it. Nice to know that seating is provided for folks who need it as well as access to facilities. Thanks for providing a a fun and informative experience!
