What To Expect

Learn how Champagne is made, and at the end of this full-day tour, be able to answer: What is a Blanc de Blancs, a Blanc de Noirs? How is Champagne rosé made? Do ‘Grands Crus’ and ‘Premiers Crus’ exist in Champagne? Is there a specific Champagne terroir?

After early morning hotel pickup in Paris, travel with your knowledgeable guide and a small group of passengers east of the city. En route, bite into a flaky croissants while hearing about the winemaking region of Champagne and its heritage.

Arrive at your first Champagne estate of the day, such as Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Mumm, Lanson, Nicholas Feuillatte (depending on availability). Step inside cellars, walk through a maze of galleries and enjoy a tasting at the end of the guided tour. Come away knowing the secrets behind the méthode champenoise.

Back in your air-conditioned minivan, pass through the vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, Cote des Blancs, and Vallée de la Marne, between Reims, Ay, and Epernay. As you admire the colorful landscapes, learn how to distinguish the three different Champagne grapes: chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier.

Settle in at a family-run Champagne estate, enjoy a delicious meal of traditional food, paired with a Champagne tasting.

We had excellent champagne and a highly enjoyable lunch at one of the cellars. We met new people and had so much more fun than we ever thought we would. I recommend this tour highly.

Excellent tour of Champagne

This small, semi-private tour to three champagne houses in the heart of the Champagne region was an excellent day trip from Paris. Our family group of 6 (three adult couples) was joined by two additional travelers, and we had a lovely day. Our guide, Mathilde, was excellent. Her knowledge of the region, its products, producers, and culture gave us a great orientation to our experience, and she went above and beyond to ensure that we had an amazing visit. We visited three champagne houses, one of which included a delicious lunch, as well as a quick stop for pictures and a glass of champagne when the sun peeked out during an otherwise rainy and overcast day. An extremely helpful aspect of this tour is the fact that Mathilde picked us up at our Airbnb in the morning, which removed a layer of stress from the day - she even had fresh croissants for us (we knew immediately we were in great hands!) Overall, a truly lovely way to spend a day away from Paris, a great learning experience about a region, people, and product, and a nice way to spend time with travel companions but also a really good way for single travelers to enjoy a small group tour.

The tour guide was great, and the scenery was beautiful! I had a great time, but my wife wasn't feeling well so the guide was very understanding and did everything that he could to make sure she was comfortable. It was nice to travel with people that started as strangers but by the end of the day we were joking around like we were all good friends. Great time!

Great experience! Exactly as described. Our guide was Damien, and he was fantastic— extremely knowledgeable about the region and winemaking. Picked us up from our hotel in Paris, had a very comfortable ride to Champagne, and enjoyed a morning croissant with a glass of bubbly overlooking vineyards. After a tour and tasting at Mum, we had an amazing lunch with 3 more tastings at a small winery. After lunch we headed to a family run winery, Alain Mercier. The tour was given by the owner/ grandson of the founder. He was extremely welcoming and gave a great start to finish explanation of their wine making process. At the end, we enjoyed a relaxing tasting at a comfortable table, and he was generous with our tastings and selections. Highly recommend!

The tour was amazing and the guide, Bastien, made us feel more like family than tourist. His knowledge of the region and champagne was second to none. He was also very flexible and accommodating to all in the group and provided an outstanding service. If in Paris, a day with Bastien on the tour is as essential as visiting the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre.

Amazing Day Trip

The day trip to Champagne on Dec 20 was the highlight of my Paris holiday, our driver/champagne expert Bastien was so personable and knowledgeable in all things champagne and made sure everyone felt included and had a fantastic day. For me the visit to the Major Champagne house on our tour (Pommery) was the highlight, but the lunch and extensive tastings at the other two family champagne houses were also amazing. The visit to the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Reims and Bastien’s fun demonstration of Sabering a bottle of champagne whilst overlooking the vineyards were added bonuses! Whilst I went solo on this tour but Bastien and the two other couples on my tour made it feel like you were on a trip with friends. Pick up from my hotel then drop off near Hotel De Ville as advertised was very convenient, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough…especially if you enjoy champagne!

The guide Nicolas was great as were the tastings and lunch. We went to Veuve Cliquot, Collery and a cooperative. Only gripe is the drop off location was an hour walk back to our hotel loaded with bottles and memorabilia from the day. It would have been nice to get a little closer, considering the size of the tip we left.
