Overview

Explore St. Maarten independently in a 6-seater all-terrain buggy. You and five of your friends and family will meet up at the buggy depot for an introductory lesson on how to safely operate the buggy, then take off with the provided map to conquer the terrain. Renting a buggy allows you access to some of the rugged, off-road parts of the island that most traditional tours don’t visit.

This experience was truly unforgettable. Despite some confusion with the map, Apple Maps led us to all the incredible spots on the island. We had a blast exploring the beautiful beaches and other recommended locations suggested by the staff.

Getting to the facility was simple. Physical equipment was in fair shape, front tires were bald and engine was in sore need of a tuneup. This aside it was serviceable and was an enjoyable way to travel around the entire island. Fuel costs were extra but not unreasonable. Our group.of 6 enjoyed the view and open air driving.

Look for a different company if renting a 6 seater

We appreciated the friendliness of the staff, but the side by side was sooo loud that it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. We ride side by sides at home, this one was extremely loud (like a hole in the muffler).

Jessica, That is correct. The factory mufflers are not the best, so we have ordered some different ones to enhance d the experience and cancel the noise. Just takes time as everything here is imported. Thank you for the comment though, we are working on it.

What an amazing ATV adventure where we saw the entire island. We were picked up on time and dropped off immediately. We felt safe, no atv issues, just more used and dinged than we expected but that wasn't a problem.

Absolutely amazing. Very easy to navigate and enjoyed being on our time everyone was very pleasant to deal with worth every penny. We had a group of 10 and rented 2 6 seaters.

We were disapointed that we did not get the open 6 seater side by side which is what we booked and paid for. Had to take jeep instead. They filled up the gas tank for free which was appreciated.

Bust!

We rented a 6 person side by side. 10 minutes into our journey the muffler fell off and was so loud we could not drive it. Called the company. It took them an hour to come swap us out. They showed up with an Atv. So they had to go back and get us a side by side. After another 45 minutes we finally got a different side by side which was old and beaten at best. They gave us directions to go counter clockwise around the island, and that we had to be back by a certain time, because there was going to be a parade. Due to the direction in which they sent us and the breakdown we missed out on seeing anything that might’ve been good. By the way, there is nothing but poverty on 3/4 of the island when you go counterclockwise from Phillipsburg. What a bust for $400. And we had to wait in the heat with my six year old . I would never recommend this rental.

It took us 25 minutes to reach you the first time as you advised it was an ATV you had, not a buggy, and then it took me exactly 15 minutes to get to you with a replacement. We didn’t go back to get the replacement. The gentleman called so we could bring one right away while he waited with you. Also, we gave you correct directions, but instead of going through French side to Maho, you actually turned back to the starting point where the parade was passing. Also, it was not 400$ for the buggy, and on top of that we refunded you half because you couldn’t see the entire island because of the parade. Hope you don’t have to experience the poverty again, and thank you for the review.

This was one of the best excursions I could have planned! We toured the entire island, and went at our own pace. We went to multiple beaches, had an amazing lunch, and then we had the planes flying overhead, which was just incredible. The kids loved being in the dune buggy.

We really enjoyed driving around St Maarten on this ATV. We rented for the day while our cruise ship was docked and loved the freedom it provided. We drove around the whole island, stopping for pictures and checking out the beaches. It was well worth the money.

Beautiful island disappointing experience

This was not as advertised. The six seater side by side was more of a work type vehicle than what is pictured. After paying $300+ US dollars for the rental we also had to pay an additional $15 for gas plus put the gas in ourselves. Self guided was truly self guided. We were given a map of the island and told to go right at every roundabout we came to. The island was beautiful but the attention to detail and customer satisfaction given by this vendor was very disappointing.

The vehicle you received is exactly what was pictured. Exact picture on the listing, is exact vehicle received, so not sure what the difference is. The listing also says GAS is not included, which means you have to refill, just like any rental. Self Guided, means Self Guided, you go out on your own, it’s a rental, not a tour. And yes, at every roundabout you go to the right, takes you around the entire island, that’s correct, as we are a small island, hard to get lost, and it’s part of the experience of going out on your own, but thank you for the review, appreciate it.

Fun w friends in St Marteen

We had so much fun navigating St Marteen. We did run into a bit of a problem when we were driving thru pouring rain. Driving thru the rain wasn’t a problem. The map that is provided got wet and totally fell apart! I suggest that the maps be laminated. It will save on paper maps and are totally reusable.

Seek out better machines

This is truly a great way to see the island. Unfortunately, the equipment left a little bit to be desired. The tires were worn, some with no tread, and the gas tank was empty when we started our day. So, we had To find a gas station with an air compressor, and fill up the tanks, and air up the tires. The units have many miles on them, but amazingly run very well. I think they are still safe, it’s just that they are very worn out. The staff were very friendly, but not enough to overcome the negative impression left on us by their facility and the many non-functioning pieces of equipment stored there.

The vehicles are 2019, so no they do not have that many miles. Same like I advised your colleague we advised you to put fuel, as it was not included in price, and advised him where the gas station was, right next to the port. Non the less, thank you for the review.

Old machines

Machines are old - no gas when we got it had to get gas and air up 2 tires that barely had air. Tires on one of the rides were bald as can be. Gas pedal sticks so that was fun. I own a Viking and these machines are old and wore out. It is a great way to see the island but would not recommend this company

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We were full on said date and took a few machines from another company that had available. Great to hear this info, so we can better the service we provide. Won’t happen again! Also, fuel is not included, as we advised you when you arrived, and advised you to stop at the gas station which is 2minute from our location, so you had to bring it back with same 2 bars we gave you it with. Also, if you had any tire issues, you could have called for assistance, that’s what we are here for. Also, the tires are road tires, not off-road tires, so they may have seem balled, but we will look into this. Again thank you for the info.

The location "ATV Island" was difficult to find. The map wasn't very helpful. Also, the gas should be included in the rental - not worth $300!

Sorry you found it hard to find, but our GPS location takes you directly to the business, I do think that on the island the gps may not work as great as in other countries. The map is more or less a guideline on what spots to go to, as you may know it’s a bit difficult to navigate 37squaremiles merely on map. Thank you for the gas advise, we will take that into consideration.

The 6 Seater Side by Side Rental worked out exactly as described within their advertisement. A little bit of confusion on where exactly to meet at the port entrance, but no big deal. Julio, of ATV, seemed to be well known by all the guys at the Port gate. They contacted him for me and he quickly came and picked me up. It's only a minute or two ride over to where you pick up the rental. Julio was great with explaining the Side-by-Side and gave me great directions on where to go, and maybe where not to go too. The Side-by-Side handled perfectly with no hiccups at all. My only advise for taking one of these out, is to be sure you know where you are going. Research on Google Maps won't help you too much. VERY few of the roads have signs or number on them to let you know where you are or which road you're actually on. Be careful sightseeing while driving, as the native drivers will not tolerate you slowing down or leaving more than a few feet between you and the car in front of you... that's in my title, Honk and Go. They love using their horns here. St. Maartin, French and Dutch sides are still a mess from the last hurricane.. so be ready for that. But otherwise, the Side By Side is a great way to get around.

We really enjoyed our time driving around the island - the vehicle worked perfectly and dealing with the company was easy. I had two concerns that hopefully can improve the situation. The first is a better map along with directions to main attractions. The second is the gas situation, I would think for the price the gas should be included as it was inconvenient and difficult to buy gas on the island.
