Overview

Learn to scuba dive on a full-day adventure off the coast of Phuket. After pickup from your hotel, sail to Koh Racha Yai where you embark on two, open-water dives without any prior certification. Receive instruction, briefing, and guidance, before and during your dives from certified instructors. While in the water, you can observe tropical fish, colorful corals, sea turtles, and more. Hotel pickup and drop-off and two meals are included.

Pick up is free for these areas (Kamala 6.45am, Patong 7.00am, Karon 7.20am, Kata 7.30am, Nai Yarn 7.30am, Rawai 7.40am, Chalong Pier 7.45am). Other areas will occur extra fees.

  • Flying within 18 hours of diving is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (ex. asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
  • Minimum age is 10 years
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

This was one of the best experiences. Our guide, Pomme, made us feel comfortable and helped get rid of nerves before we got in the water. Everything was explained and easy to understand. Our guide took heaps of videos for us to capture our experience for great memories. Highly recommend this tour, even for beginners. Would do this tour again for sure.

Absolute highlight of our time in Thailand!

This was an absolute highlight of our time in Thailand! As inexperienced divers, our guide Pommé took the time to give us a thorough review of safety procedures and good practices. She is very experienced underwater and provides a calming energy for new divers. I had such a wonderful experience that I decided to come back the following days to complete my certification with Pommé! Would highly recommend this tour for divers at all levels!

We had an amazing experience with Racha Yai Private Scuba Diving! Booking was a breeze as they reached out via WhatsApp to arrange everything swiftly. The staff was exceptional - professional, calm, and ensured our safety and comfort throughout. Our dedicated instructor, Ohn, was lovely and even captured stunning underwater pictures for us, definitely worth the additional cost. The inclusion of breakfast and lunch added to the overall convenience. Equipment was in excellent condition, and we received thorough briefings before each dive. While the tour is on the pricier side, the quality of service and the incredible marine life we encountered made it worth every Baht. Highly recommend for a memorable diving experience!

Fun in Phuket

The boys and I book this trip from home and my expectations were not high. But from the pick up point to the drop off was an awesome experience. One instructor per every two divers. Thanks to ON and Woody for making this a memorable day trip. Woody’s instructions were so clear and he made me feel at ease at all times. My two boys had so much fun with On underneath from making circles with the water to funny poses. Beautiful photos to remember this day. But all the credit to the two best instructors- Woody and On! Felt like we made friends for life. They called us by name through out this whole journey and took personal care of us throughout. Thank you Woody and On!

It was the first time...

It was the first time scuba diving for my friends and I. It was a mix of excitement and nerves, but thanks to the friendly guidance of monitors Oliver and Ned, it turned out alright. We went underwater two times for more than a 1,5h. The option to buy underwater pictures for 1000 bahts per person was there, the pictures and videos turned out really nice. The food on the boat was ok. Despite my fear, the experience turned out to be really enjoyable, largely thanks to the supportive atmosphere created by Oliver and Ned.

Perfect tour for a beginner diver

I'd never tried diving before, and this was the perfect tour for me! You get collected from your accommodation, taken to the pier to get on the boat. Served a light breakfast and coffee on the boat. It takes 1.5hrs to get to the location. You then get a very detailed explanation of all the diving equipment, and how to dive, etc. The instructor was very knowledgeable, I had felt a little nervous but they completely put us as ease. You then get to the diving location, and the instructor let's you get in the water and start your descent at your own pace. You get to do two dives for about 30-40 mins each. Then you're served a buffet lunch onboard, and have another hour or so to swim and snorkel, before travelling back to Phuket. There's refreshments available during this time as well. Huge thanks to Olivier our instructor for being so patient and supportive. Tour is well run and good value for money.

It was one of the highlights of my trip. Our instructor On was absolutely AMAZING!! Patient, nice and funny. She made sure we were comfortable the whole day and took amazing videos and photos of the dives. Amazing food too! Best decision EVER

Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Shortly after booking the excellent communication started with Jean through WhatsApp. He made sure I had everything I needed and was prepared for my trip. The day of My instructor Ohn was a SUPERSTAR and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way and very patient (this is only my second time diving, and the other person in my group had never been). Even my driver to and from the hotel was super friendly and went out of his way to communicate with me to and from the dive. The food was amazing and they had plenty of options available (I’m a vegetarian and had no problems filling up). They even have medicine for you if you start to feel sea sick…, Absolutely the best experience and I highly recommend to anyone slightly interested in diving. Even if you’re a little scared or nervous to try it, you should. All those fears slip away once you’re underwater. I promise You won’t be disappointed.

Such an amazing experience! First time divers and our instructor On was patient, kind, and helpful. She made us feel comfortable and welcoming on the boat ride and during the dive. I would highly recommend this company and On as an instructor. Amazing photos and videos were taken and communication with the diving company was efficient!

Meh I’ve seen much better reef elsewhere

Great that you don’t need any experience diving or any certificate to do it. I was put with 2 other newbie solo travellers with 1 scuba instructor between 3 which I think was good. Any more and it would have been dangerous. The reason my rating is average is the reef was a bit boring and dead. I’ve heard of much better dive spots that have sunken ships etc and this one didn’t have anything. A few large cube structures that’s it. Perhaps this is better for beginners as less distractions and can focus on breathing in the equipment. However if you want to see some nice reef and cool fish don’t dive here. Ned was curt but I liked him. Photos cost an extra 1000 baht and weren’t that great but better than nothing.

This trip is made for beginners, with dive spots just right for newbies. It is safe and makes every first timer very comfortable. Since you've already done some diving, we suggest moving on from the beginner trip. Go for the Open Water and advanced licences. With those, dive centers can take you to "more advanced" spots like Shark Point, King Cruiser Wreck and Koh Dok Mai. These places are awesome, but they need extra training to explore safely. Luckily, in Phuket, we've got some great places for beginners to dive. These spots give newbies a chance to see amazing things underwater, like colorful coral reefs and tons of fish. After you try it out, the next step is getting a diving licence.

Great for a first-time Scuba diver. Hotel pickup was prompt and well communicated, then the briefing and instruction was clear and easy to understand. Then two dives amongst the coral and beautiful fish. Dives weren't too deep and everything felt very safe and controlled. Highly recommend to those who want to give diving a try. Good lunch and unlimited water included
