What To Expect

Go island hopping by Jet Ski on this small-group tour in Phuket, where you get to be in the driver’s seat (or your friend does). These are two-person Jet-Skis, so you can either go solo or invite a friend.

Your tour starts with pickup from most hotels in Phuket, and then you’ll be taken to your Jet Ski. After an instructional brief, you and your group will head out into Phang Nga Bay.

Explore up to seven different islands, which might include Naka Noi Island, Sop Island, Monkey Beach, Rang Yai Island, Bat Island, and more. You are, however, guaranteed to see monkeys on this trip. Your guides will keep their eyes out for them and point them out when they come out to play.

Highly recommended activity if you’re looking for something interesting to do! Sharing a jet ski with my partner was fun but if I could do it again I would love to have my own jet ski so I could drive the whole tour on my own :) The guides were nice, helped us take tons of photos. We loved this tour. It was a great afternoon and they take many photos for you. Lots of amazing views and fun on the sea. Visited several islands and had most of them all to our group so no crowds. The waves can be a bit big so if you’re scared to drive in those conditions it might not be for you.

Not for the faint of heart

Let me just start by saying the tour guides were very very friendly and no one got hurt. Having said that, the jet skiing experience is terrifying-- especially in the ocean. I do not recommend this for children-- they will have a very hard time hanging onto the jet ski for more than four hours. I shared a jet ski with my husband. At one point, we hit a wave and I fell off the jet ski. Somehow I managed to not fall into the ocean, but again to my point, I do not recommend this for children. That being said, if you are an experienced jet skier this might be a fun experience for you. We signed up for the afternoon session and started off with a 1.5 hour car ride from Kata Beach to the northern tip of the Pa Klok Thaland District. The car was a manual shift (lots of breaking) with very little AC. When we got off the car to check-in, it felt a bit unorganized. We didn't hear any directions, so we just followed along with the rest of the group by signing in and strapping on the life jackets (monkey see, monkey do). We were given a few rules (stay 10 meters away from each jet ski, do not do crazy jet ski moves, etc,) and off we went. We got on our jet ski and were split into two groups. Each group had two tour guides on one jet ski. Originally I thought we were split into two groups based on the tour we selected (4 hours vs 5 hours). By the end of the tour, I realized this didn't matter as we all left at the same time and came back at the same time. Of the 5 or 6 islands we visited, we docked at 4 islands (2 islands to take pictures-- 15 minutes each; the other 2 islands to rest and snack-- 30 minutes each). One of the jet skis in our group malfunctioned. The tour guides quickly switched jet skis with the guests. One of the tour guide stayed with the broken jet ski and the other tour guide climbed onto the back of a single rider jet skier. I have no idea how they recovered the broken jet ski and stranded tour guide but everything worked out fine as the tour guide was able to meet up with the group on the next island. At one point, we were concerned about the gas level (we had about an hour of skiing left and had less than half of tank left). We were told we had enough gas as long as we skied faster. The waves were getting pretty rough but we persevered out of fear of being stranded in the middle of the ocean. We finally returned to the original starting point 30 minutes after sunset started. If we stayed out another 15 minutes, we would have navigated the ocean in the dark. The overall jet skiing experience wasn't very relaxing nor did it feel very safe. The tour guides also told us that they would take many photos and share it with everyone. I followed their directions (added their Whatsapp before 8pm so that they can add us to a private group where the photos would be shared). However, only one of the group's tour guides uploaded the photos. Unfortunately, the tour guides in the other group (which we were in) did not upload any photos. I tired following up with emails and Whatsapp messages but we never got our photos. Very disappointing considering it felt like we risked our lives with nothing to show for it. I recommend taking your own photos when you can. Two stars, for the tour guides. They are very friendly people and work hard to keep the tour going. However, the jet skiing experience on the ocean may not be for everyone. Everyone's experience may differ depending on how difficult the waves are. If you are a novice but still want that jet skiing experience, perhaps the morning session will be easier (waves should be calmer).

Sure, JetSkis are fun and all but honestly not worth the time, money and energy. 1. Poorly organised from start to finish. Wait 40-60 mins after tour for ride back. Throughout the trip you will repeatedly be asked about your booking because they have no idea who is who and who booked what. Halfway through the trip one could was told they hadn’t paid for the right package and so had to hand over cash. 2. Pay for 5 hr package and you leave and return with the 4 hr package people. 3. There is no instruction or safety guidance at any point. 4. Most concerning, if you aren’t willing to go fast the guides will leave you in open ocean. While we were comfortable keeping at 50 mph + but not everyone is. If you fall behind the guides just yell to go faster. There is only one “guide JetSki” and they are only at the front so they don’t see if you are left behind. 5. The “ 7 islands” are not exactly islands. At best I would count 2 or 3 as islands.

Started almost 2 hours late (advertised for 12pm start). Distance between destinations was long and because of extended rests at stops, we needed to go about 50kph through choppy seas. Weather conditions not their fault but there should have been adjustments for time at stops.

This day was amazing as you got to ride around to different islands on a jet ski! It was lots of fun and the instructors were very good at taking lots of photos! Just note that if you book for two people under one name you only get one jet ski. I’d recommend booking under two different names to get your own ones if you want.

The two hosts were a delight. They gave great instructions in the beginning and allowed everyone to go at their own pace and then stop for folks to catch up to the group. Monkey Island was the highlight for me as an animal lover. Lunch was decent and the break was much-needed. I went as a solo female traveler and felt very comfortable.

Forced to pay for pickup in Patong

We had purchased 3 jet skis (6 people)and one of us wrote them telling them that we were all together. When the driver arrived he said he’s only supposed to pickup 4 people and that one of the reservations wasn’t included. There was space in the van for the other 2. The driver then called someone and she’s telling us on the phone they don’t have a reservation. We’re showing them the 3 tickets, then they say pickup was not included and it will be 1300 bahts for EACH (3)jet ski. Which made no sense since PATONG is included for pickup. After arguing for 30 minutes the driver dove us. When we arrive they put some woman on the phone again to tell us we have to pay 3900 total for transportation. We ended up paying because it was my birthday and we didn’t want to let them ruin our first day in Phuket. But this was totally ridiculous especially since there was another group of 4 black men that they also denied transportation in an area where pickup was included. As a person of color it is very sad that this happened especially since the other white people in our van told us the driver didn’t even get asked to show tickets. Also they don’t know how to communicate in English so it was impossible to try to get an explanation for anything. The jet ski tour itself was fun. But the experience with staff was absolutely horrible.

This didn’t get one star because our instructor was cool but let me start off by saying THE DRIVER and lady on the phone that instructs the driver are extremely racist. I went on Feb 21 and it clearly says transportation included and after the driver made a show about picking us up and also stopped the van in the middle of the road to tell me and my group to take a taxi when it’s an 45 min drive BUT wouldn’t give us the address and wanted us to split up. and also when my friend was trying to get into the car the driver slammed his foot with the door. and i also want to add that WE were the only BLACK people in that van and driver asked to see voucher but didn’t ask all the white people in the van for their voucher. MADE US PAY 3,900BAHT FOR TRANSPORTATION WHEN IT SAYS ITS INCLUDED and once we got to the place we saw another group of black people and they said that they did the same thing to them. IF YOURE SOMEONE OF COLOR GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

If you want to jet ski around this is perfect. You spend almost the entire time on jet skis. The tour guides were great and took a ton of pictures. You only get off on 2/7 islands. Lunch was disappointing, you had 4 options and they were all small servings of fried rice. When you arrive it is extremely disorganized. We were picked up late and our hotel was about 1 1/2 hours away.

I do not recommend this organisator.

Starting from poor organisation - we booked our trip 2 day before the date (I tried to contact them via viator - not responding) , we have been waiting for any info during that time, and after few calls we got info that the date is not available for us because they have enough jet ski.. So we decided to book in other date as the operator asked us. We got the new date and time. We were advised to be on meeting spot before 1 pm. We were punctual so we had to wait till 2.30 pm to trip get stared.. 2 hours wasted for their poor organisation.. The first part was good, but after 1h trip the waves started get bigger and the guider doesn't want to get slower because "we have time limit". The lunch was good and the fact the guider was really kind to make pictures of us all the time. Overall I would not recommend this trip. Idea was good but execution terrible

My 16 year old son’s jet ski engine cut out and he was left in the middle of the ocean by himself for 20 mins before the tour guides noticed. He was traumatized. They should have a tour guide at the back for safety reasons to ensure people are not left behind. My daughter was also traumatized by the high waves and wanted to go home, but after asking we were told it was too far and that we had to go faster, meaning we had to stick out the entire tour with two traumatized and sobbing children. Tour guides were not responsible and clearly only concerned about the meeting the schedule of one island after another through choppy waters rather than the making sure everyone had an enjoyable experience. Communication was really bad I sent passport details by email for the insurance but the company we booked with did not pass them onto the jet ski company. The pickup cost of 1300 baht became 2600 baht even though we traveled in the same car - 1300 per jet ski was the excuse - we were fleeced. No refund for my wife who did not attend (thank bid she didn’t as she would have taken their heads off) Then no advice to wear plastic flip flop sandals so we had to buy slip on footwear - fleeced for another 750 baht. So poor safety, poor communication, no off ramp to stop the tour early, and fleeced for every last baht. I could not recommend this to anyone.
