Booked and paid for my ticket, received a confirmation email then two days before my trip received an email saying they had cancelled my booking. They were very quick to refund me which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. Don’t book your ticket with Viator, you will be disappointed.

Horrible!!! The tour operator is a FRAUD and a LIAR!!! They Stole our money. Did not get to go inside the Tower because the tickets were incorrect and they WOULD NOT correct Their error. They are the lowest humans to prey upon elderly people they way that they have. Despicable people! Ruin our vacation!

DO NOT BOOK! This was a terrible experience. We never received our tickets. Multiple emails with vouchers that said they were not tickets, but never received the tickets. One message said they'd come via email. Another said get at the distribution center. Day of, no support. Refund request was refused.

The tower was amazing for the family. The tickets were not sent to us until after the time listed on our confirmation email. We had tried multiple times to do the get your tickets PDF and as an email and just kept getting the confirmation. Tickets only arrived after the help desk from PISA called and then they emailed them for a time 4.5 hours later. When planning a day trip getting tickets after the emailed confirmation time does not work well when it is not planned for. Weekend in Italy was not helpful and Viator only got the later tickets emailed again which does not help. i did not use my ticket as I returned 1.5 hours each to get a family members medicine as had planned for a 10 am time and return to the hotel by the time my family even started the climbed.

Booked a 9:30am tour (verified), the ticket provided on day of visit was for 1430 (2:30pm). We had to purchase additional tickets for 9:45am tour so we could meet our travel plans. Requested refund, no response in 3 days!! Go figure!

Dishonest Operator

I have booked the ticket via Viator for 11.30am. The ticket was only issued 2 days before via the chat. In the chat, the operator made no mention that the time had been shifted to 1.30pm. I can’t see any indication anywhere else that the time has been shifted. You can only find out by downloading the actual ticket which was a hassle in itself. I cannot accept the new time as I have a train to catch. The operator was not apologetic but merely pointed out some disclaimer. Terrible and unethical.

Very easy & smooth - we received our tickets in advance & were able to immediately join the queue & go up to see the tower. However make sure you read the fine print! Backpacks & large bags aren't allowed in the tower, though small satchels are - there's a cloakroom onsite if you need it.

Great climb even for 70 plus ages. Made it up in 15 minutes. But tour operator leaves a lot to be desired. Booked four months early then they changed our climbing time by four hours Had to change train reservations as the tour company refused to do anything. Didn’t even want to acknowledge they goofed up. They waited to long to get tickets and our time wasn’t available anymore. Viator was basically no help either. I’m not the only one complaining about them. But viator is still using them. Book on your own thru the Pisa website and get the time you want.

Confusing, ticketing process!

We were very glad to see the leaning tower of Pisa. Climbing it was fine, and afforded lovely views from the top, however, the best way to see the tower itself is, of course, from the outside. The tickets for entry and the whole process followed can definitely be improved because I received no less than a half a dozen emails, and when you click on “get your tickets”, a page comes up that allows you to download as a PDF and then tells you this is not your ticket. It was very confusing! There was only one email that actually had the voucher attached. The company should simply send that email and none of the other confusing stuff!

Booking experience was a huge disappointment

We booked several weeks ahead, the chosen time for climbing up the tower was carefully chosen by us because we came and went by train from Rome just for the Pisa Tower. At the end we couldn’t use the tickets because they gave us another entrance time which was far too late because of our train departure. We tried everything to get up the tower but we had no chance and didn’t get our money back. Viator tried to help us but the confirmation policy said: the chosen time cannot be garantueed. I didn’t get an extra helpful call before as I experienced it before when chosen things have changed. I got the tickets one day before in my app inbox but didn’t get them separately by mail as it was announced. So I was surprised when I was in Pisa and found them after looking for them for a while for finding them. We learnt and we will not book the same way again. We will look for other options.

Very poor service from this tour provider, had to constantly chase for tickets right up to 12 hours before departure, even though I paid for it 4 months before. We booked a specific entrance time due to travel requirements, when tickets arrived by email they were for four hours after our requested time which meant we missed the tour due to catching a train. Would not recommend this operator.

The difficulty in retrieving our tickets!! As a result we were there in 39C heat looking thru the email, downloading, requesting an email, contacting etc for 30 min to no avail. We have used Viator often but for some reason these tickets were not easy to access and the option to “add to wallet” wasn’t available. We showed the entrance people all our “paid and confirmed” emails but again, to no avail. Finally the PDF showed up. Not sure if we kept missing it but it was unhelpful to see so many emails say “these are not your tickets” - this is my comment so Viator can make it easier for future ticket buyers
