Jose was our gracious and knowledgeable guide through the beautiful scenery surrounding Puerto Chacabuco. The group of passengers was congenial; the driver was expert and the van was well maintained. The entire experience was well crafted and I felt a valuable window into the local culture.

The tour operator never showed up. I followed their instructions and confirmed in advance using WhatsApp. We were on the first tender into the port. Waited an hour, tried to reach them via WhatsApp. No response. We spent an hour stressed out and worried that our plans were cancelled and no one would respond.
Ended up on a similar tour from a different operator. She said she knew Top Private Tours and would work it out. Her tour was a full bus (not a van or minivan for 15 or fewer people). We requested a partial refund for the price difference. Viator declined. I escalated through customer service. Supposedly they did a thorough review of my request (in less than 15 minutes from the time of my email) and declined again.
I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH VIATOR AGAIN.

The scenery in this part of Chile is magnificent. We had stops along the way at a large lake, at rivers and at waterfalls. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was especially good. She speaks very good English. She provided a lot of pertinent information all along the way.

Our guide Andrea was amazing. She is a great ambassador for Puerto Aysen. She is so knowledgeable and shared so much information about the region. We went places most of the tour ship folks didn’t. The beach was great, the farm and bbq lunch was excellent and the trip to the waterfall was spectacular. Thank you so much for a memorable experience!

We were met at the port by our host with the most José ! Lovey guy he was so passionate about his native Patagonia and was very knowledgable. We saw all the gorgeous sights including waterfalls, longest suspension bridge in Chile followed by a delicious Patagonian lunch with wine and dancing. I would recommend this pioneer tour

The barbecue lunch at the farmhouse was outstanding. Family owned, and run and made for a fantastic stop. The waterfall was worthwhile and they visit around the lake was beautiful. Only reason I didn’t give it a five was because the guide was brand new, hard to understand and very difficult to hear. Even with the microphone.

The tour visited a few sites around Porto Chacobuco including a nature preserve, the longest bridge in Chile (not that long), a waterfall deep in the woods and ended with a lamb roast at a working farm. Unfortunately the guide was new and did not use any sort of audio help. It was very difficult to hear her in the back of the bus especially when driving down gravel roads. A handheld microphone would have made a major difference. The lunch was the highlight.

Our family has travelled all over the world and has used Viator for almost all of our excursions. This was by far the worst experience we have had. For starters, we were told that "This tour CANNOT wait for late arrivals". We waited 45 additional minutes for two people to arrive which cut time off of our trip. In addition, we were unable to see several stops on the tour for a variety of reasons. We spent 30 minutes on a very winding road to see a waterfall, only to be told they thought we were on the wrong road. We never did get to see that particular waterfall.
Very disappointed.
