We will personally manage and take care of all necessary arrangements for you (national park entrance fee, parking, or any additional requests in advance) After meeting you directly at your accommodation (Manuel Antonio-Quepos areas ONLY), your adventure begins on your short trip to the entrance of the national park. As naturalist guides, we will describe the possible local flora and fauna that we may see during your experience with us, explaining and educating you about what makes Costa Rica such a diverse part of the world.

Considering the current global situation, all of our experiences are exclusively designed for SMALL GROUPS or TOTALLY PRIVATE groups in mind, we will do our best to avoid all the big classic tour operators and big crowds as we find our way through a beautiful park, you will find yourself next to monkeys, sloths and a wide variety of tropical birds. We encourage any questions you have throughout the activity.

Do you want unique and incredible photos of the animals you see on the hike? We will personally take professional quality HD photos and videos using our cell phones and share all photos with you. Pura Vida!

Great tour, would recommend!
Francesca_P, Apr 2024
What a great trip! Huge thanks to Ivan for making the walk through the forest interesting for us and our kids. With his help, we spotted many animals and got some great pics. I would highly recommend this tour - pick up worked like clockwork and Ivan was there at the park entrance ready to greet us. The beach at the end was great too! 😎
Thanks Milton: we saw several sloths and have a photo memory of them.
Mario_P, Apr 2024
Our guide Milton always had the right nose and found the perfect location for his telescope. He also placed our cell phones on his telescope so that great photos were possible and sent us his best pictures. Above all, we saw several sloths and have a photo memory of them. It was really great with Milton.
We went to the park wanting to see monkeys, and boy did we see them!!! we saw our first Howler monkey right above the bridge where we started the tour. The Capuchins were everywhere, especially by the beach. I got a video of a squirrel monkey jumping from a tree across the road to the other side, Awesome! We saw a Toucan, which our guide, Clarence kept following in the trees to get me that perfect picture, which he did! We also saw whitetail deer, iguanas. We saw pretty much everything we wanted to see! Clarence is an AWESOME Guide!!! He taught us so much about the Rainforest and its inhabitants. THANK YOU FOR AN AWESOME DAY!!! ONE I WILL NEVER FORGET!
Fabulous experience!

Private tour of Manuel Antonio National Park
Terry_W, Feb 2024
Highly recommend this private tour of Manuel Antonio National Park. The tour operator picked us up at our hotel at designated time and dropped us off at the gate of the Park where we were introduced to our private guide, Wilbur ( Please excuse the misspelling). He took us into the park and proceeded to stop along the trail at various points to look at the wildlife through his spotting scope . Since it was just 4 of us we moved along at our own pace . It was nice to see how all the Guides worked as a team to spot the well camouflaged wildlife. Wilbur was able to take pictures and send them to us. We stopped for some refreshments midway (juice and tropical fruit). Wilbur was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained with his stories . We wanted to spend some time at the spectacular beaches located within the park so after the tour was done we were advised to contact the tour operator once we needed a ride back to our hotel. So after the beaches we left the park and enjoyed a delicious meal at a small restaurant (soda). After sight seeing in the immediate area we contacted the operator and they came to drive us back to our hotel. Great time had by all ! A few notes: 1) the park only admits so many visitors per day, so preplanning a must 2) the park does not allow plastic water bottles in the park , bring a reusable bottle 3) don’t forget bathing suits , water shoes to enjoy the breathtaking beaches. Bath houses available for showering/changing
Crowded, but beautiful
Annalee_O, Feb 2024
We had a great visit to the park with our guide, Brian. He definitely gets 5 stars for spotting all the wildlife, and being very knowledgeable and friendly. If I were rating the park itself, I would have given 3 stars probably. As expected, it is somewhat crowded (especially on Wednesday since it’s closed on Tuesday). I was a little disappointed in how little wildlife we could see, and what we did see was through the scope. I think my expectations were too high. We saw howler monkeys, sloths, bats, grasshoppers, crabs. We walked and observed wildlife for about 1-1.5 hours before stopping at the snack bar and bathrooms. After that, it was a quick walk to the beach, where the guide left us to enjoy ourselves. The beach was beautiful, with its white sand and calm blue water. I’d give it 4 stars. There wasn’t a lot of shade, and it got pretty crowded after 10a. You can walk a bit further from the crowd, but there’s even less shade as you go down the beach. Tips: - Wear or bring bathing suit, towel, and beach shoes. The trails are not steep or strenuous, and can definitely be done in comfortable sandals. We wore our suits and sandals to avoid changing, and we were perfectly fine for the hike. - Avoid going on Wednesday if you can. It’s more crowded. - Book an early (7-8a) time
Give it a try

Beautiful place.. lots of wildlife.. private guide tour was well worth it.. Evelyn could spot a frog from 100 yards away and had an awesome scope to see and take pictures..
Book Direct with Manuel’s Costa Rica Tours and Ask for tour guide Ivan.
Aiko_L, Feb 2024
. I will highly recommend Manuel’s Costa Rica Tours and plan to send my friends to them directly. Ivan, my guide works really hard to make sure his clients view wildlife with accuracy and safely. He shows his respect for the wildlife inhabitants of Manuel Antonio Park, the beaches, and Costa Rica. I recommend Manuel’s Costa Rica Tours but not Viator. Their Manuel Antonio options are very confusing.
Fun and interesting wildlife tour
Ian_A, Feb 2024
Our guide Ivan was not only very knowledgeable but also very funny! We were able to see hidden wildlife we would never have spotted ourselves and using the telescope they bring. Howler monkeys and sloths were the highlights. But we also liked Ivans witty observations on nature and Costa Rica life in general. Pick and drop off was included and done by local taxis which was more flexible.
Beautiful wildlife viewing
Walker_R, Feb 2024
Wonderful opportunity to see wildlife and beautiful vistas. My guide’s keen eye and high-powered scope were key to me seeing subculture a wide range of wildlife. Thoroughly recommend it!
Well worth visiting with a guide
Shaun_H, Feb 2024
Excellent morning spent with Ivan Cordero - very knowledgeable with a great eye for spotting and explaining the wildlife.
Family friendly and flexible jungle tour which allows sighting of many animals
Kathy_R, Jan 2024
Hans was a fantastic guide. He was both friendly and knowledgeable, engaging my kids and allowing us to see many animals that we had no chance of otherwise seeing. Using his telescope we were able to see the facial expressions on animals that I couldn’t make out clearly with my bare eyes. Having a private tour was great, there were many other tours which looked like they had over 10 people, very impersonal! We even stopped for ice cream when my kids needed a break.
If going to Manuel Antonio Park, get a guide…otherwise you’ll miss a lot
Karen_T, Jan 2024
Manuel was an excellent tour guide. Pointed out several animals we would have not seen, if he was not there. He told us about the plants, animals, etc. he used a “bird watching type telescope to point out the animals and plants we couldn’t see on our own, took pictures of them and then shared the pictures.
Sloths & Orchids: Mission Accomplished!
Erin_W, Jan 2024
Manuel listened to what we most wanted to see (sloths & flowers) and what we had seen enough of (spiders & lizards) and made it happen! He was full of interesting stories & was a lot of fun to spend the afternoon with. He’s very invested in the future of the park.
Unmissable Experience
Matthew_G, Jan 2024
Amazing tour. Manuel organised a private your for us as we had a baby. Robert who did the tour was super knowledgeable and friendly and really made the tour come alive. We wouldn't have spotted anything if it wasn't for him. We got to see so many animals through the telescope and got amazing photos. Thank you!
Super knowledgeable guide!
Jillian_B, Jan 2024
Had a great morning with our guide Wilburth in Manuel Antonio. He was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and pointed out so many interesting things for us! Highly recommend!
Educational and fun
Katie_L, Dec 2023
Our tour guide was Manuel, with whom I hiked to Quepos Point on a previous trip. He is very knowledgeable and so enthusiastic about the history and ecology of the region. You will definitely learn a few things while you enjoy the natural beauty of the park. Plus, he does the tour in the opposite direction as most groups, so you have a less crowded experience.
Go with Manuel's Tours if you have the chance!
Gary_L, Dec 2023
Manuel of Manuel's Tours, Costa Rica, was an excellent tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions, show us wildlife and teach us about Costa Rica and Manuel Antonio National Park.
Lovely experience
Diane_G, Dec 2023
When we saw the crabe red and black, the bird « Mickael Jackson », the other bird with the black head and the red tail and the perezoso climbing the tree and far and foremost our guide Dylan 👏👏.
Bad company! They didn’t buy tickets for us, lied and blamed the website!
Hannah_S, Nov 2023
Beware! Do not book with this company! I booked this tour over a month before we arrived knowing that the tickets to the park sell out days in advance. We confirmed with them. Then the day before, they contacted us and confirmed again! The day of, we were outside of our hotel waiting 15 minutes prior to the tour…No one showed. We waited 45 minutes total. No call. No show. We then used the number provided- it was not working, no answer or rolled over to “not a working number”. By now, the hotel was involved as well. I looked up the tour company on the Internet and was able to find a different number (along side the other number given to us). We called them and they proceed to give us a sob story about “this is a family run business” and they “can’t find their brother” and he’s also “not answering their call”. Initially it worked, we felt pity for them and concern. Then our hotel person said “and that’s your problem?” They tell us they will call us back in five minutes when they figure things out. They do not call back so we called them. Then they proceed with a different story about how the “park website crashed” and “there’s only so many tickets” and it’s not their fault that “they had picked tickets but then the website crashed”. This was also false. So the first time we called they tried to blame it on a lost brother that they were very concerned about and then they tried to blame it on a website that crashed. The lord keep coming. I got on the website and realized that all the tickets have been sold for today and the next four days and realize they were trying to blame someone else for their own mistake. I was not happy! I got on the phone and let them know that we saw through their lies. We had paid for this tour in full over a month ago and they should’ve bought the tickets at that point. We have provided all the necessary information, including our passport numbers. We also cane all the way to this part of the country to see this national park and I was very upset that we might not be able to because we did not have tickets and there were no tickets available. Luckily our hotel contacted a different company who provides tickets and they had two tickets available for the next day for me and my husband. Once I did get on the phone with them and called them out for their lies and misbehavior, that was the only time they admitted it! Yes, it was their fault. They did not have the tickets for the park. And then they said no, we are not blaming anyone else we realize it’s our fault. But that was only after getting very upset with them on the phone , did they actually admit that it was their fault. I have a few recommendations. If you would like to do a tour to a national park that sells out or something of the like, book with your hotel, because they know the more upstanding tour companies and they also confirm to make sure everything is a go. I am disgusted at how this company lied and deceived us or at least try to. I would not book with them. They are not an upstanding, honest company. I cannot tell you how disappointed I would’ve been if we were to come to this part of the country and not gotten to see the one thing that we came here for. The only redeemable part is that they refunded our money pronto but I think that’s because they were trying to avoid the review you are currently reading!
