What To Expect

Your day begins at the park entrance, or with optional pickup at selected locations. After you purchase Manuel Antonio National Park entrance tickets (own expense), you’ll continue into the nature reserve with a naturalist guide.

Exploring this wildlife hotspot with a naturalist makes the most of every minute, as their trained eyes are quick to spot animals such as monkeys, sloths, toucans, and more. And, this tour’s small-group format means more personalized attention from the guide. You can also use the group’s spotting scope to observe wildlife and take photos. A flexible itinerary, meanwhile, is tailored to guest preferences, whether you’re all about jungle or interested in a beach walk.

In between stops enjoy provided snacks, as well as the climate-controlled comfort of a tour vehicle. While this tour concludes at the park entrance, you’ll also have the option to stay on inside the park.

Great experience!! I would recommend the private tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out several things we probably wouldn't have noticed without him. I Would definitely recommend seeing!!

We paid for a 4 hour guided tour for $360 dollars and never got into the park. We were beyond disappointed that they took our money and we never received our tour. I wouldn’t recommend Viator services to anyone. Still waiting to be reimbursed our money.
Great guided tour

Had an excellent guide, Javier, who communicated everything from the beginning to end. He explained procedures and suggested we buy a non-disposable water bottle since that is all that is allowed inside the park. He was great at finding so many animals and using his spotting scope to let everyone see them up close and get pictures. He also had a ton of knowledge on the animals and park.
Worth it!

Don't count on any substantive "snack." It is a PBJ. However, they lead us from solicitors to a good parking space (charge not included) and got us into the park. Note there is only one telescope so consider bringing your own or binoculars. Can't see much without it. You would never spot any of the amazing things without a guide. But don't expect lots of active animals. 4 hours is not realistic, it was pretty clear the guide wanted to wrap up at 3 hours and all the good stuff was at the end so we were a bit rushed when at last, we saw some amazing things.
Animals, Beaches, Forests, and More!

Our your guide, Julian, was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and made every arachnid, bird, mammal, and reptile we saw feel like most interesting creature ever seen. He was also really nice and made sure everyone saw every animal. We saw sloths, iguanas, lizards, howler monkeys, a stick bird, toucans, a golden orb weaver spider and more! The walk through the tropical humid forest was fascinating, ending at the most beautiful beach where the water was warm and clear, and the trees were full of capuchin monkeys. It was a day to remember in large part thanks to Julian's knowledge and expertise!
Amazing nature/animal tour

The tour was a great experience. Enderson was a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly tour guide. We saw a great variety of animals (lizards, sloths, and birds and flowers) that couldn't be seen without a tour guide and monoscope. We also saw a whole troop of white faced monkeys. Enderson is very passionate about Costa Rica its flora, fauna and animals. He is a great environmental steward, taking time to pick up litter during our tour through the park. The tour ended with refreshing chilled bottle of water, tropical fruit kabob, and jam sandwich. Definitely and very highly recommended. It's a popular destination, so crowds are unavoidable but still manageable.
Great Tour!

Tour guide Julian was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was nice to be picked up at our house and driven home after a snack. Would highly recommend tour!

We really enjoyed our tour of the park! Easy to book, pickup at hotel was right on time and entry to the park was smooth. Our guide Bernie was terrific. Kept us at a good pace and moved around a few of the bottlenecks. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of information about the animals. There were a few kids in our group and he did a great job with them. I probably expected to see more animals, but they are in the wild and not in a zoo! Would not have spotted hardly any without a guide and his scope - definitely book a tour!!
danica_h, Mar 2024
this tour only lasted half the amount of time advertised and there were also no “snacks” provided as advertised. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TOUR. we didn’t get in line to enter the park until 7:45am and the guide left us in the middle of the park at 9:50am.
Guide helps you get the best wildlife photos.

The guide is essential for spotting all the wildlife. Use of the guide’s equipment for taking and sharing photos is a great feature of this tour.
Great park tour

Roy did a great job, giving us a tour of the park. He was very knowledgeable about the animals and clearly has a lot of passion for the park. He took wonderful pictures and shared them with us afterwards.
Great time in Manuel Antonio
Julia_H, Mar 2024
My friends and I had a great time! Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and made sure we got the best photos! We saw a lot of capuchin monkeys, both 2 and 3 toes sloths, tucans, deer, crabs, and others! The company was also very well organized and great at communicating. They are had a parking area that was watched and it was pretty cheap.
Long Hot afternoon
Rodney_M, Mar 2024
Monkeys were cool, way tooooo much walking. The advertising said air conditioned vehicles that I thought would drive you around the park…….. NOT. The 2 hour you is all you need. Not good for older or out of shape people.
Must do in Manuel Antionio
Amanda_D, Mar 2024
Our guide Julian was very knowledgeable and showed us many animals. The highlights were seeing a mom and baby sloth moving in the trees and a Basilisk lizard run on water! Julian was very kind and entertained the kids during the hike. Highly recommend this tour!!
A morning in Manual Antonio Park
Carolyne_T, Mar 2024
Edgar was an amazing guide - he saw animals hidden high up in the trees. He was very patient and made sure we got the perfect shot of the animals. I think it is better to take the morning tour because there are more animals then. I got to see a sloth, monkeys, iguanas, and birds (including a toucan)! Great way to spend a morning in Manuel Antonio Park!
Use a company that guarantees small groups!
Alon_F, Mar 2024
We were assigned to a bilingual (English and Spanish) 12 person group. This was almost twice the average size of the many other groups we saw the trail. Having so many people on one monocular, and having the guide repeat everything twice in two languages severely damaged the quality of the tour.
