We were picked up with Freddy. He had amazing English and great conversational skills! The drive was 1hr 40 but because we were just chatting, it felt so much quicker! The stop at San Tadeo lodge was fantastic. We arrived early and had the whole place to ourselves. There is such an abundance of bird life here. We then ventured to the cable car, to the butterfly farm (which had lots of butterfly species around) and then for a great lunch in Mindo. The tour didn't feel rushed and Freddy gave us plenty of time for our activities. It was really enjoyable. Thank you!

Varied, fun and interesting

We had an amazing day in Mindo with our guide Miriam. She was an excellent driver and we had wonderful conversations about nature, history and culture of the region. She was very knowledgeable! We opted to take the sky bike adventure and had a lot of fun riding above the canopy. The hummingbirds were absolutely a highlight, as was the chocolate tour in Yumbos. The cloud forest was an amazing place to pick out different species of plants (especially orchids). If you have the option to take an overnight trip to Mindo, we recommend that to see more birds in the morning. We would have loved to spend more time there and would absolutely recommend Miriam as a guide.

We had a great day with Ximena. She shared all the options we could do on the day and we chose what were of most interest to us. Lovely waterfall walk with Ximena sharing her vast knowledge about the flora and fauna. Such beautiful orchids. The Hummingbird centre was a truly delightful experience. Chair ride to above the cloud forest for a Birds Eye view of the forest. Ximena found us a lovely restaurant in Mindo. Charming little town. A thoroughly enjoyable day with the lovely Ximena.

Spoiled and Submerged in Mindo

The world needs more Luis’. Our thoughtful intelligent native Ecuadorian took us to the hidden pleasures and exotic gems of the Mindo region in his late model 4wheeler. He allowed my husband and I to pick and chose the days activities while guiding us to viewing areas we would have never found on our own. He was very attentive and kind and always conscious of our safety. His knowledge of the ecosystem and names was phenomenal. We had hummingbirds sit on our hand, felt the breeze from their tiny wings on our face and can count at least 15 varieties we saw. There are many more. He even pulled over to allow us to see a Toucan he spotted. Luis drove expertly in a frenetic city and on curvy mountain terrain. Thank you for a daydream day making memories and satiating our rabid curiosity and plunging us rapturously into the magic that is Mindo. Don’t miss this one!

A trip we won’t soon forget. Our guide (Jimena?, apologies for forgetting your name after such a wonderful day together) was beyond expectation in terms of both warmth and knowledge. She took the time to find our likes and dislikes, and then helped us choose the activities to maximise our day. Hummingbird sanctuary, zip line, waterfall hike, and chocolate tour, all were excellent! We would love to join her for a gastronomic tour in the future, as all her suggestions were excellent, as well as being great at explaining the history of the food.

Fabolous day in Mindo

The entire day was great! It's hard to pick our favorite activity as we were able to manage our time well and complete a bunch of activities during our time. Our guide was Ximena (I think??, I didn't get the spelling of her name) and she was absolutely fantastic!! We would have loved to do more trips with her during out time in Ecuador. She was extremely knowledgeable and had some great recommendations about how to spend our day. Overall fantastic and we would book it again.

Couple day trip to Mindo

Excellent day trip from Quito. We had Andres as our guide. He showed up on time. Answered any questions we had about Ecuador, Quito and Mindo. Provided lots of interesting information regarding volcanoes, cloud forests, etc on our drive. We stopped to feed the hummingbirds which was incredible to see so many different species. We then took the cable car on our way to hike and see waterfalls. Next we went to visit the butterfly sanctuary. Last we toured a chocolate making farm where we had a fantastic chocolate tasting and lastly a delicious lunch there. Andres accommodated everything we wanted to see. When we were ahead of schedule at the waterfall he gave us the choice of hiking to additional waterfalls or doing the chocolate farm. He even stopped on our way back to the hotel so we could get some water and supplies that we needed. We would definitely book tours with this company again. My only very slight complaint was I wish we were made aware of the schedule and timing of things as we drove towards Mindo so we had a better way to monitor our time. However, I don't blame the guide for that as we should have asked.

A great day trip! Hiked in cloud forest after the cable car ride over valley. Hi lite of trip was visit to eco lodge set inforest with many birds simply spectacular bird watching during a rain shower comfortable and dry. Saw several species of hummingbirds Tanagers and a toucan! Our guide Danny was very knowledgeable.
