What To Expect

Wake up early and prepare for a journey to one of South Dakota’s most famous landmarks: Mount Rushmore. Meet at Fort Hays Chuckwagon Supper & Show in Rapid City, a convenient pick-up location that makes for an easy dinner choice when you’re dropped off after the tour concludes.

This full-day bus tour starts with a stop at Mount Rushmore. Because the cliffside faces the east, it’s brilliantly illuminated in the morning hours. Enjoy an hour of wandering around the site and learning about Gutzon Borglum, the site's architect.

Ride along Iron Road to Custer State Park Resort where you can purchase lunch, then it’s off to Needles Highway for a scenic drive to the equally breathtaking Sylvan Lake. Your trip ends with a visit to Crazy Horse Memorial where you’ll have an hour to learn about the world’s largest mountain carving.

There were so, sooooo many wonderful photo ops. Our driver Dan, was an absolute delight, entertaining and informative. He even recommended seeing other non-related sights that were nearby.
Exceeded expectations

The driver, Billy made the trip interesting and entertaining. He allowed us ample time and assistance to get the best photos to document our trip. Highly recommend this tour…

Leave the driving to an expert

Dan was a gracious and entertaining guide on this tour and so knowledgeable about the history of the Black Hills and Custer National Park. He provided information before each stop on the tour to maximize our time at the various sites. It was wonderful to be able to have someone drive us through the narrow, winding roads and tunnels of the Needles, a route that is amazing.
Awesome way to see multiple sights

Excellent way to see multiple amazing sights. Guided tour of information and seeing things might have missed otherwise. Worry free. Tour guide Billy was awesome and made it even more fun. Highly recommend.
Good trip

The bus driver was awesome. Bill Martin. Funny, good driver and very attentive to detail. It did cost a little more than we thought. And it was a long trip.
Fun Experience

Bill was a great tour guide! The Needles Highway was quite memorable and Bill’s sense of humor only made it better! Overall a great time. Only complaint is that we were told to arrive an hour earlier than necessary since our tour did not include the meals and show.
Mt Rushmore & Black Hills Tour

Our tour guide, Billy, was knowledgeable and shared information in a professional and often humorous manner. A "cowboy" breakfast was available which we ate enjoying the meal and music entertainment before the excursion. The tour is even better than advertised
View of Mt. Rushmore as...
Janet_T, Sep 2023
View of Mt. Rushmore as well as tour guides’ knowledge of everything about Mt. Rushmore. The driver also made it fun going through the “Needle” tunnels. Just a wonderful tour guide - Pastor Martin.

Bill, the bus driver was entertaining and informative. I had no idea how tedious this driving would have been beforehand, but it was a relief to take the tour. You’ll love it!

Dan was great!! Tunnels fun and visiting Mt. Rushmore was fascinating. Enjoyed all stops. Spend more time at Rushmore and less at Crazy Horse.
Gotta do this!! Tour and people R great!!
william_w, Sep 2023
It was ALL memorable! From cowboy breakfast, to tour bus driver,Dan. To the dinner show. Picture was dinner show and Mt Rushmore. There was way too much to be able to elaborate. It was well worth it.
A wonderful Black Hills tour!
Deborah_E, Sep 2023
Despite some technical problems with the sound system at the beginning, our driver/guide gave us an outstanding interactive lesson about what we were seeing. He told funny stories and educated us along the way. He went out of his way to take us to see a huge buffalo herd!
Tour review

The excursion was a good value. Billy, our driver , was knowledgeable, entertaining , paced his commentary well. We checked in during the half hour window time suggested on the reservation and expected to depart at 8:15 as our reservation stated. Upon checking in, we were disappointed to learn our departure time would be an hour and 20 minutes after check in time . We traveled a distance to meet at Fort Hayes so the later departure was very inconvenient. We would strongly recommend confirming the actual checkin and departure times on the reservation confirmation text or e-mail. The route Billy took stopping at Mount Rushmore first was a great way to start the tour! The lunch stop was efficient, delicious and a good value! All in all we enjoyed the day and would recommend to family and friends!
