Traveler Tips

Read the fine print so you know what your buying to not cause other people or the tour operator delays.
The problem is that when accessing with children/minors, the facility requires proof that the children are with their parents.
Unfortunately, the afternoon tour is starting and you must wait for the staff to check the afternoon group in before the morning group is taken to the forum.

Easy

Instructions all perfect-no issues in meeting and collecting tickets super quick entry-nothing not to like
Fun Experience
Margie_F, Mar 2024
Getting the tickets was easy, there was someone there with a black flag easy to find to get the tickets. There is another ticket that provides access to the lower level. Seeing the inside was very interesting.
Rome in late March

Meet and greet was easy to find and straightforward. Skip the line was easy and punctual, we had a 2pm slot. Enjoyed looking around ourselves at our own pace. Would have spent more time around the Roman Forum (spectacular) and Palatine hill (breathtaking views) if we visited Rome again. An Amazing day!
Subpar

We are a family of 5 and were only allowed to book 4 tickets per purchase. We had to buy the 5th ticket separate. Two days prior to the tour, our 5th ticket was canceled. We tried to message several times without response. We finally were able to call and were informed that the tour was overbooked and they could not do anything except have us buy an extra ticket 45 min prior to the rest of the family’s tickets. I was told to go into 3 separate queues before getting into the correct one. During this process, my wife and 3 young children were left standing in the pouring rain by themselves waiting for their start times. Due to the line, even though I lined up 15 min prior to the start time, I missed the “timing” for my ticket to go to the underground level as I was told it expired at the exact timing of my ticket entry. I was ultimately denied access. Costumer service was not courteous nor genuinely apologetic. If you are a family +4, please consider this review.
Wonderful

My wife and I loved this trip, whilst it was self guided we purchased some audio guides for a few euros and it was worth it. The visit to Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum was brilliant as well.

Very impressive structure, a must see in Rome. Read your ticket for meetup info (which flag to look for).
Extremely disappointed in the tour not being what we paid for.
John_H, Mar 2024
We had underground access but weren’t allowed without a tour guide. It was very frustrating because we paid to see the underground. When we got out tickets, the person told us to tell security that we had an access ticket so we could get access to the underground. When we got to the gate, security refused to let us down to the underground. We want our money back. We didn’t get what we paid for.
Never provided any tickets - these operators are fraudulent!

I got this reservation, then, they changed the time day of. No problem, I was happy to be flexible and we changed our plans for the day around the change they made. Then, I arrived 15 minutes before our reservation to collect the tickets and as it was raining the lady who was supposedly waiting for me told me they had left because of the rain and they would just send the tickets online. We got in line in the rain and waited but they never sent the tickets. I called them and they let me know that they had made a mistake and there was no ticket for me. The lady I talked with apologized profusely and told me they would issue the refund and I would just need to go and get the ticket. I trusted her, we went and waited in line and just got the regular ticket and went through the tour Then the next day I asked about the refund and I stopped getting responses. I requested it on Viator and the request was denied. I reported the situation to Viator but they refused to refund me as well. In the end, I paid 70 dollars to be provided with nothing and get soaked waiting in the rain. The worst experience I have had and very disappointed in Viator as well not helping in any way.
Amazing
Maureen_M, Mar 2024
The whole experience was mind blowing. It was very well organised and informative. It’s very hard to imagine what went on there nearly 2000 years ago. It’s a beautifully preserved building. We loved it.
Amazing

Terrible experience with Viator
Peggy_L, Mar 2024
Terrible experience. Messed up tickets and time even though I booked months ago - no help from Viator - blamed on tour operator - don't use Viator
We all learned about it...
Karel_B, Mar 2024
We all learned about it in history lessons at school, but seeing these places live is obviously a much better and more intense experience. It's such a shame these places only exist as torsos anymore. However, it awakens strength and determination in us.

Very busy. I’ve been here twice before and I guess that’s enough. I won’t go here again.—————————zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzZzzzzzzzzzzzz
Good service, easy to use, but you pay nearly double to enter
Rhys_G, Mar 2024
Easy to find the company that had the tickets. I paid £34 for me and my son to enter, on arrival I was given a ticket for myself which showed a value of £18 and told at the gate to collect my free childs ticket. I get that this is a 3rd party site, but that is quite a hefty booking fee. Originally I thought I was paying for an adults and childs ticket. I had issues conecting to the main Colesseum booking service and kept getting 404 access denied messages, so used this service. So just be aware there is an increase in cost. Saying that the app was good, the service was good and the meeting point was easy to find.
Great Experience
Ashok_M, Mar 2024
Team had the tickets ready when I arrived near the arch and was able to get it Colosseum & Forum easily..!!
The coliseum was great! But, paid too much.
Cynthia_J, Mar 2024
We wanted skip the line tickets for that day, and they came through. The downside is that these tickets are a lot more expensive than general admission. We expected that. But we were going at 4. There was no line at this time. So off you’re going in a non-peak time, I’d recommend buying entry tickets there.
Be Ready for Confusion
Valerie_M, Mar 2024
While this ticket did get us into the attractions we wanted to see, it was confusing. Viator asked us to download an app, which then wanted an email confirmation link which didn't work, so we could never get the app. Then, when we went to go meet the team to get our ticket before our time slot, there were no signs or details about where at the Arch to find the person. We only found it by asking a random person with a black flag who turned out to have our ticket. Very stressful experience while navigating a crowded monument with kids.
Directions unclear
paul_w, Mar 2024
The ticket pick up point was not clear and the directions were very ambiguous - we struggled to find the pick up Point
Colosseum 16th March 2024
Bylinda_M, Mar 2024
We had no troblem finding the travel guide. Laura took us through the VR part of the Colosseum. She then handed us our self guided tour tickets for the inside and parted ways. Since I purchased the front of line without audio we purchased the audio equipment from within the colosseum for 12euro/person. Note to self, they do not take cash. We used our credit card. The whole tour was a life experience. A must do for anyone visiting Roma. I am glad that I booked and paid for all my Roma tours through Viator in Canada before we left for Italy. I have been using Viator for a long time and have never had any issues with them.
A magnificent sight
Liam_M, Mar 2024
Absolutely fantastic, the guides were very easy to find and we did exactly what it says on the tin and skipped immediately to the front of the que. Took less than 10 minutes for us to get into the Colluseum :) Would definitely recommend you get the 'skip the line' tickets.
