MEETING POINT ( REDEMPTION POINT) : Pick up your tickets at the ARCH OF CONSTANTINE (side of the Colosseum). You will meet our staff (remember: 15 MINUTES PRIOR to the arranged time) who will hold a BLACK FLAG saying "Ancient and Recent - Virtual Reality Tour"
You are required to show up at the meeting point 15 MINUTES PRIOR to the arranged time of departure - especially families with children/under 18, in order to anticipate and facilitate the entry procedures.
Please note that THIS IS NOT A GUIDED TOUR .This option only provides you fast entrance to the Colosseum and access to Palatine Hill/Roman Forum.
You will be added to a group with a privileged entrance and after the security check you’ll be free to explore the Colosseum by yourself.
After the visit of the Colosseum (around 1h), with the same tickets, you will be able to visit always by yourself the both sites: the Palatine Hill/Roman Forum.
The Colosseum tickets have a SPECIFIC SCHEDULED TIME: if you arrive late for the meeting point, it will NOT be possible to join the group or reschedule, unless you pay for the activity again. As per no-show rules, you will NOT be entitled to a REFUND.

The Colosseum requires mandatory entry procedures (show children/under 18 to the staff, voucher exchange) and mandatory security check that must be carried out even by the skip-the-line ticket holders. This could require to wait a little more before entering the monument, as this part cannot be skipped.
The Colosseum’s capacity regulations (no more than 3000 people inside at the same time) may delay the tour departure. This could also influence the smooth running of the tour especially on national holidays, weekends and during high season. So, even the skip-the-line queue may be not as fast as usual.
Children/under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and must carry ID passports or a valid identity document (also a digital copy), because the Colosseum staff may ask to check them at the entrance.
The Colosseum area is an open archaeological park and for this reason is not equipped with sun/rain covers and shops. The local operator is not responsible for any kind of discomfort due to this.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own bottle of water (no glass bottles/no alcohol).
The local operator is not responsible for any inconvenience caused by the closure of the Colosseum/Palatine Hill/Roman Forum due to strikes, events, bad weather, etc.
It is forbidden to enter the Colosseum and Palatine Hill/Roman Forum with with BULKY luggages, handbags. Please be aware that there is no luggage storage and that we cannot keep your stuff. Take only the necessary stuff: camera, plastic bottles, documents, wallets etc
It is strictly forbidden to enter the Colosseum with knives and any kind of cutting object. Pay attention not to bring with you this kind of stuff.

Delayed start time

We only had 2 days in Rome, so booked this tour as a quick way to see both the Colosseum and Forum. Because of when we got into Rome, we booked the 4pm tour. Like many others reported, we arrived about 3:45 to only find a message from the tour operator that our start time has been moved to 4:20. What I didn't realize is that these attractions close at 6pm and it was not enough time to visit both. In fact, hardly had time to see the Forum. Even the extra 20 mins would have helped, but in reality, I would not suggest such a late start time if you want to see both attractions. Once we got the tickets, it was nice to 'skip the line' and get inside quickly. If you don't need a tour, maybe pick a more reliable tour operator to ensure an accurate start time.

] Hi, extremely disappointed, we had only 2 days in Rome and booked a self tour of the coliseum on our final day, only to be informed 30 minutes before the tour, that it was cancelled, we went to the meeting anyway and found out the tour was still going ahead and it was only ourselves and another couple who weren’t included in the tour, as it was our last day we had planned everything around it . No explanation given just one word reply Sorry. This has definitely put us off using Viator again and I won’t be giving any complimentary comments on any travel forums about Viator. I await my full refund and wish to be removed from any further mailing from Viator. Yours sincerely disappointed Tom Jardine

I signed us up for this at 4pm. I was then contacted and asked to come at 4:30. We were already in the area. But approached the people at the meeting place and we’re given tickets to enter at 5. Then we’re told we could enter 20 minutes before our ticket time and we were turned away at the gate. Went back to the tour people and they basically told us too bad and didn’t help. We spent an hour and 15 minutes sitting around near the entrance because we planned our day around showing up at 3:45. Find a different tour company, this one stinks.

Let's not take away the awesome Colosseum. It's Amazing and definitely worth going. That said, read the EXCLUSIONS. No audio is provided and is an additional cost of 6.00 eu. After paying out 90 eu you think they would have included it. It's just walking around inside once you're there so this particular ticket just gets you inside!

Save your money and book with a more reputable company. Messed around timings. We originally booked for 11am and were then asked to move to 10am and then 9am. We showed up at 8:40am to be taken on the VR experience at 9am (don’t waste your time with that). We weren’t “allowed” our tickets until after the VR experience. Once this was complete, we returned to collect our tickets to be handed a ticket that was expired for entry. Luckily we made it into the colosseum. Rude staff. Completely undeserving of your money and time when I am sure there are more helpful and reputable tour operators.

There were no tickets. We turned up on time only to be told the tickets had “all gone for that day”. We were left without the ticket we had bought and no option of getting that ticket on the day. Please do not book with this company if you want to use the ticket you’ve bought!

Two negative parts to our experience: one, children do not need to pay to enter the colosseum. This group charged me the “service charge” for the children, but did not produce tickets for them. I still needed to go to the box office to pick up their free tickets. Two, the ticket they produced for me was for a time slot twenty minutes earlier than I purchased and because of needing to secure tickets for the children we almost missed our timed entry. Next time I will just wait in line.
