Don't book viator tours. Never

Terrible experience. Don't take Viator C.I.S tours. The tour guide took us to the Colosseum and gave a little talk on the history and told us to go around and he left us. Told us to go Palatine hill and Roman forum on our own and he left. He did not tell any history about palatine Hill and Roman forum and told us go there next day if you are interested. We paid 149.15 euro for the guided tour for all 3 places. But all our hard earned money in waste. Never book Viator..I want my money back. Cheaters

The guided portion of the Colosseum tour was excellent. However, we paid for a guided tour of the Forum and Palatine as well. The guide did not accompany us into the Forum/Palatine. We were left to wander on our own when we expected a guided tour.

He did not have a memorable experience. We scheduled a 3 hour tour to see the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill Tour that was cut 2 hours short. Our guide told us she was double booked and left us after the Colosseum about 1 hour into the tour. We had to roam the rest of the area by ourselves.

The Colosseum was amazing. The tour felt rushed and the disorganized. Apparently the company combined a couple of groups ie the 2:30 and 3 pm Perhaps some of this is attributed to the crowds in general. There was no tour of the forum. We were basically dropped off and pointed in a general direction. Overall expensive for what was given.

Our tour guide was very informative and entertaining. I understand she wasn't originally guiding us but stepped in after the original tour guide couldn't. We found her very valuable. Our tour was delayed by 45mins which we were not informed about until we arrived on time. The tour felt disorganised and rushed at times. We very much felt like an inconvenience to the experience. Which is sad given the incredible monument we were visiting. I would not recommend.

I travel from Colombia, and my tour didn’t go. I called more than 40 times and no one pick up the phone. I was very disappointed since you cannot play with client dreams and vacation to Rome. Very unprofessional, very irresponsable… I have no words to express our frustration and there’s no compensation to fix this situation.

Very poorly managed overall, tour started late, guide didn’t hold a flag nor did he keep the group together, some people were lost. Colosseum history was not explained in great detail, we were left to explore Roman forum and Palatine hill on our own , guide did not accompany and no explanation. Overall very poor experience and will not recommend to others.

The experience NEVER happened! CIS tours didn’t show up and we waited for an hour! I have submitted a refund request for services that were not provided to a customer service agent Jay at Viator the same day! We wasted time because Viator booked us with tour operators that were fraud! Return my money as soon as possible! We wasted so much precious time waiting and it ruined our entire day!

Horrible, First we booked the tour in one language and when we arrived they said that guide cancelled and now it was in English. Second, when we left the Colliseum they called the guide and said she had another tour and she left. The tour company representative came over and said another guide was coming to take us to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, however they just send a guy to take us past the entrance and left. He said that part was not a guided one even though the tour details say it guided all they way. For the amount they charge for this it was not a good experience. Do not book with them,

We chose a guided tour in English. The guide spoke a very basic English with lots of mistakes so sometimes it was difficult to understand. Moreover when he was taken us inside the Colosseum at the beginning, he was just swearing in Italian, really colourfully and with the mike on. He guided for about 30 minutes in total that I think it's very little for such an expensive tour. At the exit of the Colosseum there was another guide waiting for us: he was smoking, and when he was finished he threw the butt on the ground: not a very good role model to keep a huge tourist area clean. He delivered us at the entrance of the Roman Forum without any kind of explanation on how to move around. When we asked, he said that now we were on our own. During our visit I saw and heard other guides and they were much better. We saw what we wanted to see, but when one buys such a guided tour, one expects much more than what we got.

I do not recommend this tour at least with CIS or city tours. I booked a tour in Spanish. Which was more expensive than the English one and it wasn’t even in Spanish. The palantine hill and Roman forum was not guided like it says in the description.

Terrible service, booked the guided tour for colosseum, pelentine hills & roman forum, the guide came and gave us a 15 min tour to the colosseum and handed us over the tickets to palentine hill & the forum even though it was guided. No guide showed up. I looked at the other guides who were sp elaborate in their tour to the colosseum but our guide was in a rush as he was getting constant calls. It was really sad, v expensive and a waste of our time. I would not recommend!!

Sara did a great job explaining everything and was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately as we were heading to the second part of our guided tour , she was called to do another tour and we were left to fend for ourselves. That was disappointing when we had travelled across the world to visit these historical sites and learn as much as we can.

We were requested to arrive an hour before the tour because “the Colosseum area was crowded” (not 20 minutes as usual.) No one came as we waited the hour in the blazing sun. Five minutes after the tour was set to start, thanks to my panicked emails and phone calls, someone finally came and brought us to the guide, (Alexandra, who was terrific) and the tour itself was very nice. In short, terrible organization, fine visit. Our stress levels in the morning went through the roof, not AT ALL welcome on vacation!!!

Out of the many tours I’ve engaged in this one was not the best. The start was delayed by an hour and the female organiser was not friendly (the males were). The tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable which made up for the bad start. After the colosseum you are left to wander the rest of the sights on your own. Back door entrance to the hill and the forum which was great

I read most of the reviews for this organization and did not expect very much, but our original tour group cancelled on us with only a couple of days and this was our only option. However, our experience was fine. Good communication before the tour. Met on-time, a bit of time to walk around the Colosseum before we could go in, and then went in. We were able to get quickly inside and our guide, must be honest, forget his name, gave good information. Finally we got inside and we had plenty of time to walk around and take pictures, go to the ground level and take pictures, and then met up outside. From there we were lead to the entrance into Palatine Hill/Roman Forum. As described, guided part was only the Colosseum, not these two areas, but we knew that as it was clearly noted in the description of the tour.

This was tickets to skip the line. The tour was very poor. The woman was late, she did not know what “tour” she should be leading. We did a quick tour of the colosseum. She moved us over to the forum, told us two things and left us. There was no Palatine hill tour at all. The forum was extremely limited and basically non existent. If you’d like expensive tickets so that you can get in the colosseum, this “tour” is for you. I suggest planning ahead. I will next time:)
