This tour is an interesting way to learn the history of the Jews from before the common era through the present day.
Rena_M, Mar 2024
We booked this tour as soon as we booked our trip. We wanted to see an understand how Jews lived in Rome through the centuries. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us a good history. We were a bit disappointed that there were not more things to see or that we didn’t see things perhaps in a closer way, we we did learn something which was important, and we are glad we took the tour.
Loved the walking tour with Michael.

This was a great walking experience to parts of Rome you couldn’t find on your own. Our guide Mac was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the Jewish people in Italy, and Roman history in general.

Disappointed
Lisa_Q, Mar 2024
The guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the jewish people in Rome which was very enlightening. However, the first thing he clarified is that the cost of the tour was to reserve our spot and that a tip was his actual payment. There were only 4 of us and it was made clear it was not worth his while. He pretty much walked very fast the entire time and completely ignored my friend and I. We were trailing a bit behind as we already had 20k steps under our belt and he seldom looked to see where we were at. Did not even ask our names or where we were from. Tour lasted one hour as opposed to advertised 2 and he dumped us immediately after crossing the bridge and ran off. We did not finish at the expected ending spot. I did give 2 stars because i really enjoyed hearing the history and he was quite good at conveying it - would have been nice if he had wanted to be there. I wouldn’t discourage people from taking the tour, i think the jewish experience needs to be heard - i just hope you have better luck.
Stumbling stones

Our guide was respectful of the difficult history of the ghetto but superficial in his presentation of it. The tour advertises as including the ghetto and Trastavere but ended before reaching the latter.

A very interesting and different kind of tour. Thanks to our guide Camilla we were able to see a different side of the history of Florence. You don't need to be Jewish to appreciate the history. Camilla brought it all to life in a respectful and enlightening way.
