Sara was a phenomenal guide. She brought the history of the Jewish ghetto to life in a personal way combining history and stories of her own family. This is a must do tour when in Rome!

This was, quite simply, the best tour I have ever been on. Not only was our tour guide, Sara Terracina, knowledgeable and informative, but she also caused us to be emotionally connected with the tour sites. I have never experienced such a human connection to a tour before. The Grand Synagogue is absolutely beautiful. The story of the Jews in Rome dates back over 2,000 years, but it is as fresh as today’s news when Sara tells it. It’s a big story (the Coliseum was build from the money taken from the destruction of the 2nd Temple), a small story (candle wax in the door locks), and everything in between. Sara made each statement easily comprehensible, and yet no detail was too small. I thought we were just going to see the synagogue and walk the Ghetto. Instead, I had a life experience. A most definite 5 star, Excellent tour!!

Sara Terracina was a wonderful guide. We would highly recommend her. Sara has lived her entire life in the community. She left us with a deeper understanding of the Jewish culture and the tragedies that unfolded there. It wasn’t a rote script of a scholar. We were the only couple on the tour so we were able to ask many questions. We enjoyed some bread at a local bakery and after the tour ended, my husband and I enjoyed lunch at a local restaurant.

Our guide Sarah was amazing (very knowledgeable) who taught us much and really brought the past to life, particularly since some of her family lived in the ghetto and the fact that she lost an uncle in the holocaust.
