What To Expect

Rome has a bounty of things to see and the mix of its architecture is a testament to its past; Roman ruins, baroque squares, and Renaissance gardens combine to give the city its enticing edge. See it all on a Rome hop-on hop-off bus tour, and learn about the Italian capital as you go.

Show your ticket as you board your Rome tour bus, and then hop on and off at any of the eight stops around town. See the Colosseum where gory gladiatorial battles once took place, and have your camera ready for Piazza Venezia, home to the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument. Throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain for luck, or stretch your legs on a walk through Vatican City.

The full loop lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours, and audio commentary is provided for each sight you pass. Make use of the free onboard Wi-Fi to share pictures, tweet, or blog about your travels as you go.

Traveler Tips

Don't use this if you schedule an appointment for a tour.
Go on the first day of your tour and not before because the vouchers will start as soon as you get onto the bus .
The buses are frequent so not long to wait until one comes along.

Don’t Recommend
Jennifer_A, Mar 2024
This was not a good experience for us, and we wished we hadn’t spent our money on it. It took a long time for a bus to come. Other companies had multiple buses come, while we waiting for ours. Once onboard, the audio was worthless. We listened to horrible music, while the sites of Rome went by, with everyone wondering what building that was. We don’t recommend this company. You’d be better with a different one, or better yet, do a golf cart tour, which was amazing!
Good tour but overall commentary was lacking
PattiSue_L, Mar 2024
Typical hop on hop off tour. Rome traffic is busy so you spend more time on bus and is easier to walk from points of interest if you are mobile. Was good to do a tour to get a sense of the city. The commentary was lacking in overall history of the city was very limited considering how much we sat in traffic a good overview of the history could have been provided
My solo trip to Rome
Carole_H, Mar 2024
Generally a good service but only issue was that some sights were more accessible from the yellow bus company than this one. Staff very friendly and helpful and accommodating I booked the 72 hour ticket as I was there for 3 days and made getting around the city easier
Rome is the worst Hop-On-Hop-ff I've experienced.
Gerald_O, Mar 2024
The route was littered with building sites, traffic snarls and boring thoroughfares. The only good sight was passing the Coliseum. Boredom and a breakdown of the audio system were the highlights of the worst H-O-H-O experience ever.
A good insight to Rome city

Horrible

Horrible service, unable to get a partial refund. Weather was bad following day but wouldn’t let me get a refund
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hi, we're sorry to read your comment. There are no refunds for adverse weather conditions, but only in case of suspension of the service due to serious weather events.
Good way to get an overview of Rome on limited time
Lee_F, Feb 2024
Driving around the Colosseum we were able to see it from all angles. The view of Palatine Hill from the bus was nice, too. We had to do a lot of walking, though, to get to the many beautiful piazzas, Vatican/St. Peters Basilica, and Roman Forum.

Great way to see the sights!
Linda_T, Feb 2024
This is a great way to get around the city and learn what there is to see. I wish there were a few more drop off points but loved it.

Okay.....
Michael_H, Feb 2024
Rome isn't suited to bus tours with the cobble streets and constant traffic. The tour was ok with good information..

Nice experience, got to see the city
Anant_V, Feb 2024
We sat at the top of an open-to-sky bus, and were able to see all the magnificent buildings on our way around the city. The commentary could have been a little more detailed though. Overall, great experience. The guides at the stops were quite friendly and helpful.

Wonderful Adventure

It was a great adventure. I enjoyed myself very much. A great way to tour Rome. Highly Recommended 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿.
Mums opinion
Marina_L, Jan 2024
Stops included were central to popular sight seeing destinations in the area. Staff weren’t particularly helpful. Pays to do a loop before starting your adventure so you’re familiar with what’s around. Would love to see buses pass more frequently. Music on the headphones is terrible but once audio information starts, good information about the area was included.
All aboard!!
simon_n, Jan 2024
A very enjoyable experience all in. Although a few points just for myself. It could do with a couple more stops for better access to some of the sights in the city section. Also really poor sound quality and lots of distortion with the disposable earphones.
the attendant at the pick...
Karen_T, Jan 2024
the attendant at the pick up point was extremely rude and dismissive. They are only interested in selling you a ticket and gave us the cold shoulder as we prepaid the ticket.
GreatDeal
Omena_S, Dec 2023
I used Viator for this hop on hop off bus experience in Rome. I did save a few dollars on this ticket and it was very easy to use, the only down side the hop on hop off stops are limited and I had to walk a good distance to hop on. Otherwise, a very good deal.
Very Useful Service
Ed_D, Dec 2023
the ability to make our way around Rome was made very easy by the Hop On Hop Off Bus. We could do advanced planning and get within easy walking distance of the sites we wanted to visit. The personnel were helpful in getting us on and off at the right stops. all in all a great experience.
Great way to get around Rome and see the sites first
Amos_L, Nov 2023
A great way to see all the sights and map out a plan of attack as to what you want to do 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. Also a great way to get around to see the sites and then hop back on for the next sites you want to see. Of course, once you hop off at a stop, you will find lots of things to do and you will have a short walk from the bus stop to your sites. But not a big problem at all. We did the 72 hour ticket but I'm not sure we needed that much time and would probably go for either a 24 or 48 hour ticket next time. The busses were all clean and we had no problems with the audio guides or headphones.
Convenient
Michael_O, Nov 2023
It is what it is. A convenient way to see the city and get around, especially of you only have one day. It's easy to find but have your tickets printed (not the pdf voucher) ahead of time. Avoid the street vendors in red smocks selling tickets and go to one of their staffs in red polos to assist you in printing your tickets.
Lack of customer service!
Gudrun_G, Nov 2023
The unprofessional service of whoever was on the phone. The individual was not knowledgeable enough to handle the issue. Said he would query and haven’t heard a thing!
Not as good as other European bus tours
Amanda_B, Oct 2023
Worst European bus tour. Sound not that good on the bus, not very enthusiastic talk, didn’t visit many areas and not very informative
