Our tour guide was good once one was assigned. We scheduled a small group and our original guide did not arrive at the delayed schedule time and there was confusion at the meeting place. We were put with another group which was fine but we did pay extra for a small group. All in all the tour itself was good and informative.

Not a small group. It's was a combined tour from several tour companies. The final guide was from Colosseum. The guide was fine.

Informative & interesting Colosseum archeological tour.

This was a great tour of the Colosseum with a very knowledgeable and interesting archeologist guide. We leant a lot about what performance, gladiators and Popes were really like in ancient Rome. We appreciated the opportunity to go underground as well as above ground.

Confused staff, out of control crowds, awful electronic and mediocre guide. Couldn't be worse. Save money by spending more a little more on a private guide who can actually get u a good experience. Do not do this.

Because of the Marathon, the subway system and most of the streets were closed. We arrived 1 hour late for our tour and ended not being able to see the galleries under the arena. We also didn’t have a your guide. Nobody notified us the day before of all the street closure or the full shutdown of the subway system. This tour was poorly organized and I should be reimbursed.

The ticket gets you inside the Colosseum, so just spend the money on a good ticket once for an amazing experience. I cannot imagine have gone to Rome, gone to the Coliseo, and miss the underground. Totally worth it.

Great start to our trip to Rome. The tour allows you to see so much of the colosseum. The access to the underground area really shows how the shows were run. Cool to be on the arena floor too. Recommend!!!

We booked a small group tour, but 30 people on the tour is not small. The tour guide who is from the Colosseum arrived very late with no apologies. If we are late they will leave without us. Walking through the underground tunnels and pathways the audio guides did not work unless you were right next to the tour guide, which was impossible with 30 people on the tour. The guide didn't seem to care that we couldn't hear anything he was saying. I do not recommend this tour.

Felt very rushed the meeting point was a mess and very unorganized I printed out the voucher that was provided but had no tickets so that took awhile to figure out. Very hard to understand the guide as the earphones had a lot of static. The Colosseum was worth going and learning about but I wouldn’t pay the extra through Viator.

Not what we were hoping for...disappointing

Vendor cancelled the underground portion of tour a few days prior. We were under the impression it was do to not being able to access the underground but we saw people touring there when we were above. Tour operator did adjust the pricing due to the change. The ancient Rome portion of the tour was very good. Since the underground tour was our primary reason for selecting this tour it was very disappointing especially when we saw others touring the area...so it wasn't closed???

This was supposed to be an under 15 person group, leaving at 9:45am that included as part of the tour a visit to the Roman Forum. Instead we were bumped to 11:45am in a group of more than 20 people and were informed at the meeting point that our tour of the Forum wouldn’t happen until late in the afternoon. Relying on the info we had been given at the time of booking this tour, we made other, paid for plans for the afternoon. So we couldn’t go to the Forum as we had been looking forward to. We feel cheated and disappointed. This was not what we paid for and was certainly not as described in the website.
