What To Expect

Join your guide and fellow travelers at Piazzale Flaminio in Rome and board an air-conditioned minibus towards Pompeii. After about 3.5 hours on the road, you'll reach the Pompeii Archaeological Park. Take a guided tour through the town, learning about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and seeing the frozen-in-time remains of the devastation if left behind.

After about 2.5 hours in Pompeii, hop back aboard the minibus and make your way down the scenic Amalfi Coast road for about an hour until you reach Positano, a quiet fishing village that has attracted many literary greats over the years. Spend a bit of time roaming the town or grab lunch at one of the many restaurants before climbing back aboard your minibus and returning to Rome.

The town you visit will depend on the season and weather - Positano, Amalfi (town), or Sorrento.
We encourage a swim on the beach in Positano during your free time should the weather be nice. If you are so inclined, please bring a bathing suit and towel.
Should any part of this tour be closed, we may need to make modifications to the itinerary.
During low season (November - March) most businesses including restaurants in Positano close, making the town a rather dull visit. During this time, we visit the town of Amalfi or Sorrento where ample choices for lunch and shopping abound.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.

Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

I loved the informative thorough tour of Pompeii and learning about the town/buildings/way of life and history. Sorrento was a beautiful small peaceful town, great cuisine. We had plentiful time to eat, shop, and explore. The scenery along the amalfi coast was absolutely breathtaking and amazing the view of the sea and landscape along the drive was spectacular. I enjoyed how the guide talked during the van ride and gave some history she was very knowledgeable kind, helpful and professional. This trips was worthwhile and memorable I am grateful for the experience.

We are a family of 4 with an 11 and 14 year old. We were a little worried it was going to be a little too much of a trek, but it was such a smooth easy day and we were SO glad we maximized our stay in Italy and ventured outside of Rome to see Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. The pick up spot and van were super easy, and comfortable, they stop to allow you to get a snack and use the bathroom. The solo time in the town was wonderful, Pompeii was incredible and we had the best tour guide ever. I highly recommend this trip. The only thing I wish we would have had more time to browse the shops and restaurants next to Pompeii but understood we had to get back to Rome. Lovely day worth every minute and penny.

Federico was great! Pompeii was short and sweet. Not too long and not too short. I think in the summer time it would’ve been pretty awful so if you’re going in the summer bring an umbrella or something because it was pretty hot and it’s spring. Our guide at Pompeii Caterina was good and knowledgeable! Almafi Coast & Sorrento were beautiful on the way to Positano. Positano was such a treat. Long day but Federico was so in tune with what the group needed. When to give us some history when to not talk as much etc. He is very good at what he does! We also had an excellent driver.

Excellent trip. Our guide Federico was knowledgeable, funny, energetic, excellent! Our driver Daniel was so skilled. Pompeii was amazing, amalfi driver was beautiful and Positano was absolutely stunning. Plenty of time in each part. Very much recommend.

Federico was a wonderful guide! He is very friendly and knowledgeable! He gave us a rundown of Roman history which helped us to understand the context of the events at Pompeii. And the visit to Positano was like something from a fairy tale. If you are on the fence about this tour, just do it! It provides something for everyone! History, views, shopping, and terrific food — enough to please everyone!

Pompeii was very interesting. Hilary did a great job. She knew so much it was a big plus to have her as our guide. I wish we had additional time there to free rain the area. Combine this with the museum in Naples and you’d have a great experience. The coast was nice to see but I was greatly disappointed by Postiano. It was a high end shopping experience, not what I was looking for. Not worth the extra drive time at all. It was a long drive in a cramped van. Our driver & guide on the bus did a great job.

The truth is it has very beautiful and interesting sights. Breath taking. But the bus trip its brutal. There are around back and forth 7 hours of bus ride. 2 hours of pompei ruins. And 2 hours of amalfi coast. By the time u arrive and eat something the time flew by. 😞.

I enjoyed Pompeii, but it rained heavily and no one planned for this, so there was nowhere to take shelter from the rain, unfortunately. Everyone was soaked. It also hailed and that was very painful. By the time we drove by the Amalfi Coast, the sun came out. This part was the best experience of the entire day. Views were breathtaking and we had time to do our own thing! Did some shopping, limoncello tasting is a must!
