What To Expect

Board your luxury coach, and travel from Rome to Tuscany with its scenic, rolling hills. Your first stop is Montepulciano, a town renowned for its fine wine and views. The Renaissance hilltown is best-known for its production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a full-bodied red wine. Learn about it on a walking tour, and discover highlights such as the Florence-style clock tower, the cathedral with its yet-to-be-finished façade, medieval wine cellars, and the old town walls.

Hear how the local vineyards produce the acclaimed Brunello di Montepulciano wine, and then sample a glass for yourself over a 3-course lunch at a local farm. In traditional Tuscan style, the menu features fresh farm-grown produce as well as a selection of local wine.

From the farm, travel on to Pienza, one of the region’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here, enjoy free time to explore. The layout of the town was created by Pope Pius II, who wanted to change the look of his birth town. Admire the historic center, which stays true to the pope’s vision, and gaze at the fine architecture that abounds. We would highly recommend this trip! Our guide Ana and driver Rommel were fabulous! Ana was informative and entertaining! She shared interesting facts about the region, food, and wine. We stopped at delightful little towns, a beautiful winery and interesting churches and piazzas. The food was delicious. The wine was wonderful. The travel was comfortable. Marta was our guide in Montepulciano. Because she is a local to the area, we thought her stories and insight made the tour! We fell in love with the valley! The Tuscan area was a dream to spend time in!

There was so much more to this tour than I had anticipated. We went to three different towns, samples galore, and STUNNING views from the top of the village of Montepulciano. The vineyard owners were the sweetest sisters and their food was *chefs kiss* as were their wines. I had no idea all the culture I would be immersed in - was truly well worth the money and the experience and a definite must do if staying in Rome and wanting to venture out for the day.

I was traveling to Italy to celebrate my 50th birthday. The day of my birthday I booked this tour. It was incredible, Anna our guide and Andre our driver were amazing. Anna has so much passion and is extremely knowledgeable. She ensured that we were all together, safe and happy. This is a MUST, the food was incredible, the scenery, the history. I will say wear very comfy shoes and be prepared to eat delicious food!!

The scenery was lovely. Montepulciano was beautiful. Our guide was not in Rome on time. We were told by our Montepulciano guides that we were 2 hours late. The result of this was that all the shops were closing. We were not able to see as much. The guide could only take us part way because we were so late. Very very disappointing.

Loved Tuscany! Would suggest spending MORE time in Montepulceano rather than the second town. Being Jewish the Christmas market was not for me and yet there was no time to go back down into the main part of town as I would like. The views in the second town were fantastic but 30 minutes there instead of an hour would make more sense. Guide and driver were.very good, and guide in Montepulceano was excellent. The lunch experience was amazing. Thank you.

We were a group of four ladies from ages 20 to 60 and we all had a great time. Montipulciano was a beautiful city and the other stops were fantastic. Our lunch at the winery was wonderful. The sister's that ran it were a hoot. We had ample time to walk and explore each stop. Sonia G (our tour guide) and Antonio (driver) were wonderful. She gave us very useful information for the tour and when we arrive back into Rome. She had a great sense of humor and was very gracious. Antonio got us there and back safely. I am not a tour person, but, would recommend this tour.

This was a very memorable tour! We were lucky to have Antonio as a driver and Sonia G as our tour guide. Sonia provided a lot of interesting historical information and culture facts. Tour takes a route through the Tuscany hills and sometimes narrow road makes a lot of turns. Nonetheless, bus ride was very smooth. Views were amazing! Small medieval towns Montepulciano and Pienza really made me feel like we went back in time. There was a local tour guide who took us through Montepulciano- learned a lot of fascinating facts about local culture and history. Overall, this is a great tour to experience Tuscany in just one short day.

The tour was fun, we enjoyed the visit to the cities and most of all the lunch hosted by Cecilia and Angela at Pulcino. Magnificent photographic views at every stopping point. There were several tour participants who were by themselves and they should have been seated together in the bus, instead, my wife and I ended up sitting at the back. Communication can be better. We could only hear half of the items the guide was saying. The earphones could have been used more effectively.
