What To Expect

Board your luxury coach, and travel from Rome to Tuscany with its scenic, rolling hills. Your first stop is Montepulciano, a town renowned for its fine wine and views. The Renaissance hilltown is best-known for its production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a full-bodied red wine. Learn about it on a walking tour, and discover highlights such as the Florence-style clock tower, the cathedral with its yet-to-be-finished façade, medieval wine cellars, and the old town walls.

Hear how the local vineyards produce the acclaimed Brunello di Montepulciano wine, and then sample a glass for yourself over a 3-course lunch at a local farm. In traditional Tuscan style, the menu features fresh farm-grown produce as well as a selection of local wine.

From the farm, travel on to Pienza, one of the region’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here, enjoy free time to explore. The layout of the town was created by Pope Pius II, who wanted to change the look of his birth town. Admire the historic center, which stays true to the pope’s vision, and gaze at the fine architecture that abounds. If you are a fan of food, check the shops for pecorino cheese, arguably Pienza’s most prized product.

We would highly recommend this trip! Our guide Ana and driver Rommel were fabulous! Ana was informative and entertaining! She shared interesting facts about the region, food, and wine. We stopped at delightful little towns, a beautiful winery and interesting churches and piazzas. The food was delicious. The wine was wonderful. The travel was comfortable. Marta was our guide in Montepulciano. Because she is a local to the area, we thought her stories and insight made the tour! We fell in love with the valley! The Tuscan area was a dream to spend time in!

Oh my god, this trip is amazing, seeing the Tuscan valleys, a guided tour around the amazing (but hilly) Montepulciano and hearing the stories of filming, the valleys, the guides personal family history was amazing. The vineyard / farm tour was lovely being invited in by one of the sisters and then heading up to restaurant to be greated by the second sister. The food and wine was amazing, we had a gluten intolerance in our party was looked after so well and the food was gorgeous and she felt totally included in the while experience. Our guide Mari was so knowledgeable and happy to help with anything and everything. This is a must do trip, you are so well looked after and told everyyhing throughout the day

It was an excellent experience, it was a beautiful tour. Maritza our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the area and subject. The guide that gave us the tour in Montepulciano was incredible and very funny, we also enjoyed the tour. Lucas the driver was also very helpful and an excellent driver.

A full day..great stops for sightseeing, shopping and restrooms! Chiara was an excellent guide for the day..knowledgeable! I would suggest a written menu of food and wines...could not tell you names of any wines today. All pretty good though. Pics at the lunch, wine tasting..the staff did a great job.

The Tuscan landscape and small towns/villages that we visited were the highlights. We were fortunate with sunny skies. Our tour guide, Claudia, was terrific. She was very knowledgeable and created a continuous story throughout our journey. She advised us well about value for money and what to look out for on this trip and to assist with others ideas in Rome. Johnny was a very friendly and well presented driver, along with be an excellent, safe driver. Claudia and Johnny were a great team. The lunch was authentic which was great to experience.

It was nice to be out of Rome for a day, and you do see nice countryside from the bus, but overall it was a very touristy and commercial tour and I’d be hard pressed to recommend. First stop is a warehouse tour building off the highway filled with various almonds, lotions, EVOO, chocolate, wine and other stuff. Not necessarily bad, but certainly not authentic Italian feel. Lunch is very gimmicky and subpar pasta that tasted like canned sauce from the States. Cheese was good and wine was ok, but the entire lunch was rushed and not well explained. Although labeled as a farmhouse, it is a fast food type restaurant that seemingly caters to just tour groups. And then wants you to buy expensive wine and EVOO. Tour of town was nice but very quick. Overall you spend about 7 hours on a bus. Certainly not a wine tour either. Only do it if you want to get away from Rome, have everything planned for you, and don’t mind just seeing the sights from a bus window. Guides were very kind and very good. Tour itself is just below average though.
