Mud Bath Experience Rotorua NZ
Sanjeev_M, Mar 2024
Good experience. The mud bath was good, and the hot spring pool also was relaxing! Would recommend to a friend. Skin felt softer after mud bath.
So educational and relaxing
Raina_C, Mar 2024
We did the geothermal walk and the mud bath. Definitely a wonderful experience to see the earth so hot and then enjoy the healing powers. The staff was knowledgeable, the walk and bath areas were maintained well. We also learned how to carve wood which was fun too. You’ll just be in awe of the behavior of the mud in its habitat.
Relaxing start to our trip.

Nice and relaxing. Not a lot of mud, but enough to smear on yourself. The showers had little to no warm water, so it wasn't enjoyable cleaning up afterwards. Other than that, I would do it again.
Family reunion road trip experience

Experiencing the mud spa pools was part of our road trip across the North Island and we’re so pleased we booked in advanced. Great experience.
Very organized and professional

We had a long day of adventures and decided to soak for muscle relief. The staff were really professional and friendly. We did the mud bath and then the hot and cold plunge 3 times ending on the cold plunge. We felt so relaxed and invigorated at the same time as we walked to our car. Worth every penny!
A little bit of Heaven

It was an amazing experience, my 1st mud bath. Everyone was super friendly from the check-in staff, to the two staff explaining the conditions and looking after my belongings but especially Johnelle and Liam who looked after me in the mud bath and spas. It was so relaxing, I had an awesome afternoon. Thank you all.
Unique and Soothing Experience for All Ages

You get 20 minutes in the mud but then can bathe in the other pools for as long as you like. They will rent towels and bathing suits. I wish we could have spent more time in the mud but I felt amazing all day long afterwards. Have never done this before and I loved it!
Worth doing

We enjoyed the experience. The mud pool was something new to us and we felt very relaxed afterwards.
Lovely time Friendy Staff

They run the baths very well, suppling bathers , towels, only thing is we got the sting from the baths in our eyes and couldn’t see for any hour 😂😂😂
Great experience but smelly
Meilin_D, Feb 2024
Beautiful maori owned and run facility. Don't let the smell in the parking lot deter you. It is strong, but nose gets tired fast. Bring plastic bags for all towels and bathing suits for after. Be prepared for smell to stay with you for a day. Don't plan to be in close contact or enclosed spaces. Bring air freshener for the car.
Relaxing and wonderful

Rent a towel and swimsuit so your own don’t fill with mud. You can keep your sunglasses and flip flops. You lock up your clothes. One guest had her phone in a clear pouch so she got a few pictures. It’s an absolutely lovely experience. Try to have someone with you to put the mud on your back. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner because they only have soap. I felt totally relaxed and my skin was so smooth.
Healing Fun
Thomasina_L, Feb 2024
The Mud Bath experience is a unique way to spend some tine soaking up the sun and heat in an unusual landscape. All my aches and pains disappeared by the end of my day.
It was and enjoyable...
Scott_Y, Feb 2024
It was and enjoyable experience and if you end with the cold Plunge you walk away smell free until the next day when it comes out of your pores
fun experience
mailbourke, Feb 2024
Well organised fun experience the hired swim wear had no sizing which made selection hard locker and change rooms good
Quite good but could have gone a bit further.
Laura_W, Jan 2024
This was so much fun. Very clean and a lot fun. We do have to say that there were a few issues. After reading reviews we chose to rent suits and towels. The smallest available was a 14 and I need a 4...I was able to get a smaller one from the staff member but this took a bit more effort than I feel that it should. We really would have enjoyed being able to walk around the steam vents a bit more
Perfect mud bath place for small groups!
Louis_O, Jan 2024
Had a great time with my partner. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend small groups to visit there.
Don’t skip the tour
John_L, Jan 2024
Thoroughly enjoyed our morning here starting with the guided tour which was extensive and done with great enthusiasm and humour by our guide Ngāti, providing an understanding of the history and its significance to Māori culture. The mud bath was a great bit of relaxation before our onward journey with ever-friendly and helpful staff making sure everything ran smoothly.

Friendly staff. They are ready to provide good service despite it being unusually busy during peak period. They are also keen to help with respect to lost property.
