Traveler Tips

This is the best of the best in the this area.
It was ok, probably, not really necessary except to space out the diners.
A wonderful way to get in touch with the Mahori culture.

Enjoyed learning Maori words, poi dancing, meaning of Hakka ceremony. Dinner was excellent. We sat with people from different countries and enjoyed talking with them. Beware the email ticket response. Our email said the bus would leave at 6:15 p.m. It actually left at 5:30 so we missed our scheduled Maori Show. Fortunately the lady who oversees the tours came by and informed us that we had the wrong time. She arranged for us to see the Show the next nite. Very nice people.
An invitation to understanding and sharing

From the bus pick up and wonderful welcoming song, through the amazing dance, singing and commentary, the whole thing was simply amazing. We were invited into their home and family. This followed as all family gatherings do, with an abundance of amazing food to share. In my language Marrungbu , ngatha Marrung. Gapu. ( Thank you, I’m very happy, see you again).
Great

This was a very fun and interactive experience. Adults and kids will enjoy the various houses of learning. The food was amazing for an experience like this, and the special musical touch at the end was so much fun. A definite fun time while learning about the Maori culture.
A joyous and interesting event

the stories and experience shared with the presenters f the experience. Having visited in 2007 and 2010, when in 2007 I was my Waka chief and got the Tikka, which I pressed in a book and took the Tikka back to the event in 2010
Great night

Fun evening out! Learned about culture hands on, and had a spectacular feast. Nice to mingle with other tourists. Appreciated the hotel pickup since we were not familiar with the area.

From the time that we left the bus, we were pleasantly entertained. The introduction to another culture other that the one we were accustomed to was very interesting! The meal was delicious, the singing and dancing was superb!
Everybody together through music
Paul_B, Mar 2023
All parts are fine, first the 4 parts of spel, then the performance and after that the meal. The world together ..
HUGE HIGHLIGHT
Bianca_Y, Mar 2023
100/10 highly recommend Te Pa Tu! Brilliant and respectful display and sharing of Maori culture. I loved being invited into their village, being able to ask questions, walk around. Then to be invited into the gathering space where cultural practices in history are explained, demonstrated - and in some parts, we were invited on stage to share in their culture and participate! Dinner was super lovely, we were seated in tables of 10 and served family style. And the fun didn't stop at dinner. It didn't even stop on the bus ride home! Truly an amazing experience and for sure when I come back will I be doing this again!!
The only way you would be disappointed is if you didn’t go
Steve_J, Mar 2023
This experience is amazing. Everyone performing showed true passion in showing their culture and in learning yours. This will be a cherished memory and I thank them for that.
Must do
Aubrey_B, Mar 2023
Felt like I got to truly get a glimpse of the culture in an authentic and respectful way. It’s difficult to find activities like this that are not appropriation. Went solo and had a marvelous time. Warm and welcoming team that genuinely wanted to share parts of their culture. Don’t get me started on the food- which was so good I wanted to weep. 😍
Magical cultural experience
Brent_M, Mar 2023
This was a very memorable experience learning about the traditions of the Maori people. The most pleasant surprise was the intimate dining setting at the end where we got to meet some.felliw travellers. Highly recommend.
Absolutely Amazing!

Average experience
Cecil_H, Mar 2023
We enjoyed learning the history. The food was below average and the service was extremely slow. A tour group was part of our tour and they seemed to get better service than anyone. Our table mates were also very disappointed with the meal experience.
