Get off the beaten path to experience some of the best Lappish traditions in the wilderness outside of Rovaniemi. Try out a Finnish sauna, go ice swimming an Arctic lake, then cozy up around a fire in a cozy cottage for dinner. Your guide will fill you in on the cultural significance of all the activities as you go.

Please note, starting time might be subject to change, we will confirm the time to you by e-mail! Tour includes a pick up & drop off transfer from Rovaniemi centrally located hotels and Santa Claus Village. Missing the pick-up does not entitle you to a refund of the price paid for the services. You are responsible to be ready for pick up at the assigned pick up point from the start of the pick up time in order to not miss our guides when they arrive to pick you up.

  • Northern Lights are a natural occurrence and we are unable to guarantee activity, vibrancy or colour on the evening of the tour.
  • Northern lights can only be seen in October - middle of March, 5pm departure only
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 14 travelers

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

BE AWARE OF THIS TOUR Terrible experience. If I can, I will give this trip zero star. Very unprofessional tour guide and the very poor communication from the company. We participated 4 tours at Rovianiemi, all other three from other companies were awesome and we had a lot of fun except this one. Do not waster your money and time.

Great experience! So glad we did it! Sauna & dip in the lake were awesome! My wife wasn’t sure how she would do with the dip in the lake and she ended up going in four times, and the salmon was delicious! The entire meal was really good. A true authentic Finnish experience and one of our top three favorite things we did on our entire trip!

The whole experience was fantastic, Alex was great and both him and his wife really helped us to capture the feeling of a Lappish way of life. Food was outstanding and the sauna and lake was a totally unique experience, especially at -11 outside! Would highly recommend this tour to get a real taste of Finnish life.
Worth every penny!! Don't hesitate to include on your trip :)

Easily one of the best part of our trip! Spent my birthday doing this activity and it was sooo worth it! Pedro picked us up from Rovaniemi center. We started on time and it was -17 degrees at that time. We were given clear instructions and started to change to go inside the Sauna. It was a wonderful experience. Also met lots of lovely people :) It is a memorable experience especially dipping in the ice lake with -17 degrees outside!! Did it for 2 times (25mins sauna then dip, repeat 2x then sauna at the end) After that, we went inside for a nice salmon meal and at the end Pedro even gave us interesting stories about Finland. Everything was smooth. I would love to to this again if given a chance! :)

This was an amazing experience! Our tour guide was great and it was a small group, so made it much more intimate. Once given the instructions; you were left to spend your time how like. The lake plunge was a unique experience. Dinner was also delicious! Highly recommend this story-one of our favorite things we did!

If you’re looking for an authentic Lappish experience, this is it. We loved every second of it. Our group of four - two adults and two children (11 and 8) joined another couple in a group of six. We were taken by Pedro in his van from Santa Claus out to the cabin. It had no running water, which was an experience in itself, and we were given a welcome and introduction to the sauna, main house and the lake. We spent two hours between sauna and lake, which was truly invigorating. The kids did it as well and loved it - they even did snow angels in their swimsuits. We then enjoyed an incredible lunch and a really interesting chat with Pedro about the Finnish sauna lifestyle. Highly recommend

Great experience! Everything was beyond expected !! Everything was so well organized and magical! Tanija and Alex the couple who run this business explained everything accurately and in interesting way ! We had a delicious lappish dinner after the sauna and lake immersion (you don’t have to but we do recommend) and a right on time pick up from hotel and dropped at hotel.
A must! This experience was nothing short from liberating!

I cannot explain how amazing it is to have had this experience. The hosts were nothing but welcoming and wonderful people! When you are in the very very cold water, after leaving the sauna, you forget about everything else and you are just present in the moment! It is a beautiful sensation. I hope to come back and do this experience again someday!

The tour is run but a lovely couple and they were extremely accommodating to me. I really wanted to do this, however every excursion I found had a minimum of 2 people (including this one), I even at one point considered just buying two tickets, as I didn’t know when I would be back in Finland. Don’t get me wrong, I love solo traveling but this is an issue I face all the time. I asked Viator to call the people running the excursion to see if they would be will to take one person, and they did, I don’t think they changed me more (some excursion have done that). If you don’t ask you’re likely to receive. After the sauna and ice swimming, we were welcomed to a traditional Icelandic dinner, which was lovely. Highly recommended, I can’t remember if they offer this tour at different times in day, but I recommend you do it at night, I understand that some people don’t like swimming in dark water, but it’s was so gorgeous, especially as the moon and stars were out that night:

Had a lovely time. The sauna/ice lake combo felt great and was good for the body, a very healthy activity. The food was amazing and the chat after dinner was informative and entertaining. We definitely left with a better understanding of the life and culture of Lapland.

Sauna 90° lac glacé 0°🥶🥶 pendant 2h , 3 immersions tres rapide Belle expérience. Sortir a zéro degré facile s allonger dans la neige facile, lac gelé yahoo. Repas saumon crudités pomme de terre très réconfortant.
