This vintage transport method, offering comprehensive access to some of San Diego’s best attractions, is a convenient way to get around without breaking the bank.
Climb aboard the trolley at any of its 11 convenient stopping points (see Itinerary below) any time during its normal operating hours. Trolleys come to each stop every 30 minutes. One of the many sights you can visit during the course of your ride is Old Town State Historic Park, often called the “Jamestown of the Pacific,” where you can discover the history of California’s founding amidst the area’s range of 19th-century buildings. There are also stops along the way for the world-famous San Diego Zoo, which houses a virtual Noah’s Ark of wildlife, the USS Midway and the historic Gaslamp Quarter.

Operating Schedule: Times vary depending on season. Operates 9:00am to 6 pm (last tour departs Old Town at 4 pm) from March 11-October 29th; Operates 9:00am to 5 pm (last tour departs Old Town at 3 pm) from October 30th-March 10th; Trolleys arrive at each boarding location approximately every 20 minutes. Guests will be given brochures when they begin the tour and can refer to the schedules printed in the brochure to see the first tour time, last tour time, and last re-boarding time at each boarding location. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

A:Yes, we can accommodate strollers but they must be folded and will be stored up front with the conductor on space-available basis. Strollers in the aisle ways would constitute a safety hazard.

A:Service animals are the only animals that are allowed on board the trolleys. Animal species other than dogs, emotional support animals, comfort animals, companion animals, and service animals in training are not permitted.

Little time? Great way to get an overview of the sights and neighborhoods. We purchased a 2 day pass. First we did the complete 2 hour circuit tour. It helped us determine what attractions we wanted to see in more depth and then for next day and half used the trolley for transportation. Saved us the hassle and cost of finding parking. Even though we repeated several cycles over 2 days, each tour driver brought an added view or story as we went along.

I had a bit of a problem finding the stop at the Maritime Museum. The man at the museum ticket office sent me in the wrong direction, then I was sent back by a valet parking attendant. I saw the trolley across the street, so I went there thinking this will be the stop, despite it was on the other side. Fortunately Rico, who was on a brake, as it turned out, was very helpful, getting out and showing me exactly where I was supposed to go. Finally I found it but I have to tell you, you need to make that sign higher, more visible. It is on the ground and there are a lot of cars parking around it, making it really hard to spot.
I was lucky enough to have Rico later as my driver-guide and I must say, I learned a lot from him. He was as helpful as knowledgeable. Thank you Rico!

Thé best. Guides were knowledgeable and funny. Just one thing: wish there was a stop nearer San Diego Zoo. The suggested 20 min walk is wrong. Took me 90 min. On hot day. Cab back to tram pick up.

it was great way to see the city without having to drive. We got off and spent some time at the Midway, had lunch in Coronado, went to the Car Museum in Balboa Park. We could have covered the same about of ground in a car, but then I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the sights myself and we got some great information from the driver/guides. My 12 year old grandson said it was his favorite thing we did on our trip.

Great addition to my weekend trip. I was able to see and hear about the history of San Diego in a couple of hours. The drivers were entertaining. Cost was reasonable.

This Hop on Hop Off Trolley Tour was amazing and a great way to see San Diego. All tour guides were very informative. Super easy to get on and off to see what you want to see. Our family was really impressed with the San Diego tour. Some of our favorite stops were Old Town, Maritime Museum, Barrio Logan, Coronado and Balboa Park. We would recommend this tour!
