Boring overpriced over marketed for what it actually is.
ahdieh_a, Apr 2024
We wet to a safari but there were no lions tigers or such like. There was one baby jaguar the size of a cat . It was very disappointing and boring and way over price the pictures are not representative of what you will actually see. very overrated
Arrive early to see animals being active
Caroline_F, Apr 2024
We got there right at 9am and saw a good amount of animals still out and about. While waiting for the African tram, we saw the lion coming out! Loved it! The gorillas, giraffes and elephants were amazing and it was great to see them feed. Most of all, I enjoyed seeing my family members happy smiles! For all other visitors, I’d recommend going early in the day to catch a lot of animals still being active. We went in April and can’t imagine visiting during the summer months. I’d be too hot!

I have always wanted to visit the San Diego Zoo. When I discovered the Safari Park we decided to spend the day there. My husband & I really enjoyed our day. A volunteer suggested a route to take so we could cover the entire park. We went in early December and the crowds were small but not many of the food places were open. We arrived early and the animals were out and about. We saw tiger cubs playing and the baby giraffe and so much more.
Wonderful Day

Different Experiences

Well its a new experience, if you used to go to Zoo always, thats another option, you have to walk a lot, Up & Down, and the tram you which available with your ticket 69$ you can see the animals from a distance, if you need to be close enough to animals you have to book a smaller truck which it cost you 90-100$ per person, the food was good in the park & you varieties.
Best vacation

A great experience to see African animals so close in San Diego
Linsey_X, Aug 2023
I booked the ticket at Viator and paid $69. The ticket in the zoo booth is $71. It did not save me a lot . But it works fine and I just need them to scan the mobile ticket ( I can add them to my wallet and it is very convenient). I rode the Africa Tram ( included in the price) to see Giraffes, rhinos, elands, etc. There is also a wide life seeing truck for one hour. I paid $99 for it. That is great experience - to see them closer. I made the right purchase - I recommended you to buy the wild life tour. I am very happy that I came to the zoo safari and saw the Giraffes. They are beautiful, they like to go around. I saw them later drinking water from the pond.
Very wasted visit
elyse_A, Aug 2023
Very unhappy with the safari park. Very disappointed in what little animals they had. If I would have been told this prior, I would have gone to the zoo. I didn’t expect to do so much walking n not being able to see many animals along the route. Not being able to see gorillas was the nuggets upset if the journey. I would definitely advise friends n family not to waste time n money going there.
Just ok
Carrie_M, Jul 2023
Park was just ok. The map of the park wasn’t super helpful in navigating, and trying to identify where to go. Not much shade either to find respite if a super hot day. With the price of the ticket and the cost of parking, would recommend going to the San Diego Zoo, and not the safari park.
Horrible experience - tickets do not work at park
Claudia_G, Jul 2023
The tickets did not work at the park, they were unrecognizable and we could not get in with them. The manager was nice enough to give comp tickets since we came so far for the experience.
Safari experience
