The beach was awesome, gentle waves and warm water in a beautiful, secluded bay! We saw toucans, sloths, lots of iguanas and monkeys - watch your food bags, the monkeys are very friendly, and may zero in on snacks! It's an easy hike and so peaceful! Our tour guide, Jerry gave a lot of information about the country as well as the park, and managed our time well to avoid traffic. The breakfast at the "Crocodile Bridge" was great, and I recommend the rice and mariscos lunch option at the park hotel - overall well worth the trip.

Day 3

I'm just giving it a 4 star since i haven't really seen much of a wildlife except fo the white faced monkey, Pesote, and a family of Iguana, the name I could not remember. View is nice. The guide Edgardo is great.

BEWARE of the overall TRIP TIME
Dan_B, Jan 2024
The park itself was fantastic, and I would recommend visiting. The problem I had was with the overall communication with the tour company. They did not provide information about if we had to bring towels with us or not. Once the trip started then they said we could rent towels from them. In the 1st part of the trip, they take you for breakfast. However, after about a 1.5-hour ride, they pull into a Souviener shop / cafeteria-style restaurant. Which would be fine, I'm all about trying local food. However, we arrived at the same time as 4 other large tour groups. So we ended up having to wait in line for food for about 45 min. Which was crazy given we passed so many local places that we could have been in and out of much faster. Overall the breakfast food was very basic and nothing special. After arriving at the park, around 3 pm we all meet up for lunch at a local hotel. Can you imagine passing several authentic restaurants in town, to then having to have terrible hotel food, crazy! The worst part was they did not mention on the way back we would encounter a lot of traffic. We left the hotel at 4:15 to head back to San Jose, we didn't arrive back to our hotel till 11 pm. It should have only been about a 2-hour drive. So many people in our group had already made other plans, and even one group missed their flight. The tour guide said it was always like this coming back. Again they should have said something in advance. We had another tour planned the next morning at 6am, so I called the travel group (same company) to reschedule for the following day because of the traffic situation. They agreed to change it, but then I had to pay an additional $17 per person. Now that you know all the things bad things, our tour guide and driver did a fantastic job. The park was great, tons of monkey to see and sloths. You will enjoy this trip as long as you are aware of the above issues.
Guide does not have a scope
Candice_v, Dec 2023
Although the tour is listed as a Guided tour, I think it’s important to note that this does not include a guide with a Scope to spot the animals close. This was personally very disappointing. Lunch however was a highlight, great location and amazing cocktails. 5 stars to the driver who had to endure high season traffic.

Fun and worth the money
Kevin_K, Oct 2023
Our tour guide was Fran, who was very knowledgeable about Costa Rica and the places we visited. It’s a long drive but very worth it. It depends on what time you get there for how much time you get at the park, but we got 4 hours to explore it as we wanted. I got some good hiking in then went to the beach to cool off. Lots of beautiful scenery and animals all around, would highly recommend. Do keep in mind that single use plastics (bags, bottles) and food are not permitted in the park, I had to throw out some stuff before we entered. Otherwise just enjoy yourself.

We are glad to know that you liked the tour and that you were able to enjoy the visit to this beautiful place. Thank you
M.A. is Magical
Fernando_R, Aug 2023
Excellent tour. I was not sure if I wanted to visit M.A. as many had noted the early departure from SJO + ride issues as undesireable, but this entire tour was pleasant from start-to-finish. The stops along the way were very well organized. Breakfast and lunch were palatable and enjoyable. M.A. is a must see in Costa Rica. The biodiversity you will see with these knowledgeable guides is priceless. You know when there's something in the environment by the crowds. Come well prepared with the right attire, sunblock, and bug repellant. The security guards barely check your bags, but please for the love of these beautiful animals don't be that person who ruins it for us all by bringing in food.- stick to the rules It's worth it. Promise. You will feel the magic once you get past the oppressiveness of the sun/humidity. Enjoy! Pura Vida is alive and well down here.

Amazing day trip with adventures
Kristina_K, Jul 2023
Great day trip. We had so much fun - everything was arranged perfectly: pick up and drop off at our hotel, bfast and lunch, surprise stops on the way and our free time in amazing Manuel Antonio park. Our guide Fran was amazing and our driver too. Can definitely recommend this experience.

The best tour in Costa Rica
Laura_J, Jun 2023
We had a wonderful trip, I highly recommend this tour! There must not have been anyone else that booked the tour on the day we went because we had a personal tour. Richardo picked us up in a car and the 3 of us went on our way. He was extremely knowledgeable about costa rica and was really friendly. He helped us find monkeys, birds, iguanas and even a couple sloths at the park. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and he let us spend as much time as we wanted in the ocean. Then, he took us to an exceptional restaurant for lunch afterwards with a to die for view of the ocean. 10 out of 10, you've got to do this tour!

Long but full day in Manuel Antonio - do it!
Brooke_R, May 2023
Loved our tour with Fran and Freddy! Fran made the long drive fun with informative discussion about Costa Rican culture. Freddy was a safe and courteous driver. I loved getting to spend time at Manuel Antonio. Breakfast and lunch are great. Loved the stops along the way, such as to see jaco and tarcoles bridge

A must visit park!
MihaelaRuxandra_M, May 2023
A superb national park and a beautiful day trip. The location for lunch was wow, to the most beautiful hotel just outside the national park! Loved it!
Had so much fun!
Mat_S, Apr 2023
Our guide, Fran, was super energetic and friendly. She took the time to give all information to the customers in both spanish and english. It would be hard not to have a great time given all the enthusiasm she gives to the tour!
We could see the wild...
Nozomi_M, Mar 2023
We could see the wild sloths! The price might seem expensive but the breakfast and lunch includes the price and you can have enough free time to enjoy the beach!
Manuel Antonio tour from San Jose - long but full day
Alex_L, Mar 2023
The day trip was a full day coming from San Jose but it was a fun tour. Fran did a great job talking about the nature, culture and history along the way. We stopped at a restaurant for a traditional Costa Rican breakfast which we enjoyed. Afterward, we walked to the Crocodile Bridge and saw 3 crocodiles. We then went to Manuel Antonio National Park and the views were great. We saw several Capuchin monkeys and a tree sloth. Visitors to the park should bring a Yeti or some container not plastic as disposable water bottles and other plastic bags are not allowed. Food wasn’t allowed, but it didn’t stop some visitors from bringing in outside food. Watching a monkey steal someone’s lunch inside a Tupperware container happened as a result. The tour has a lot of walking, so people should be careful from the walking and the heat, stay hydrated! The late lunch afterward was very well laid out and enjoyable. Long day, but fulfilling.
A day to remember
Elizabeth_S, Mar 2023
The breakfast was very good, the ride it’s long , you stop a few times and enjoy different points in Costa Rica. The time in Manuel Antonio seems a little short to do all the things you can do there, lunch was very good

Very nice tour. Tour guide very professional and friendly. The park itself was nice except the fact to the park theres no food and youre not allowed to take food.
Manuel Antonio National Park
Luis_A, Feb 2023
Amazing trip! But it was about a 3 1/2 hour car ride each way. It was an extremely long day but it was the most affordable and easiest way for me to experience the gorgeous National Park and Beach. The food was great, they had vegan/vegetarian options for me. I felt safe and our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful with anything I needed. Once you arrive after breakfast, you first walk through the National Park then end up on the gorgeous beach. Once you're on the beach ask your guide about the 2nd beach that is toward the back. It was less busy and had plenty of space. I went on a weekday in February and it was not busy at all, plenty of space to relax. The water was great and had no rocks, just smooth sand when I went. Along the way, Just be sure to tell your driver to stop if you see a good photo spot. Be sure to bring plenty of towels as they do not provide any towels at the Park/Beach. Also, bring a refillable water bottle as they had a few water fill stations in the park. In the future, I'd stay overnight in a nearby hotel, but if you're like me and needed same day round trip accommodations from San Jose I'd higly recommend this experience.

Tour was excellent. Arturo was very through and has nice personality
RW_C, Feb 2023
Arturo the guide was very informative and friendly. The tour was a long day but rally worth it. Meals were good. Saw lots of animals and birds.
Stunning views, tons of animals, and fantastic guide, Arturo!
clare_s, Jan 2023
This was an amazing trip with a knowledgeable and funny guide, Arturo! We saw lots of animals (three types of monkeys, several sloths, warring iguana's and birds) and had a great hike with stunning outlooks. The Beaches were beautiful and pristine. The ride was scenic and the breakfast and lunch were quite good. The view from the canopy level lunch terrace was spectacular. I saw a toucan land on a nearby tree while sipping on a delightful pina colada! We even caught the sunset over the water in Jaco on the way home. 10 out 10 would recommend!
