Sunsets in Sarasota are even more spectacular when viewed from the water. Join the Sharkey’s sunset and illuminated night tour to discover Sarasota’s waterways in a new light. You’ll slide into a glass bottom kayak that’s outfitted with LED lights. Paddle into the mangroves and grass flats, viewing marine life beneath you and astounding plant life around you. Use your lights to spot crabs, stingrays, shrimp and more.

Please call us if you need help with directions on the way to the Tour location. Another reference point would be Mote Marine Aquarium when you see the 2 story blue building on the left then turn right & the boat ramp we meet at is directly ahead & will take you directly into the grass parking lot.

What To Expect

As the sun sets, embark on your adventure by putting on your safety equipment and climbing aboard a kayak equipped with LED lights. Your boat is specially designed without any drain holes, so you can wear whatever clothing you prefer to this experience.

As you begin gliding through the waterways of Sarasota, explore the enchanting mangroves and grass flats, immersing yourself in the wonders of the marine and plant life that surround you. Try to spot crabs, stingrays, shrimp, and more using your illuminating lights. Then, get up close and personal with local fish species by feeding them in designated, safe areas.

Enjoy views of the Ringling Causeway Bridge and the Sarasota Skyline before finishing off the evening.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Had a great time. Our guide made this so much fun. The water is shallow so it’s easy to see fish , crabs and more. Really fun experience being out on the water at night. They took care to make sure everyone got in and out of the kayaks safely and provided bug spray.

Tour guid was very knowledgeable and the weather was perfect. Feeding the fish was probably the most exciting part seeing fish thst coost to the kayak was amazing. I also wanna thank are tour guide for not only talking are pictures but helping us into and out of the kayaks. Will definitely be going on more tour in the future.

First time kayaking for two of our friends. Half the price would have been more reasonable. The Kayaks were not glass bottom. More like fiberglass but you could not see through the bottoms.

The guide was outstanding; knowledgeable, offered colorful stories, history, and a great sense of humor. We had a wide version of participants. It included couples, families, seniors, kids, experienced kayakers, novices all levels. He made it a fun experience for all. Beautiful night and a very unique experience.

Lovely view of downtown Sarasota skyline but I was 20 minutes early and was rushed to get into a boat, being told I had to bring my phone and that the number and code was on the side of the boat which I couldn’t read in the dark. Never got the connection real well and it just became a nighttime kayak which we could have just rented boats for.

My son and I went on a 9:30 trip. The experience was unique and fun! The guide was well versed in knowing the wildlife as well as landmarks in the community. We did get fairly wet from the oars so I wouldn’t recommend jeans like my son wore. We hit a bit of wind on the way back and the guide was helpful at coaching through easily!

not sure the purpose of the night. I'm glad I had the experience in a new place but there wasn't anything exciting about it. it was a peaceful night on the water though. the staff were professional though.

Not worth the money!

We were very disappointed in the trip. We have been on other similar night kayaking trips in Florida that were SO much better. We were six family members from Canada and the UK. Only one of us had a cellphone talk plan (hello, data plans), and we were surprised not to have a speaker/transmitter supplied by the company as on other tours. We would not have booked had we known. Only one twosome was able to hear the commentary. We told the guide, however he had laryngitis and said he couldn't talk above a raspy whisper. The tour was only 45 min, not 1h15 as advertised. There was only a guide and helper, so leaving and returning 14 folks took time. The "glass" bottoms on the kayaks were scratched and of little use. There was no LED ring of lights as on the other better tours. The one light over the side was of little help seeing much. The bit of commentary we did hear was not the usual animated and interesting one, but delivered rote. It was certainly not worth the money we spent.
