What To Expect

Present your voucher for admission at The Museum of Flight, then start your tour of air and space with a flight-themed 3D movie in the museum’s 3D movie theater.

Continue into a hangar to see some of the more than 150 aircraft on display, including a faithful replica of the plane that Amelia Earhart disappeared in, the very first flight-worthy Boeing 747, a sailplane, Aerocar, and a human-powered MacCready Gossamer Albatross II.

The museum also has a full-sized mockup of a Space Shuttle Orbiter, the kind used for training before space missions. Exhibits change frequently, but all explore the wonder and technology of flight, from the earliest planes to the frontiers of space exploration. On clear days, don’t miss the views from the T. Evans Wyckoff Memorial Bridge, where you’ll have views of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Mount Rainier.

We would have enjoyed our visit more if the actual opening hours of ALL exhibitions were the advertised opening hours. Under advice given at the entrance, we toured the exhibitions leaving the craft exhibits across the road until last. We were surprised to be told at 3.55pm that we had to hurry as the exhibit was closing at 4pm. The hours on the door said it was open until 5pm. Granted, wnter hours are to 4pm, but we visited in May which is Fall. We are from Australia and were highly disappointed at not being able to complete the museum as we had planned.
Awsome!

Wonderful displays and historical information. Helped my husband by letting us use a WC at no cost. Thanks!
Very interesting displays! Very helpful staff member went above and beyond!

We enjoyed very much our visit on 3/29/24. There is so much to see and read about. We needed an audio guide in German and that worked perfectly for us but some of the numbers did not match, and the numbers on the displays were not always easy to find. The numbered map also was not always correct. A man at reception went above and beyond helping us to get a taxi back to our hotel, even staying late at the museum to make sure the taxi showed up. This museum has so much to see that it could easily fill 2 days at a leisurely pace.

Best museum ever! We spent 5 hours and walked ove 3 miles. It was a blast! We can’t wait to go back. Cafe offers delicious eats & drinks for reasonable prices and everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Definitely worth a day of exploring. Special shout out to Tad. Seeing all the history from WW 1 and 2 was very educational for my grandson. I liked seeing the various planes and reliving the history of the moon landing and space exploration. The kids liked the simulator and the control tower area. Lots to do! We spent 4 hours there.
Fun and interesting time

Seeing airplanes that I used to work on in the service was a real treat. Also being able to walk on side the static displays, especially Air Force One.

A visit to Museum of Flight
ANIL_K, Sep 2023
My visit to Museum of Flight was facilitated by using reward points I earned by my earlier Vancouver day trip. This added more happiness to museum's visit. This is a must do activity while on a trip to Seattle and I discovered Viator as a big facilitator during my visit. Highly recommend 👌 👍
