If you desire to climb to the top of the mountain where Moses received the 10 Commandments, I highly recommend this tour if it is your 1st time. Ahmed was my guide. I would have never made it to the top without him. He never left my side, and continually provided support and encouragement each step of the way. He’s been a guide for 17 years and is highly respected. He explained so many questions that I had. He was extremely thorough on the tour while respecting my prayer, meditation, and queit time. I took the camel up to the stairs then walked all 750. I didn’t have on hiking shoes so I slid a few times. I also suggest going in the evening while it’s dark so you’re not looking down as much. There were many security check points that my driver and were stopped at to verify and check my passport so don’t forget to bring that along as well.

Wish I could give this tour more than 5 stars.. I literally had the best time since very long time. The whole experience was utterly amazing. Start to end. Very very friendly staff from the driver to the guide, to the bedouins. Everything deserves 5 stars. Although I admit it was a bit overpriced, but the price gets reduced when you're more than 1 person.
8am pick up. Three hour...
Heidi_P, May 2023
8am pick up. Three hour drive from Sharm, our driver did not speak English neither did our guide. We did not get bottled water or anything else to drink from this tour company. We took the camels for the 7km up hill walk. Camels are $650egp each and worth every penny. Believe me the 750 stair climb you have to make to get to the peak is no joke. Be ready to sweat. It is very cold and windy at the top. I had a tea at the coffee shop on the top of the mountain, cost $50egp, they also have chocolate bars, not sure of the price. To use the outhouse you must pay $5egp (Bring your own toilet paper because they have none)
They have bed rolls and blankets to rent for $100egp each.
Beautiful sunrise.
Completely exhausted by the time we made the walk back down to the monastery. Monastery doesn’t open until 9am, we got there at 8am. We sat inside the entrance which is breathtaking then decided we wanted shower, food and bed more so headed back to our driver. At one of the check points we were told not safe on the road, so we were held back at the police check point until a military escort could be arranged, this took until 10am. Then the long 3hour drive back to Sharm. Got back to our hotel in Sharm at 1pm.
A Transformational Experience!

Great Tour

The tour was a great experience for us. Hiking up the mountain at night is fantastic, as well as the view in the morning.
The pick up and transfer was very well organized - we got a call 1 day before with our exact pickup time. Our guide was waiting for us on the foot of moses moutain to guide us up.
Well done and thank you
I booked this tour for my daughter...

I booked this tour for my daughter 11 years old and I. It was a good tour.
The guy was very knowledgeable about what she was showing us and even helped us get to the best places to take photos, as well as take photos of us when we asked.
Good points:
They were on time for pick up and brought snacks along for the day in case we got hungry or thirsty.
The guide was informative and the driver was very safe.
We went to all the places on the list as well as the papyrus institute where they showed us how they make paper out of papyrus. She also offered a few more options of places we could stop.
Points to note:
You need to pay for all the entry fees, they are not included. They do tell you this on the ad for the tour, but it's quite costly when you add up that you're paying for entrance to the Pyramids, Citadel, and the museum. So they should maybe inform tourists about what the prices are so people are aware of how much they should take along with them to enter the sites.
I felt a bit rushed at some of the sites.
The guide was a bit persistent about me giving her a review, and a good one - so much so that before we even got to the first stop she had insisted I use her Hot spot for Wi-Fi to download the TripAdvisor app so that I could rate them. I told her I would do it when I got back to our hostel as we had wifi, but in the museum, our last stop, she made sure not to leave before I had actually gone online and given them a review.
I had inquired about a felucca ride on the Nile River, and then she spent most of the day trying to sell me on a dinner cruise, which was out of my budget. Persistent again.
Though we went to papyrus institute on her suggestion, I know that there is commission in it for the guides when they bring tourists and they actually BUY something at these extra sites visited. Again, the sales people were quite persistent. I chose to only visit the papyrus institute and not the linen and perfume places that she also suggested as I know they would try and convince me to buy things. This was a bit off-putting.
She insisted that we not buy any touristy items at the places we visited - like not buying key rings at the pyramids for example. This made me feel a bit scared to attempt to even look at or purchase anything there. Her reason was that they were made in China and I could get them at a better price at the market. They should maybe not have that approach.
Overall it was a good experience, minus the few bad points I tried to look past.
