The tour departs from the Arctic Adventures Booking Hut, located on the parking lot of Skaftafell National Park. Skaftafell National Park is located just off of the main ring road, on road #998. Skaftafell is approximately 4.5-5 hours east of Reykjavik and 1.5 hours west of Höfn.

This was a great experience. Challenging but rewarding hike. And our guide, Martin, was fantastic. Charming, funny, informative and skillful- we felt very safe with him.

This was ok, it was extremely long almost 6 hours and they drop you do far from starting spot of hike and when done we are extremely tired and have to walk again for 13 more minutes to bus. This is not for everyone, its not easy even for teenagers. So unless you are fit and love love love hiking , tooo much tooo long

We are lucky enough to have visited some special places, this experience rates up there with the best of them. Difficult to put into words how spectacular a glacier is up close.
Our guide Uri was fantastic very knowledgeable and was so enthusiastic. At all times he was extremely conscious of our wellbeing and safety.
You will be on your feet for over 5 hours walking up steep uneven terrain in crampons. We felt as though we had done a full days skiing at the end. You do need a reasonable level of fitness and flexibility.
The aching limps are a small price to pay for this wonderful trip. We only hope that we can stop global warming so others can continue to experience these fantastic wonders of nature

Despite the unpredictable weather, our tour still went ahead and we had a fabulous time! Our guide Mark from UK was funny and knowledgeable, he was very attentive to everyone and made sure everyone stayed together since we had some mature people on our group. The glacier hike experience was one of the best ones we had and will happily recommend this company to other people.

We were a bit worried when the weather wasn't looking great cold and rainy, but it turns out it had been so warm that our trip was cancelled for safety reasons. They were great about the process, and it turns out they were able to reschedule us on a later tour! The guides were great - funny, knowledgeable, knew where to take us on the glacier for the cool photos! We aren't big hikers and were worried that the 5 hr hike would be too much, but I think it was fine for us. We stopped a decent amount and went pretty slow since almost everyone was new to using crampons on the ice. Such a cool experience and would definitely recommend the trip!
