If you’re the kind of visitor who likes to learn about the places you visit and live like the locals do, then this is the tour for you. Meet your group and guide at a central location and stroll down the historic Main Street, which dates from the 17th century, on the way to the Fort Christian Museum. Learn about this remarkable red building, once used as a police station and the governor's mansion. Stop to see where the Emancipation Proclamation was read in 1848, now called the Emancipation Garden. Learn that the Danes used the 99 Steps to navigate St. Thomas' hills.

Stop by several local restaurants serving local delicacies such as calaloo, fried pate, and local seafood. Your food tastings will be accompanied by the island's local Bushwacker, a frozen drink made from chocolate, coconut, and rum.

After walking the historical streets and having tasted many of the islands delightful cuisine, you'll end this tour with a deeper connection and appreciation for St.Thomas.

This was a wonderful tour. Every stop was a locally owned small place. Jenny was a fantastic tour guide. We learned so very much about many aspects of the island, its politics, education policies and its history. At each place we stopped, the food was flavorful , unique, and interesting. Another nice aspect of this tour, was that it would be very good for people with limited walking abilities. All of the stops are within a few blocks of each other. We highly recommend this tour without exceptions!

I edited the tour...

I edited the tour reservation 3 days in advance of the tour from 4 people to 3, but I was charged for 4 people.
Wonderful Tour!

The combination of food and history lesson about the area was perfect. Jennie was very knowledgeable and welcoming, we connected with her instantly.
Limited locations open
Sherri_P, Apr 2024
Jenny was great! But only 2 food places were open and 1 was for beverages only. For the price, and the # of locations not open, it was a bit disappointing! Again, love Jenny!
An enjoyable time- Jenny...

We loved it!
Jocelyn_L, Mar 2024
Our tour guide was knowledgeable about the history and the people on the island. Food was fun to try small portions of native dishes at the different places.
The entire three hours...

The entire three hours was absolutely fascinating. Jenny led us through the history, cultural and food experiences of St. Thomas. The highlight of our visit to St Thomas Marcia Scheideman and Kathi Riley

A well orchestrated food & history tour

Our tour guide, Jane, was amazingly knowledgeable about St. Thomas history and the local sites. She very graciously escorted us to 5 local establishments where we dined on freshly baked and prepared treats. It was a very pleasant and fulfilling afternoon. Our thanks to her for the memorable time. .
Fun and informative

My wife and I took the food tasting tour. Our guide Jane was awesome and very intuitive. The tour was very informative and we learned a lot of about the history of the islands. Thanks you Jane for your fun and professionalism. The food was good too!
Wonderful food tour!

Jenny had good knowledge of the history of the USVI. Went to several places for wonderful tastes of local cuisine. There were 7 people in the group which was a nice number to socialize and enjoy the good and the company.
A must do experience in St. Thomas

Jenny was our guide for today and she was wonderful!! A great storyteller with a firm grasp on the history, and present state of the island. I appreciate her perspective and introducing us to some great, local businesses providing such incredible food and services. Thank you!!
The inside details of St Thomas
Grace_D, Feb 2024
Jenny gave us a wonderful, personal tour! We got to meet the owners of the tasting places we went to, and we learned so much about the history of the island, both the distant past, and recent history with the cruise boats and the 2017 hurricanes. We had plenty of great food, too!
Wonderful Taste of St Thomas!
Courtney_Q, Jan 2024
Informative and entertaining tour. I loved tasting local cuisine and hearing the extensive history of St Thomas. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat. The tour meets outside the fort. If you arrive a little early you can walk through the fort ($10). It’s worth a walk through and was used as a dungeon for pirates and enslaved people. I highly recommend this tour!
Go for the History not the Food
Tracy_B, Jan 2024
Jenny was friendly and knowledgeable. This was a nice way to spend the afternoon. I am sorry to say I can't give it a five, because of no fault of Jenny but St. Thomas just isn't a place for a food tour.
Great Way to get to Know St Thomas and spend an Afternoon

We really enjoyed our Food Tasting and Cultural tour with Jennie. Her knowledge and insights about St. Thomas and its history made the tour memorable. We really enjoyed the Tea House for the Salted Cod and a great conversation with the owner Judith. The tasty bites at Gladys’ Cafe included Callaloo soup, conch fritter and a corn grit dish that complemented the soup. The conch fritters were outstanding! The pates were yummy as well. We really learned a lot and had a great time.

My tour guide (Jenny) was very nice. She gave us an enjoyable experience and made us feel welcomed. She is excellent.
Not worth the Price
Mark_s, Dec 2023
Only received about 2 ounces of liquid to drink at one food stop; no water offered (except at $2 a bottle). Not worth the price.

Jane was a well-spoken lady who gave us a great tour of the old town and led us to some great little places that had great local foods.
St Thomas Food tour
Tim_H, Nov 2023
We had a wonderful time. Learned a lot about the food and culture on St Thomas. The guide was very knowledgeable and had a long history about the island. Would do it again!!
Jenny is the best!
Ariel_R, Nov 2023
The walk was light so any age individual could do it. Jenny was very knowledgeable about the islands and absolutely hilarious! The only thing I would adjust is if one or two of the locations are not open the day of the tour to have alternate locations to taste/visit to make up for not being able to attend the original locations.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Thanks for the review. She is as nice as she is funny!
