    Traveler Tips

One day was a bit chilly, and when the bus in in behind the buildings it was even more so, bundle up and enjoy the ride.
However, if you plan on spending several hours at a location, it is a bit of a waste as the bus only runs from 8:30am - 7:30pm.

    Easiest way
    Jacqueline_L, Feb 2024
Easiest way to discover what Sydney has to offer. Right across from our hotel there was a busstop for the hop on hop off. There are maps on the bus so you can see where you are going and what stop you want to get off. If you get off abd want to catch one again the wait is no more that 30-45 minutes. It took us all day to do the red and blue line and only got off at two attractions. I would recommend to buy a 48 hour pass so you have more time to see more attractions. We only bought a 24-hour one.
Perfect if you like standing and waiting
    Susan_J, Feb 2024
We only did a couple of stops because it took about 10 minutes at each stop to get everybody off and back on… That’s not including the 30 minutes it took to wait to get on the first time. Ended up not being a good experience for us. It was too crowded, not worth the long waits at the beginning & at each stop. If you have several days or more in Sydney, then I would suggest maybe doing it the first day to get a good feel of the area. But if you have just one day like we did, please do not waste your time on this bus. We easily burnt about 45 minutes just standing and waiting. This could easily be remedied by adding another bus to the route.
The best way to see a city

Our journey was a fun and relaxing experience. We were able to see everything! A great way to spend a day in Sydney!
    They Need more buses
    Lacresha_F, Feb 2024
Wasn’t overly impressed. The ferry service was great, By the time we went to the zoo and back we had no time to catch the bus the first day. Red line ends at 4:15pm and blue line ends at 3:15. The next day we hardly used the buses, the hop on bus only have limited number of buses. We stood in line for an hour and waited well several buses had no room for any passengers. They only have four buses for the entire city. By the time we finally got on we went to bondi. By the time we made the loop there and back we never even got to use the redline. I really didn’t feel I got my money worth given we bought 2 adult and 1 children tickets for two days and only got use of one ferry ride and one loop around the city to Bondi beach. There was many upset people that felt the line wait wasn’t great around us. Many of those people had use hop on services in other cities and commented that this isn’t how this service is supposed to work. The city of Sydney is beautiful but i recommend using their public train system over this service we had way better results getting around.
Very easy way to get around the city and tourist areas.

Took us to Bondi Beach, Australian Museum, Botanical Gardens, Opera House, downtown Sydney. All the places we wanted to go. My only complaint is the frequency, every 30 min., and last bus was at 4 PM. It was very easy for us to find the stop 2 blocks from our hotel and to know when buses were coming to a stop as they provide an app with live coverage of where the buses are on the 2 routes.
Our experience on the Hop on Hop off bus was very memorable
    JULIE_R, Feb 2024
We really enjoyed the trip around Sydney and the views from different places were amazing. Only downfall was that we had to wait on the bus at circular key for 50 minutes before the bus was ready to go. We were on the top of the bus and it was so hot and muggy with no shade to protect us. Other buses were going around us so we were not sure if this bus had some technical issues. We also found that many places of interest, we drove straight past not letting us take photos e.g. Opera House - we went straight past without pausing to take the view in.
    Enjoyable tour.
    William_S, Feb 2024
Very informative and enjoyable. The trip was as advertised. No problems were encountered at all. I highly recommend it.
    Easy access
    Alan_B, Feb 2024
Stops were made easy to get to. They were close to the main attractions. The signs were clearly marked so the bus was easily able to find.

Bondi Beach & Rose Hill Being able to view so many different areas is the biggest benefit! Service was very pleasant and helpful,
    Love Sydney Big Bus!!
    Carol_K, Feb 2024
This is a great deal. We had a wonderful time in Sydney on the Big Bus Tour. We took the harbour tour one of the days and the blue bus to Bondi Beach.
    Great tour- needs schedule posted
    Sheila_M, Feb 2024
The tour was great. Very informative, However, the time the tour buses end for the day should be on the brochure or ticket. We were very close to being stranded in Bondi Beach. Not great for older people.
    Very enjoyable
    Bianca_v, Feb 2024
Busses arrived in a timely fashion and were clean and well run. Drivers were very friendly and helpful. Stops were easy to find and the app was also helpful. We took both busses - it was a great and informative way to see the city. Thank you 😊
    Sydney Bus Ride

It was a bus ride! It took me around Sydney so I could see it. No, I refuse to write some elaborate statement to satisfy your needs. ''Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'xxxxxx
    Good way to see Sydney
    Kim_L, Feb 2024
Able to see all of Sydney in less than 2 hours and get on and off to explore more of the city’s sites.
Great tour of a fabulous city
    Patsy_H, Feb 2024
Loved the hop on hop ferry to Darling harbour and Manly Wharf - there were Sunday markets in and lots of vibe in the town. The beach was fantastic
    Would not do again
    Jennifer_P, Feb 2024
It was nice to have transportation around Sydney and to Bondi beach Unfortunately, there were several negatives about this experience as well. The buses were over crowded. The buses only came every 45 to 60 minutes, so at the busier stops there were many people waiting. Some of the seats did not have working plug ins for the headphones. The stops were only announced on the headphones so if you couldn't use your headphones you had to figure out where you were. The stops only had a little sign that was hard to see at times. On top of that, the buses didn't stop at every busstop and at a few, stopped for 15 minutes. Would not do again.
Super Bus is the best way...
    Linda_S, Feb 2024
Super Bus is the best way to get a taste of the city when your time is limited. We saw so many sites that we would never get to by ourselves. We had a bit of trouble booking it from our cruise ship. Thank God we took a photo of our ticket because I could not pull it up on my phone.
    Great tour
    Kevin_M, Feb 2024
Your assistant on stop red 3 was so amazing in Sydney! He made sure l w s ably to access your bus easily.
    Not worth the cost
    Albert_V, Feb 2024
Sydney is a big, busy city. I don’t think this bus tour is the best way to see it. Buses were packed and stops were hard to find. Public transportation is very good and easier to navigate than the bus.
Fabulous tour of a fantastic city
    Patsy_H, Feb 2024
The city of Sydney is well reflected on this brilliant city bus tour! The 48 tour option is fabulous value for money as it includes a hop on hop off Harbour trip. The only reason for the 4 stars (and not 5) is the bus was oversubscribed and not all people could get on the bus at times . And the harbour tour was not fully explained initially so was confusing but apart from that I’d definitely recommend.
