Perfect morning learning from Chef Mimmo

We had a great time cooking with Chef Mimmo and his staff. From going to the market, the education about the ingredients we used, making fresh pasta and fish dishes, enjoying meats, cheeses, and wine, nothing could have been better! What a awesome experience.

Wonderful introduction to Taormina. From the local marketplace to our shuttle to Chef Mimmo’s seaside restaurant in Naxos, this was a fun and super organized cooking class. Led by charming Chef Mimmo, we were supported by his wonderful warm and delightful family as we learned to make several pastas from scratch, caponata, pesto, and a delicious fish entree. It was great!! Would highly recommend!

The local market and cooking experience was excellent. Mimmo picked us up at the meeting point and we headed to the local market. The market vegetables were fresh and vibrant. We rode to the family's restaurant which was reserved for the cooking class. We made six types of pasta, pesto, caponata, and delicious involtini di pesce spada (swordfish rolls). Mimmo and his family shared background and assisted as we prepared the dishes. Great food and experience!

Great experience! Very happy and friendly family, good quality ingredients. Easy to learn and make the meals and we made multiple dishes. Our group was mainly vegetarian so we decide to make their meal and I’m so glad we did! It was SO good! Best food so far in Sicily and great experience! Recommend this to everyone!

A lively and very informative cooking lesson with Chef Mimmo!! Our group of 6 was very "hands on" with guidance from the Chef. It was a very enjoyable few hours with a delicious lunch as our finished product. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

It is hard to sum this one up. It was spectacular. We met at the market, got our fresh ingredients and headed to chef Mimmos restaurant overlooking the sea. We learned to make 5 different pastas, two sauces, carbonata, and baked swordfish. Then because it was my granddaughters birthday chef Mimmos dad was busy in the kitchen making a delicious dessert. We sang and danced our way back to the table with or champagne. This is a lovely family, a great restaurant and a truly unique cooking exoerience. Don't miss this one! Can't wait to get home and start making some pasta. He made it so easy to do with no mess. Love love loved it.

We had a great time cooking with Mimmo! Would recommend to anyone who enjoys cooking or wants to learn about Sicilian food. Our favorite parts were learning how to make the difference pasta shapes, and the Caponata! Mimmo is great, and was accommodating to different diets (Vegan for example)

An epicurean experience - not a simple sightseeing tour!

We took this same cooking class five years ago, and Chef Mimmo has improved the experience. We had to arrange separate transportation from our cruise ship port at Messina, but it was completely worth it. From initial contact, we went to the market to gather necessary ingredients for our meal. Mimmo explained what he was looking for in the particular produce, so now we know what a chef's perspective seeks in just the right ingredients. A short van ride to his restaurant on the seashore, and we began. The flour and water to make our own pasta was already prepared and ready to be hand-mixed (the old fashioned way). After the dough was ready, he instructed us how to make four or five different pasta shapes. As the pasta experiments were drying, we chopped fresh produce and tomatoes to make lunch. The fresh aromas stimulated everyone's appetites. After making fresh pesto, we moved on to the fish preparation (he had purchased swordfish at the market along with the produce). As we finished the preparation, he began cooking the Caponata dish with eggplant, raisins, capers, tomatoes and olives. It looked and smelled irresistible. When everything was ready, we sat to eat at the table already prepared with a bottle of white wine which never seemed to go empty. Our traveling party of two couples in our sixties will never forget this tour and experience.

I highly recommend this cooking class with Chef Mimmo. The visit to the market was very informative. Once we arrived at his restaurant we made everything from fresh pasta (different shapes) to prepping the ingredients for the caponata and the rolled swordfish. The meal was delicious and the restaurant is by the ocean so we had a beautiful view. Chef Mimmo and his family are wonderful!
