Terrific Time in Tijuana

I had been to Tijuana a half dozen times but never really experienced the city until I went with a local guide from Baja Rides and Tours. Denisse was wonderful, informative and a joy to be with. My son and I spent the day with her visiting the wall, beach markets, stadium, Caesers Hotel, and many etceteras. We had a really great day trip there from San Diego

Our guide was excellent and he spoke perfect English. I have a difficult time understanding accents, but there was no problem here at all. Tijuana is a huge, bustling city and you wouldn't want to do this tour on your own. I found the description of the tour to be a little misleading. It says you need $35.00 for food, drinks, tacos and souvenirs. Snacks, breakfast and lunch are not included in the price of the tour. One would think that means we are on our own for meals, but in reality we were rather pressured into eating at certain locations pre-selected by the tour company. There were two taco stops (I refused one) and a very good lunch (not til 2:00 pm) in an upscale, but reasonably priced restaurant. The stated $35.00 per person that we would need is not realistic for three eating venues. Also, the ad says that bottled water is included in the tour, but it was not. Not a big deal, we did not need any, but it shouldn't say that. I guess the most interesting thing was "Trump's Wall." It exists in Tijuana and actually runs right into the ocean. Overall it was a very educational and enjoyable tour.

We love breakfast at Birria Si. Our guide Arturo was wonderful. He spoke great English and he showed us around TJ (Tijuana) to places we may never have gone. We felt safe walking through the city and the people were friendly and welcoming. Arturo gave us some history lessons about TJ. He was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our one day trip to Tijuana. The weather was perfect. My husband and I highly recommend this tour. 👍🏼

Tijuana was quite intimidating for the uninitiated. This was our family’s first foray into Mexico, and figured a guide was in order. Our guide was Joe and he intimately knew Tijuana. Anything that piques your interest, he’ll get you there in style. We were interested in tacos, and Joe did not disappoint. Joe knew all the spots and the food was unbelievable. He took us to Caesars and we got their world-famous salad with the dressing made table-side. What made the excursion exceptional was our guide. Joe has a great personality and shared his Mexican culture in a fun and informative way. We really enjoyed our time and look forward to visiting Mexico again.

First Arturo was the best tour guide my wife and I have ever had. If you’re looking for a detailed tour guide and take your time and not feel rushed then this is the way to go. We went all over Tijuana not just the tourists traps. Arturo was full with information and knowledge of the area and places, it helps he lives there and was raised in the area. By far the very best tour of and place we have been to. We will most definitely bring our kids back and using Arturo for our next trip to Tijuana.

Eric our tour guide was the ABSOLUTE best!!! He was kind, patient, helpful- …. Wait……I forgot let me start with AIR-CONDITIONED van…. That alone deserves 10 stars. No one in my group wanted to walk in the sun after waiting to get over the border. I had questions before we arrived both him and his partner Chris made sure I understood everything. The tour was awesome!! Take my word- This is the one you want to take…… no need to keep scrolling!😁

Grew up going to Tijuana so I have been numerous times but never have I been to the places that Joe took us to! He totally showed us a different side of TJ and that was the absolute best part of having a guide. My family and I felt totally safe and well taken care of the entire day and left totally stuffed with amazing tacos and beer from our many stops. Definitely recommend!

Excellent Tour! I totally recommend it! I went with my family, and we were able to learn more about TJ and its culture. Also, we felt safe during the entire trip. Our tour guide was able to pick us up and drop us off right next to the San Ysidro pedestrian crossing, and we crossed the border without any issues.

So many great places to visit! Eric took us to several great restaurants, including Caesars, and the food was wonderful! But the best of all was the Museo de la Lucha Libre. An amazing museum that records so much of the history of the iconic Mexican approach to wrestling. Be sure to get your photo taken "en el ring!" Overall, Eric showed us so many things about his great city.

Thanks Joe. We definitely know Tijuana much better now!!

We were very impressed with areas of Tijuana that our guide, Joe, showed us. From the sea wall to the little sweet bread shop. He is very knowledgeable with the ins and outs of everyday living here and we enjoyed that.

We were visiting San Diego and we had rainy weather. We decided to book this trip, knowing it was a private tour and we'd have a little more flexibility based on the weather. Great decision! Eric drove us around and we ended up doing some wine tastings as well. He answered our questions and provided us with a lot of information about the area. Although it was rainy, we had a great time enjoying the sights and enjoying some food and wine. The birria was fantastic! Highly recommend!!
