What To Expect

Your day starts early with pickup in central Tokyo. Take in the scenery as you depart Tokyo for a 2.5-hour drive to Mt Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain.

Proceed by coach to Mt Fuji’s 5th Station that is located at 7,545 feet (2,300m) about halfway up the mountain and offers another vantage point for Mt Fuji and the surrounding lakes (subject to weather conditions). The 5th Station also features shrines, torii gates, souvenir shops, and perhaps a few climbers completing their preparations for their ascent.

Then have time to enjoy Japanese-style lunch (if you select the "+ Lunch" option at checkout). Otherwise, you have the option to buy your own meal before departure. Then drive to Lake Ashi, located nearby in Hakone National Park. Admire the pretty scenery as you take a short cruise across the lake, which is surrounded by mountains including Mt Fuji and Mt Komagatake.

Then journey to the top of Mt Komagatake on the Mt Komagatake Ropeway, an aerial tram that lifts off from the shores of the lake and takes you up Mt Komagatake in an enclosed cabin with 360-degree views. When you reach the summit, enjoy time to take in views over Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. You can also take a short stroll along one of the walking trails at the mountain top.

After visiting Mt Komagatake, transfer by coach to the evening bullet train (Shinkansen) for your return to Tokyo Station.

Traveler Tips

It's very windy when you are on the 5th station so take a jacket!
This tour can be a bit rushed due to how much is being done in the one day, so if you really want to spend a bit more time at each place it might require a 2 day tour.
If you have mobility issues better to team up with another couple and share the cost of a taxi, though taxis in a Japan are expensive, but overall fantastic day

What a brilliant experience. From start to finish everything ran like clock work, so easy! The guide was extremely interesting sharing general and personal information. The transport good, the lunch excellent but best of all, actually standing on Mt Fuji. This I will never forget.
Nice!

Great trip. Would be better to do the Bullet train in day light so maybe the trip could be reversed in order?
Nice Trip, very well organized
Anne_J, Dec 2023
First you go up to the fifth station of Fuji itself and then you visit several spots with great views at the fuji. We had some bad luck, cause the clouds were very low, but fuji showed up from time to time. Very impressive. Very nice tour guide and driver. The tour was perfectly organized and we took several means of transport (bus, cable car, boat, shinkansen). Thank you very much, we had a very pleasant day.
Mt Fuji Spectacular sight

The whole tour ‘Aki’ was Great. Informative and helpful with answering our questions. The driver was amazing. He got us to the different places on time and Safely. We paid for our lunch, was a little disappointed in the food. Mt Fuji was the Highlight, great weather. Also Lake Ashi was a treat, boat ride was way too short. The other amazing item was the Tram. Great foto ops of Lake Ashi.
Beautiful scenery

Our tour guide, Shoge, was wonderful and helped get through our whole tour smoothly! Luckily, weathers were bad so there were clear skies to see Mt. Fuji, riding the cruise and gondola at Mt. Hakone and even having a delicious meal for lunch!
Beautiful Day Tour

Had a great hide, she provided a lot of the history of Mount Fuji and surrounding area. The lake was beautiful and scenic, highly recommend.
Awesome views

What a memorable day! This tour was expansive and efficient, led by our amazing guide, Yuko. The bus ride was full of information in between stops! And each stop was breathtaking. Really a wonderful experience. I wish the group had been more intimate but it was still great.
A must go trip

We travelled as family from India and found the Service was prompt and courteous. The English speaking guide Mr Hiroshi Suzuki was very helpful and guided us all the way back to the bullet train ride. Bullet train option is a must. Opting for lunch is a must because there's no other food option at the place they stop for lunch. Unfortunately the cruise and ropeway operations was called off due to windy weather. Instead went to alternate shrine place. Mt Fuji stop was little too less. Most time was spent in souvenir shop by most people. Overall a good experience and could have been better if weather was better. Good price as well.
Great time

I'm so happy I joined this group if international travellers instead of Klook's mainly Chinese travellers. The pace was great. The guide was knowledgeable and great.
Fantastic day to Mt Fuji and surrounds.
Ann_B, Nov 2023
The whole trip from checking in untill the end of the trip was very well organised. The weather was perfect and our tour guide (Siky, I think his short name?) was fantastic. He gave us plenty of information along the way. The lunch was very good and the added performance by the Japanese drummers was wonderful. Would highly recommend this trip.
Very satisfying and excellent

Time on fugi mountain was only 30 minutes. Most of the time was in bus. Bus was small and very uncomfortable
Mt. Fuji is a must.

The Mount Fuji is breathtaking. The weather is good. The guide is excellent and commendable. He can speak fluent English and French. The driver is so professional. The tour is very good.
Gloomy day at Mt Fuji
Nuha_F, Nov 2023
This tour was unfortunately not a great experience due to the weather conditions it was raining all day we did not see Mt Fuji and did not see the amazing views we were expecting, I think in future the tour should be cancelled if the weather is not good. The tour guide was fantastic however it was just a shame with the weather. I would like to come back and do this tour when the weather is clear and I can actually see Mt Fuji.

It was a good day. We were able to see mountain Fuji clearly Unluckily cruise and related was concealed due to wind. But I thought bad weather caused however there could be a way to re-schedule the cruise slightly earlier. Bad weather was forecasted. Not last minute thing

A tour of public transportation
Suzanne_A, Nov 2023
I can't recommend this trip, unfortunately. It was 12 hours, most of it on a packed bus made for smaller Japanese people, not large westerners. The obese person next to me took up half my seat, and I couldn't even sit squarely in the seat. It was claustrophobia – inducing. The lunch stop was out in the middle of nowhere in an abandoned hotel that exists solely on providing lunch for very large tour groups. They have a captive audience, so they charge ¥500 for a Coca-Cola, three times the vending machine price. But you are out in the middle of nowhere, so you have no alternatives. More driving, then some random ferry ride across a lake and a cable car to a mountain in a white out. Then Mohr driving back to the train station in bumper-to-bumper traffic to be dropped off at the train station to make our way back to the starting point. It was 12 hours of crowded slow going transportation. Lastly, this tour does not provide the "money shot" of Mount Fuji. We got up close to the ice field in the glaring sun., then back on the bus for an hour drive for lunch, then another hour drive to some Lake. That was the last we saw of Mount Fuji. My only "landscape" photos were out the bus window. Just a miserable, expensive day.
Horrible
Norway_f, Nov 2023
Viator do you really want to know what my experience was horrible? I never made a trip because transit in Japan was delayed and you all talked about an amendment for another day. You just give me the runaround and I’m so thankful for your runaround which give me the opportunity to put my review on every social media I can find about your service which was inconsiderate and all you could say is sorryViator definitely was not sorry to take my $280 .
Wonderful day
