What To Expect

Meet and greet the local tour guide and the rest of the small group near the front entrance of the Village by the Grange in downtown Toronto. There will be a brief introduction to Toronto before beginning the approximately 3.5-hour ride around Toronto’s eastern islands.

The tour begins with a brief ferry ride across the Inner Harbour to the eastern Toronto Islands, where bicycles are preferred in this, the largest car-free community in North America.

See historic landmarks like the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, the oldest existing lighthouse on the Great Lakes and one of Toronto's oldest buildings, and the Royal Canadian Yacht Club, one of the world’s oldest and largest yacht clubs. Then stop for a snack and admire Toronto’s waterfront parks and beaches, as well as a breathtaking panoramic view of the city skyline.

Throughout the tour, the guide will provide information about the history of the islands over the past 200 years as well as its role as a residential community, recreation spot, transportation hub, scenic retreat — even a sporting facility. The tour ends back near the Village by the Grange.

We had a great tour of the islands, it is a great way to escape the city for a little bit and the views back towards the city after catching the ferry are amazing. Mariana was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and showed us all of the key points of interest. Would highly recommend if you want to do something a little different to other tours in Toronto.

Island bike ride in Toronto
Deborah_M, Apr 2024
I was the only one going on this ride with Mariana. I’m very thankful that the tour went on with just one person. If this had been an excursion on a cruise ship, it would’ve been cancelled with just one person. Ride on island was fantastic!
Great Biking Island Tour

Great bike tour with island history and information! Cold October Sunday but tour guide had gloves for everyone. Great pace for whole group. Great views and picture opportunities.

I had an excellent time with our guide Caitlin. For anyone who’s worried the hardest part of the cycling is coming out of the parking lot - and after that it’s 99% flat! It’s a great way to see the island and a chance to get some exercise in at the same time.
Great fun and excellent value

We absolutely loved the bike tour! Our guide Ryan was friendly and engaging and very knowledgable, a pleasure to spend time with. We got to see some beautiful parts of Toronto that we otherwise wouldn’t have even known about and the time just flew by. Highly recommend the tour, great fun and excellent value.

We had a wonderful time on the tour. Perfect way to see and experience life on the Toronto Islands. Mariana was very friendly and knowledgable. Loved the history lesson and the nude guy on the beach :) She made sure we were all comfortable riding through town to get to the ferry and back. We recommended this tour to our family and friends. Would definitely ride again!!
Fun way to see the Island
louisa_c, Jun 2023
Our guide Diana was lovely, I was a little nervous riding a bike on the roads of Toronto, but they have such good bike lanes and you go at a nice pace, as I do not ride a bike that often. The island was so peaceful and we felt we were miles away from Toronto . We all enjoyed the tour a great way to see the island at leisure.
Beautiful History of the Islands
