Meet your guide and small group of up to 25 people in central Valletta for a morning departure. After learning a little bit about the city, which was built by the Knights of St John in 1565 and is now a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, set out on a walking tour of the city’s highlights.

Discover Valletta’s magnificent Baroque architecture, stopping to admire St. John’s Co-Cathedral, the Auberge de Castille, and the Church of St. Paul's Shipwreck, then visit St. George’s Square to see the opulent Grand Master’s Palace.

As you walk around the city, your guide points out the new Parliament building, the ruins of the Royal Opera House, and historic sites such as the Great Siege Monument, The Siege Bell Memorial, and Fort St. Elmo. Continue through lively Piazza Regina, then stroll around the idyllic Upper and Lower Barrakka Gardens and hear about Valletta’s role as the 2018 European Capital of Culture as you gaze down over the Grand Harbour.

It was good...enjoyed it. There was lots of information given, maybe too much. Overall very pleased with our tour!
Highly recommended
Lesley_U, May 2024
Booked this before travelling in the hope of learning a little of the history of Valetta. Certainly not disappointed, guide was extremely well-informed and shared many anecdotes and answered random questions as well as leading a very interesting tour. I booked the walking tour of Mdina and Rabat on the strength of this tour and was not disappointed, that was great too.

So glad I booked this tour the morning of my first full day in Malta. Mathew was my guide and very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour gave me a good understanding of Valletta to explore on my own during the afternoon and next day. Would recommend.

Great guide - Allizere was excellent, she was very knowledgable and brought the history of Valletta to life for us - a great way to start any trip to Valletta

fzzubair, May 2024
Such an informative tour, great pace not tiring and the story telling was vivid and brought to life. I didn't quite get the guides name but she was a young lady beginning with A. I've been on tours all over Europe and Asia hers was by far the best.
Brilliant walking tour with great guide.

Qiaoli_M, May 2024
Our guide Mauricio (the thin gentleman with grey hairs) if I did not recall his name wrongly is really knowledgeable, giving us a lot of information on the geography, history and religion. Really appreciated that!
Amazing Walking Tour Experience
Lakshay_K, May 2024
Taking the Valletta Walking Tour was an absolute delight! Our knowledgeable guide led us through the charming streets and historic landmarks of Malta's capital city, providing fascinating insights into its rich history and vibrant culture. From the majestic St. John's Co-Cathedral to the picturesque Upper Barrakka Gardens overlooking the Grand Harbour, every step revealed a new treasure waiting to be discovered. The tour was well-paced, allowing us to admire the architecture, soak in the atmosphere, and capture memorable moments along the way. Whether you're a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or simply seeking to immerse yourself in the beauty of Malta, this walking tour is a must-do experience
Excellent guide and so much information in a short space of time.

Matthew was an excellent guide and told us so much about Valletta and Malta. He spoke clearly and gave a lot of details that we would never have known if we didn't book the tour. The 3hrs shot by. Definitely a great way to learn about the history of Malta. Excellent day 😀
Highly knowledgeable guide, well worth doing

Matthew was so knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to. Fantastic knowledge of Valletta. Loved the tour.
Frustrated
Anna_L, May 2024
There was a group from a cruise ship that were not at the start of the tour. So the guide made the whole group wait over 30 min to start the tour. We really did not see much. The guide was knowledgeable but kept repeating himself. Frustrating.
Response from Host, May 2024
We make our best to give the best experience to all our guests. It was unfortunate that we were having a bad day, as 3/4 of the group were late. However we still started the tour on time, and our team was waiting for those that were late so that they can join the tour later. However we would like to point out that the tour still started on time, and we are sorry that you felt frustrated. We are sad that we did not meet your expectations and you had to resort into leaving us this review, which tempers our reputation.
Nice City Tour
Fredrick_J, Apr 2024
This was an excellent overview of the city. The guide was very knowledgeable and added a bit of humor. Because of the time constraints we did not go inside buildings. So will separately have to tour St. John’s Cathedral.
Enjoyable and informative
Janet_B, Apr 2024
We had an excellent guide…..clear, well planned information presented in an engaging way. A very good start to a few days in Valletta giving a historical overview.

The guide was fabulous. So knowledgeable and personable. Very interested in Valletta and its history. 3 hours went by quickly.
The best of Valleta!!
Christine_P, Apr 2024
The organizers made sure I made it. I was a bit late. And our tour Guide, Azilea, is the best story teller. I wish I can stay the whole time but I got a flight to catch. But with whatever time I have covered, I am definitely recommending the tour. Thank you!!
