If you are meeting at our 999 Canada Place location, meet us at 30 minutes prior to tour departure time. Luggage transfer to hotel is not available. We do not drop off at Vancouver International Airport. Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing will pick up from select downtown Vancouver hotels. Please provide the hotel information at the time of booking. Guests must contact Gray Line Westcoast Sightseeing by 5 pm the night prior to departure to confirm pick up location and time.

What To Expect

This full-day trip from Vancouver to Vancouver Island begins in the morning. Meet at a central departure point in Vancouver, or request hotel pickup. After seamlessly transferring by shuttle to the ferry port, you’ll hop aboard and set sail. Head onto the deck to soak up views of the Gulf Islands, look out for wildlife like eagles and whales, and otherwise immerse yourself in British Columbia’s spectacular scenery over the 90-minute journey.

Upon arrival at Swartz Bay terminal, travel by comfortable vehicle with your guide to Butchart Gardens: One of the most popular attractions on the island. With included admission, you’ll skip any lines and head right into the National Historic Site. Have enough time to admire the scenery, and learn stories about the landmark that you wouldn’t encounter on your own.

Next, transfer to Victoria: the capital of British Columbia. You’ll have two hours to stroll its Inner Harbour, see vibrant neighborhoods like Chinatown, stop for a bite, and more—the itinerary is up to you, so see what interests you most.

Finally, embark on a late-afternoon ferry back to Vancouver, with transit back to your start point. There, the tour ends.

We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful vibrant Butchart gardens, the tulips were magnificent. A very special place. Victoria was also lovely and the weather was perfect. Our driver Kevin, was very knowledgeable, he arrived on time and was a delight. Unfortunately his microphone was not working but he still managed us to give us a lot of information. Can recommend this tour.

It’s a long day. More time is needed in Victoria. 1.5 is very short. The Gardens minimum time is 1.5 hours. No less.

The trip to Victoria was a special excursion. We loved our guide Leslie who made all instructions clear and humorous. He taught us much throughout the day and remained most courteous. Butchart Gardens was a delight with the Christmas lights and 12 days of Christmas theme. Would love to return in the spring. Traveling by ferry was a breeze. It was a 5 star day!

8hrs travel - 4 hrs sighteeing

8 hrs of travel by bus/ferry for 4 hrs of sightseeing (including lunch). Not worth it. It becomes even worse if it is raining since you can't really walk around in the rain in Victoria (though they give light umbrellas in Buchart Gardens)

Wonderful trip. I enjoyed all of it. The ferry runs later this time of year so the group didn’t have as much time in Victoria as we would have liked. Tour bus was comfortable and the guide knowledgeable. He gave us some info, set a time to return to the bus, and then everyone went their own way at each site. It was the perfect kind of tour.

Rain or shine this was a great tour! Our tour guide was awesome! He knew so much history and shared lots of fun facts! The garden was beautiful even without the roses in bloom. Definitely book this tour! It’s a long day but worth it.

Herman was fabulous and very relatable. He shared lots of local lore and history. The Gardens were AMAZING. A mind blowing experience! Worth it every time any season. Loved the inner harbor, float planes, and red fish blue fish, any a stroll through China town and the PanTan alley. Looking at the Parliament, The Empress, the carillon and BC museum-fantastic!Looking forward to another visit to Victoria!

Beautiful, rainy, lots of travel

Gordy, our tour guide, was super sweet and pleasant. It was pouring rain the entire day, reducing visibility on the ferry, but we practically had the Buchart Gardens to ourselves. The colors were still amazing, though! There was a lot of travel involved (3 hours total each way), but we really enjoyed the whole day. Wish we had more time in downtown Victoria, but overall, wonderful experience and really glad we did it.

We had an incredible trip. David was very organized, knowledgeable and friendly. We had good weather, smooth bus and ferry transportation. Butchart Gardens were spectacular, as always. I would like to be able to spend more time there, as so much to see. A lot of interesting history of Victoria and surroundings. Just a fun day.

Butchart Gardens

Great tour but a long day. 12 hours. For us it was all new, ferries, the gardens which were amazing, so all of it was an experience. Not having to navigate to and over the ferries and back was a plus. Butchart Gardens was much better than we anticipated for October and way way way less crowds. Bobby made it interesting and we were comfortable leaving a bag on the locked coach when out walking around. Highly recommend.
