What To Expect

Your walking tour starts in Campo San Geremia, a picturesque square in the quiet, tucked-away district of Cannaregio. Experience Venice as locals live it, far from the usual crowds of tourists. Listen to the story of the square’s unusual and comic history. You’ll be in a group of only 15 people maximum, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Cross over Cannaregio’s tranquil foot bridges into the Jewish Quarter—the origin of the word “ghetto.” Step inside the church of the Madonna dell’Orto, famous for its Tintoretto paintings. Learn why the stunning facade of the Palazzo Mastelli del Cammello is nicknamed “Camel House.”

Get a peek at a historic gondola factory as you wind your way toward one of the city’s star attractions: Rialto Bridge. Listen to your guide recount stories about the traditions and little-known stories behind the 16th-century landmark. The tour ends here in the heart of Venice, but you’ll be well-positioned to continue exploring on your own.

Jewish Quarter
Lisa_A, Apr 2024
Matteo was an excellent tour guide. He was welcoming, informative and very knowledgeable about the neighborhood and Jewish Quarters. We enjoyed our time with him greatly.
AMAZING!

Lorenzo was FABULOUS! What an incredible man that shared so many rich and important stories about Venice. Hearing about Venice through his eyes, having been born and raised there, made it extra special! It was an amazing experience that we would highly recommend.
Venice as maybe it used to be in a bygone era
Toby_F, Apr 2024
Lorenzo, our guide, was relaxed and fun and full of knowledge. Was a lovely occasion and would fully recommend this tour (takes you away from the crowds in Venice and shows you what was maybe the Venice of the past). Lorenzo clearly loved the area and showed us sights and sounds we would not have seen without his guidance and knowledge. Thank you Lorenzo. I hope to return in the future with my teenage children and will repeat the tour with them and hopefully you again too. All the best. Christine

The tour of the Jewish ghetto. Really moving. The whole tour was excellent and opened my eyes to a Venice that I did not know about even though I have been here many times before.

Michaela was an excellent guide. So enthusiastic about her city and showed us so many hidden gems. She walked at a comfortable pace and gave us time to really enjoy the tour. It was a great way to orientate ourselves with the city and her recommendations of restaurants were fantastic. Thank you so much.
Wonderful walking tour of Venice
Hugh_M, Apr 2024
What a wonderful, knowledgeable walking trip around the city ! For all ages ! Lorenzo our guide was fantastic! He has grown up and lived in Venice all his life and the tour was so personal, that you felt a connection with the city as you see it through his eyes. We peppered him with questions and he answered them all, we even saw the church where his parents got married. This is not a generic walking tour but an opportunity to get to know Venice from the inside out. I couldn’t recommend this more.

Lorenzo did such a great job of telling the story of the Jewish Getto! He was able to help us envision what it must have been like in the past.
History Brought to Life
Cynthia_G, Apr 2024
Our guide is what brought this tour to life for us! Enrique was just phenomenal and I really spoke about the history behind the Jewish Ghetto and his own life experiences living in Venice- The city of Venice is lovely and he brought out its culture and history to blend it all together well! He answered any and all questions we had about everything we were interested in hearing the answers which I also so appreciated. Great job and tour
Great tour guide.

Leo was the best guide. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We toured areas off the beaten track, which was great for our fourth visit to Venice. We had a small 4 person group which was also very nice and intimate.
Great tour and terrific guide
Dana_F, Apr 2024
Leo did a wonderful job sharing details about his home city. He was engaged and excited to share. We learned a lot, walked a lot and had a great time.
Great Intro to Venice!
Jane_K, Apr 2024
This was our first excursion in Venice (literally 3 hours after we arrived), so it was a great intro to the city - not just the touristy parts but the regular, every day living parts too. Our guide was Seba and his love and passion for his city was evident in every story he told. Highly recommend!
Great tour in Venice a must do

Learning and walking through Venice
vicki_h, Apr 2024
Seeing different neighborhoods of Venice and being able to hear of the rich history of each was great. We were able to see parts of Venice we might have missed.
A great walk through the streets of Venice
Debbie_D, Apr 2024
It was a wonderful walk through some of the less crowded and interesting portions of Venice with a knowledgeable guide. We truly enjoyed the tour!
Interesting but hard to hear.
Anne_S, Mar 2024
Wish they used radio sets so the guide had a microphone and the guests had headphones so we could all hear everything we were being told.
An incredibly interesting and informative start to our holiday with a polite and considerate guide
anna_k, Mar 2024
We knew very little about Venice . As we slowly walked around the old streets our guide pointed out houses and monuments and told us of their significance the history of the city . We learned so much about Venice past and present. He answered all our questions and I feel that, learning so much on our first day (March 1st), really helped us to know and appreciate this amazing city. I totally recommend this tour.
