Meet your guide at the bottom of the gardens in front of the restaurant La Flotille by the Grand Canal. You can see the Grand Canal from the terrace behind the palace. Walk towards it, on the right hand side of the gardens. Your guide will be wearing their guide card on an orange lanyard.

Please note! You will need to purchase a ticket to enter the gardens of Versailles, as you need to cross the gardens to reach the gate that leads to the Domain of Marie-Antoinette. The ticket will cost 8.50€ or 9.50€ depending on the day of your visit. Please allow yourself plenty of time, ticket lines can be long and it is about a 15 minute walk through the gardens to reach the gate.
This tour is best suited to guests who are already in Versailles visiting the palace and gardens in the morning, or guests who have previously visited and know the palace and gardens and wish to explore more.
You can cancel your tour up to 24 hours prior to departure and receive a full refund. Please note that refunds are not possible for missed tours.

Understanding the Full Versailles Picture

Our guide was wonderful and provided all the context to view Petit Trianon and Hamlet! It was a great juxtaposition to the Castle and understanding its history and how the people in it lived as well as the architecture and its purpose as a getaway from royalty.

Fantastic, knowledgeable, and very personable guide. Excellent pace and volume of information. Our teenagers were engaged and enjoyed all of the quirky facts our guide shared to keep them interested. Would recommend our guide and this tour.

Waste of money

Horrible! Tip to all - these tickets do not include entrance into the gardens. You have to buy those separately . Furthermore , the mobile network is very poor at the chateau, so if you have downloaded anything, you won’t be able to access the audio guide! Waste of money and the customer service at Viator is terrible.

We are very sorry to read your comments and to learn that you were disappointed with your visit. We do state very clearly on the booking page on Viator that the garden tickets are not included, as the tour visits the domaine of Marie Antoinette, which is already very far down inside the gardens, quite a way from the main entrance. We do wonder however if you perhaps had bought something else from Viator, as we don't offer audio tours, our tours have a real in person guide. We are a local operator based in Paris, not Viator, and are sorry that you were disappointed with their customer service. We hope nonetheless that you had a great time here in Paris.

Truly exceptional tour. Ivan was absolutely fantastic. We were a little disappointed that the train wasn’t running and we were unable to “peek inside Marie Antoinette’s theater” as listed on the booking site, but otherwise an incredible experience, really well done. 10/10 would recommend
